Trust me stick with Dexter it will totally blow you away it didn’t win all its awards for nothing, personally I rate it the #1 show on TV, then 24, nobody seems to like it but I’m a sucker for FlashFoward.
Back on topic, it was a good finale however I enjoyed 23rd hour more than the 24th, if they can show Hassan dripping from head to toe in blood they should have showed Logan blow his brains out, or is it because he is a President they can’t go there. I honestly thought they were going to kill Jack, good suspense.
Question. Do these drones actually exist? And the image quality from CCTV cameras around the city is ridiculously good, how realistic is any of this?
Only one thing is certain in the movie, Jack, Chloe and a mole.
EDIT: This is also why this show has to end. Jack’s generation has passed. At the beginning of the series, Jack was surrounded by friends and mentors and connections in the government. By Season 8 he was on the outside looking in. Nobody in government really knows Jack anymore-- Chloe’s the last one. The rest are retired, incarcerated, brutally murdered.
The old guard was replaced by pencil-necks like Cole, Arlo, and that high school field agent that died. In the most cynical way possible, Jack’s life as a federal agent (which is what the show was always about) has ended, with no reason left to return.
Plenty of subtleties like that gave the finale more impact to fans who watched the series from start to finish.
Technically (they don’t really keep track of the year but since 24 nerds want to know) S8 took place in 2018. US drones survey and kill Pakistani targets all the time and UK is already considering civilian use. With all the freakin terror activity in 24 and with a brand new CTU facility, I’d say it’s plausible 8 years from now.
I’m not 100% sure Logan (great performance btw) died. I think the paramedic was saying something about how if they could save him, he’d have severe brain damage.
IIRC. That’s exactly what happened to logan last time, his death has always been ambiguous.
Wow. I thought there would be a lot more deaths, but what we got was suspenseful anyway. I cracked up when I saw the Bauer Smirk again.
Great ending to the series, and a nice setup for the movie. Like what some people said though, part of me is dead now that the series is over…like, what am I supposed to do now? :shake:

Anyone else think those guys who had Bauer were part of the Patriots? Imagine if the series ended like that. I wonder if the writers aren’t going to pursue that arc any more? Maybe for the movie?
Also, where do you think ROGUE JACK will end up going? Probably not Canada…
I believe it was stated that he was having an adventure in Europe, but as far as where he’s going to hole out, that I think is up in the air.
I just watched the final 2 episodes again since my wife was watching, and I still got choked up a little with the last couple minutes. Really stinks that this is it

Really Prez Skirt’s sudden about face ruined hour 24 for me, I just cannot see any President ever doing something like that at a signing ceremony. I would have maybe preferred a plot where Ethan and Tim tried to stop Prez Skirt w/ Chloe assist. But the rest of the double header was pretty solid. Hour 23 was amazing, hour 24 was alright.
The climax felt pretty anticlimactic for me, Chloe saving the day was appropriate but somehow just didn’t feel right…I guess it’s because I know the movie is coming.
Anyhow, compared to the previous season this one definitely redeemed itself in the end.
what a great ride it’s been. with the way cable, internet and videogames have splintered people’s attention I doubt we will ever see another show of this magnitude again. god bless you jack bauer for your service and i look forward to seeing you on the silver screen.
I’ve only watched season 6-8 so, I don’t know much about the history of 24. But I do know that it was a little bit anticlimactic, but very fitting for an ending for TV.
With the series over :sad: and this being SRK we need a comprehensive 24 tier list to properly wrap up what has been a great show for the past decade and really the only thing I watched on TV. All I have left now is watching the LOLRaptors lose. :shake:
