Official 24 Season 8 Thread: 00:00:00

Just reminded me, wasn’t it rather too convenient that slumdog sylar & co hiding by the boat had clear view of Jack behind the SUV but were only armed with night vision goggles. Jack was able to run infront of a bad guy shooting at him at close range with an automatic rifle like he was James Brown on stage only to be hit once, I willing to pass that off as bauer power but why’d they have to kill off Rookie!?!

Cause he didn’t listen to Jack, and we all know Jack is always right.

truth. if you don’t listen to jack, you deserve to die.

Starbuck creeping towards Stapler in the shadows, you can see she was to become a villain in the story. Her murdering Stapler was the nail in the coffin. Moles = boring, it’s been done too much in 24…

The twist was lame but there’s always shit going on and moving forward in 24. At the very least we all know Jack is going to hunt Dana’s ass down and make her pay for the waste of time that was her storyline for the first half the season.

I usually don’t watch the preview but I had to just to make up for the end of the last ep. Oh and it does.

Still think this season is awesome.

Jack, nothing. I hope Renee gets to snap Dana’s neck later on this season. That would be HOT.

And yes, Renee was really yummy in that last episode. Mmmmmm MMM.

But the funny thing is, if we sit back and think about it carefully, even though the twist is kinda dumb and we’ve DONE the mole in CTU a thousand times before, it all makes kinda sense. Let’s look at it carefully.

  1. Dana DOES have a shady background that was about to be exposed. She was trying very hard to hide it, and it had to be for a reason.

  2. Having a fake name WOULD NOT FLY against CTU’s background check, even for a small time redneck crime. It makes MORE sense, however, that she had a full backing of terrorists to help erase her past from a CTU-quality background check.

  3. She WAS gonna kill the two redneck guys. It means she certainly had it in her. She’s apparently killed someone in the past, so she might be a good candidate for being used as a mole.

  4. She helped them at first rob the vault place. She obviously has no stake in the money and just needs to get her job done for that day. So if she helps them pull it off, she’s better off than offing them immediately and having to deal with dead bodies later. But Stapler guy was TOO persistent, so she didn’t really have any choice.

So as stupid and unlikely as this twist may seem, it sadly makes more sense and makes Dana’s character actually make more sense. I hate the twist MORE for the fact that it IS the twist, because moles in CTU is sooooooo old hat.

But then again, if you were a terrorist, wouldn’t you try it? Obviously, it KEEPS WORKING.

Maybe I just watch too many HK cop movies from the 90’s and 2000’s. Me personally I’m sick of the mole storyline. It doesn’t help that America is beating it to death now in the 2010’s. I thought I was done with this shit 10 years ago!

/end rant.

the twist should be there is no mole

Or even better a fake mole pretending to be a mole but is really a mole for the mole employers.

Not every season had a CTU mole. Gael in S3 was considered a mole but wasn’t. Everyone thought Nadia was one too in S6.

I’d say S5 and 7 were the seasons that overused the mole storyline.

S5 - Spencer, Walt, Henderson, Logan. Although the latter two did start off portrayed as good guys.
S7 - You had FBI Weasel and Blondie, Screech (guy who worked for Senator Red Forman), and those Secret Service agents.

Ironically S6 is the season most people put at the bottom of their list when ranking seasons, while S5 and 7 are ranked high (I’d rank them high at least).

what ever happened to tony & that guy he almost killed

Probably show up in CSI

The only ridiculous thing about that episode is that apparently CTUs holding rooms come equipped with a crawl space big enough to stash a body in.

That is usually called a double agent.

Jack should be the mole for the series finale and all these seasons were just a big subplot to the terrorist attack in the series finale in a plot to blow up the Earth while using the detonator from the moon and cohabiting there with renee

Nah it could never be Jack, unless his father implanted a chip in him, which turns him into a killbot . Chloe as the mole would have been the best mind fuck ever!

Kim Bauer = Ultimate mole. I’m calling it right here before the series finale!

And even then Jack would fight that ish til he overrided the circuitry.

i would have preferred renee be “the mole.” just think about what that would have done to jack’s character. the whole “jenny” storyline is the worst thing to happen to 24 since amnesia.
