Official 24 Season 8 Thread: 00:00:00
- What was the point of that Junior ROTC field agent? He got a LOT of screentime. Maybe a red herring for the actual mole?

 • I’m almost going to miss the parole officer and his annoyingly smug demeanor. Dude was about as persistent as herpes. I’d love to see Dana go back to work, take a bathroom break, then parole guy cutting her off out of nowhere and asking “soooo about that video Ms. Walsh”
tonight’s episode

Why Katee Sackhoff’s 24 role will surprise you

Key quote from the article:

Yeah, Dana’s reveal isn’t that surprising. Out of all the new characters on the show this season, Dana being a mole made the most sense. Consider the above quote, does anyone really think the actress would agree to sign onto the show if her character’s role was a behind the scenes data analyst with just a silly redneck subplot attached? Sounds like the writers told her there was a lot more to her character. Maybe not completely everything, but that she was going to play a much larger and substantial role within the greater storyline. They probably had the twist planned out since the beginning.

This actually contrasts how they handled the Logan twist in S5, where they didn’t tell Greg Itzin his character was going to be bad until about 10 episodes in.

Other notes from tonight -

Jack getting into a 30+ minute firefight, NICE! I think I counted four kills for him tonight? Then Dark Phoenix showing up and picked up another two kills. I was excited at the possibility of a three-person team of Dark Phoenix, OLD JACK, and The Fresh Prinze of NYC wrecking shop. But I think Cole left in an NYPD Chopper. Oh well, a two-person team of Psycho Jack and his apprentice is just as good.

Sad to see COD Owen dying, but at least he died alongside his COD buddy, Nameless CTU Field Agent.

Finally, you can tell Bubba has read Jack’s file. “If anyone can take care of himself, it’s Jack Bauer.” Yea, he knows Jack runs shit on 24. You know who else knows about Jack? Persian Sylar. When he spotted Jack at the dock him and his buddy took off with the quickness!

23 minutes in and I already can’t stand the show anymore. Waaayy too many closeup shots of Chloe’s nasty-ass face, and I read the spoilers and man that is just dumb, adding to the idiocy I saw in those 23 minutes. But I guess that makes the show consistent! Lots of dumb, far-fetched crap that seems to plague FOX shows that go on for too long. I wonder if their production company does it on purpose because they’re remarkably consistent at being terrible.

This was probably a good show back in the day, what seasons are worth watching all the way through? Would appreciate a suggestion or two. Other than that, I guess I’m done here…damn what a waste of time. [whoa, pun]

That “twist”, was jump the shark territory.

Yes absolutely. This episode was TERRIBLE! They could have done something interesting with Jack being cut off from his electronic umbilical cord but no, instead we get Jack taking some pot shots and a bunch of bullshit back at CTU with getting the servers back in one episode. Cap it off with this mole bs. The only good part was when they had to use that armour to walk through the enemy fire. At least that scene had some intensity, but random ethnic CTU dude was doomed to failure from the start because of the colour of his skin. All I can say is…

DAMMIT!

CTU, they’re called BACKGROUND CHECKS. Ever fucking heard of them?

That twist was more “WTF?.. Really?” than “WOAH I never saw that one coming!”

Nevertheless I still think-
She’s a mole out of convenience, and she still really does love her fiance. I hope she really has convincing motivations, otherwise…
R.I.P. CTU Kid, you had heart and guts.

<3 Renee

This was girlpower episode

My fave part probably had to be Jack telling him that his friend was still alive, meanwhile he had a bullet in his head. That was awesome.

I was watching the show with a friend of mine who doesn’t follow 24.

Me: Guess who going to die first?
Him: Not the white guy?
Me: Yup. :coffee:

Oh yea and that twist is straight bonkers.

Somebody help me out here.
Dana has no problem killing people, with her bare hands, if they get in her face… but he let Boelslaw blackmail her to hell and back. The blackmail included robbing a police evidence vault thingy, where if caught, she would’ve gotten thrown the fuck out of CTU and into a cell, and wouldn’t have been any use to the terrorists… the same terrorists who only recently decided to use the rods in New York… the same New York that Dana and everybody she cares about lives in. Am I missing something in this retarded twist?
LOL @ expecting realism when you’re at the 8th season of 24 .You guys must have been watching a different show for the past 8 years or something.

Hypest ep of the season.

Glad to see Scarlett backing up her man, I think I called that shit too. 24’s getting predictable but this episode was alright. Jack has been on point this season, like he has been every season and when people don’t listen, we all know they meet the grim reaper.

Cry harder ppl

MY HEAD HURTS THIS MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL

Her acting was terrible too.

Arghhhh WTF!

It’s all about execution, compare this twist to Nina Myers or Tony’s, even making Chloe the terrorist would have made more sense considering her personality, this is a complete fail!

Like I said, this Dana bitch is trolling this season, ugh! :bottle:

But at least I know she is gonna be killed eventually. How glorious that will be when it happens. Beheaded, preferrably!!!

I hope the writers know what they’re doing. The season has been good so far.

The moment RANDOM CTU ASIAN tried to get the crew to speed up, that was it for him. Dude broke the Lv. 99 Focus that Jack set up, and lost all the grey meter.

i like how he was like “We’re close!!!” then he died like 30 feet from where they were going

dana with the stone cold steve austin kick to piano wire move, that shit was hallarious.

(during piano wire scene)
dana: GO TO SLEEP!!!

Wow, you people are hard to please. We just had 30 minutes of fully automatic manliness and you all still complain.

To be honest, I started marking out when Dana started Solid Snaking the parole officer. I thought she was just some redneck who flipped out in panic. There’s nothing scarier than a Texas blonde flipping out. So many opportunities.

My heart sank when I found out she was working for the terrorists. It feels like one of the writers just decided to put that twist in on the way to work.

Anyway, still liking this season. :bgrin:
