Necar can be my sweet Nectar anytime. Anytime, anyplace, girl. Like Aaron Hall sang-- You can have a piece of my love, Ms. Hassan.
It’s good to go out with such an amazing season…especially the latter half…it was on fire. This show is like the steroid/PCP drug shot (administered from a gigantic 10-ton syringe) in the ass that tv needed for a long time.
It’s been such a wild ride, I’m sad to realize that this is the end.
-So what was the “biggest shock?” Logan trying to kill himself?
-Jack turned on David mode for a second. Fuck you, Pillar.
-Just glad they didn’t harm my Chloe
-Anyone else hoping for more…Celebration? Like a retrospective/flashbacks? More reference to the previous events?
-Will CTU EVER find the parole officer?
Pretty lackluster ending. For all the buildup and adrenaline of the last 10 episodes, they just totally dropped the ball. At least Logan committed suicide, but the idea of Taylor just coming out and saying “oh, I’m part of a massive coverup” seemed pretty unrealistic. Never find out what happened to Chloe, Ortiz, Jack’s daughter, CTU, Dahlia, Reed… AND you would think they could at least work Jack’s dad into the finale… no way that guys dead.
It’s like the guys from 24 and Lost got together and said: hmm… how can we produce mediocrity? I mean really? Jack fails … and we have to rely on Taylor of all people to save the day… just stupid…

WOMAN.

MOVIE?

Day 1 Jack saves a president. Day 8 a president saves Jack.[/details]
I think you misunderstood the point the finale was trying to make
[Spoiler=] Jack had the power to end this HIS WAY. But for the first time in the series he chose not to follow through for the sake of upholding the ethics he stood for, leaving the fate of everything in the hands of others. It was not his cross to bear anymore.
President Taylor fell from grace, and her admittance was unrealistic from the perspective of what we expect from a politician; and that was the whole point. She did something that went above the mindset of the political weasels she meddled with up til now. Jack’s faith that things would follow through worked out, even though many had to pay the price.[/details]
And Jack’s dad is dead. He was in a big ass explosion on an oil rig, in the middle of the ocean, with nothing else around. Unless he could transport his soul Sigma Virus style he’s dead.
Not the most exciting ending – you have to really buy into the whole peace agreement gravity. But of course, 24 was never just about fucking up the bad guys in the most ganster way possible; it was mostly about integrity.
Here’s to u Jack
Ps. Also kinda surprised it was Chloe who was there at the end.
Yeah the 00:00 really drove it home that this is the end (of the TV series).
thoughts on finale
[details=Spoiler]
-The last minute or so with Chloe/Jack was crazy emotional. I couldn’t really think of any other way to send off the show.
-Obviously the plot with Suborov (spelling?) is a good choice for a movie, cause you KNOW Jack’s still not happy about losing his woman. I think the way they ended it, without really showing any of the aftershock of Taylor’s admittance also makes this a likely movie plot.
-Logan taking himself out was fitting, cause that fucker seems immortal. Didn’t seem like anyone else could actually do it.
-LOL@Jack taking that dude’s ear just because.
-Also, I’m sure it was just implied, but where was the actual recording of the conversation with Suborov? It looked like all they had was Jack’s confessional recording.
edit: Also, a major LOL @ Logan for getting duped into getting recorded/bugged… AGAIN (Season 5’s ending, lol).
All in all, the last 4 episodes or so were exactly what fans should have wanted in the show, especially as the last episodes that sent the show on its way. Bravo. [/details]
[spoiler=]What I saw from Jack’s descent was the same disillusonment with their government that motivated Saunders, Henderson, Tony. Actually a lot of the villains in the series were motivated by the sins of the politicians they trusted. President Skirt stopping to do the right thing prevented the cycle from continuing with Jack.
And I’m glad that the writers didn’t make Jack pop Suvarov… as satisfying as it would’ve been, Jack wouldn’t be any different than some of the people he personally arrested or put down.
It was a great ending… for a season finale, but for a grand finale it was alright. The ride was better than the destination. For a second I thought the guys in black were the same group that picked up Tony after S5. [/details]
PS. I’ve been watching S1 of Dexter for the past few weeks… it’s okay but doesn’t grab me. I’ll give Breaking Bad a try.
Watching the clock tick, for once, down to zero had so much gravity. I’ve rarely followed a show like this from beginning to end, watching every episode every week. To know 24 is complete makes me very sad, but I look forward to some good future adventures in the theater. Let’s hope the change of format doesn’t ruin what has been a terrific 8 year run.
Hopefully, I’ll post some more thoughts on the actual episode tomorrow after I sleep. I’ll be dreaming of what lies ahead for Jack Bauer. And of searching Chloe.
Backtracking in my mind, with the honorable mention of the smirk he gave Nina when he had her in custody in the van in season 2, last night had the most satisfying **Bauer Smirk? ** ever.
I’m smirking myself just thinking about that smirk.
