I recall Kiefer saying in an interview that 24 could work without him. For argument’s sake, let’s say PSYCHO JACK ends up joining the big HALLS OF INTEGRITY in the sky…you guys think Renee could carry the PSYCHO TORCH?

Here’s my guess as to what’s going to happen next season: The season will open, and Jack won’t be there. People will talk about him and imply that he’s dead. Then a few hours in, shit will really hit the fan, and who’s going to come save the day? Jack.
Maybe if it followed Tony, but not Renee for me anyway.
Jack must live on, Jack is the show.
I like the finale, only the first 1 1/2 hrs. Too much talking with the prez in the last bit than trying to clear up the holes with every thing else. S7 was titties though, it sorta died down with the last 4 or 5 hours before the finale but it’s all good. like the change of pace with kim.
S8, I hope to see jack wake up with everyone dead around him in a hospital and he steps outside and see’s a deserted town, city, state, country. resident evil bauer!
That would have been a nice change of pace instead of using the same formula over and over again. I’m still pissed that we never got the Chinese prison epic, and this show’s gonna live and die by terrorism and super conspiracy.

And Tony is literally a zombie now. Risen from the dead and has three bullet holes in him (Renee, Jack, himself)?! Jesus.
^ Although I think Tony is a man completely gone over the deep end and has no proper sense of good left in him, I have to respect the purity of his ambition. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one man that committed to a goal like he was. Shame it cost him his soul.
President Taylor also had to make some big sacrifices that cost her family big. I have a feeling her First Husband won’t be her “Last Husband” if you get my drift. 
i bet jack is gonna come out of surgery fine, to find kim dead from helping him. With her dead, he becomes a man with nothing to live for meaning the last season of 24 with jack going beyond psycho.
Kiefer, before the season even ended, already stated that he will be in the next season. Thank Jebus Tony is not dead.

I wonder if Tony is going to get the Behrooz/President Keeler/Wayne Palmer/Evelyn Martin + daughter/Mike Novick treatment or go out like Mikami from the Death Note manga?
I liked how they completely ignored S6 this season save for the Curtis shoutout from Larry. I expected Tony to drop the little tidbit about Phillip and Graem when he mentioned Alan Wilson to Jack.

If I may be serious for a moment…
Having Michelle be pregnant with Tony’s child essentially puts him in Jack’s shoes from S1. And as much as we want to shake our fingers at Tony for all the bad things he did, Jack has left a pretty big trail of innocents in his wake as well. I think its an interesting parallel and I want to see what, if anything, the writers do with it in S8.
Speaking of S8, the reports are that it takes place a few days after S7? If that’s the case then there’s some things to consider…
– Bauer could potentially be recovering from the miracle cure. I dunno if they’ll kill Kim…maybe have her be paralyized from the procedure?
– Renee would have already done her interrogation of Alan, and has presumably gone rogue.
– Tony…I’d assume he’d be in jail for a number of reasons.
– FIRST PENIS would still be salty over the whole Olivia thing.
Also, I’m not really sure how they could manufacture a new terrorist plot in a number of days…as Taito has been saying, this might be a good chance to have a non-terrorist season. Just focus on the characters and then trying to get to the bottom of the conspiracy.
The whole season might be about taking down the remaining bad guys whose identities are unkown? shrug I really liked the ending. Forgot what it felt like to FEEL for the characters. COUGHCOUGHS6COUGHCOUGH
I think Season 8 will be about tracking down the remaining Patriots. Alan was just one of several. I’m alone in this, but I’m still holding out for BIG BOSS to show up in S8. He’ll be a bad guy of course, but he would be an enemy of the Patriots (based on his comments in S6 about China being the next big thing).

They’ve been setting up Tony’s similarities with Jack for a long time. S3 is a very important season if you want to understand Tony’s M.O. and how he ended up like this… it’s like a less insane version of what Tony did in S7 (everyone ranks S3 low but that’s one reason why it’s been my favorite for a while). Resurrecting dead characters is stupid and should never be done again, but this gamble paid off, and the whole the series has more substance as a result.
