Official 2016 NBA Off-Season Thread: Westbrook staying in OKC for 3 more years. Confirmed MVP

No idea how/why Blazers aren’t getting blown out every night. Did not expect them to still be competitive.

As bad as lillard is on defense, so long as him and cj chuck up enough shots they are always in it because both of them get buckets

Dame + CJ McCollum are beasting it up too

Amazing early-season game.

Clipps come back from 17 down, then the Warriors from 9 down in the 4th. Clippers could’ve taken it if not for some minor mistakes

[] Missed free throws. You expect that from DeAndre, but CP and Paul Pierce both missed two.
[
] DeAndre not showing on the help defense when Curry comes off the screen definitely led to easy 3s.

Regardless of all that, I’m convinced that the key to stopping the Warriors in the 4th is stopping Harrison Barnes. He’s the hero of every close game they win. Curry gets the press, but Barnes got them back in the game with 8 straight points.

Clippers bench showed a flash of what they could be in the second half. Crawford can take anyone off the dribble, so he needs to get into the paint more and stop settling for wild perimeter attempts. If that bench can gel, the Clippers are gonna be trouble.

Rumor going around is that Gerald Green decided to take flakka, or one of those other fucked up drugs that make you lose your mind and hump trees, eat people’s faces, etc.

Some think he’s probably getting cut by Miami by the end of the week.

Highly doubt any of it is true, since there’s no police investigation and no one was arrested.

but… they aren’t winning.

anyways. when deandre airballed that free throw in the 4th, the whole arena went super oakland, like someone just got their ankles broken. it was pretty hilarious.

i lean over to my friend and go, “he’s gonna make the next one now”

it goes in off the back iron.

deandre is a weird guy at the ft line.

Tyson Chandler is the answer.

It’s weird too because it goes into bizarro world for the Clippers/Rockets in crunch time.

Recently, DJ makes clutch FTs and then CP3 misses his free throws and it makes you go WTF.

Even in Houston, Dwight is making his free throws now and Harden is missing easy ones.

It’s all a mental thing at this point for DeAndre. I don’t think folks were too fair to him last season because there were tons of reports that he spending a lot of extra time working on it. Folks acted as if he just decided not to.

Way too early to be giving out any superlatives, but I think ROY is gonna come down to Okafor, Mudiay and KAT. Include Randle in there if he’s still eligible, but I doubt it. Porzingis looks like he’s gonna be the real deal though. They need to trade Melo and build around that dude - it’s not like they’re going anywhere.

Randle isn’t eligible because he played “too many minutes” in his debut.

Lakers are a cluster fuck of bad, they are making Philly look well organized.

Well Philly is well organized, that’s what folks just won’t accept. Quiet as it was, Nerlens had an awesome rookie season and Okafor has hit the ground running, playing as well as you could expect for a rookie big. We have the potential for four first-round picks this coming draft, three of which could be lottery and two of which can be top five. Dario Saric is also coming over next season from reports. Picking up Sauce was a great move as well.

We had a setback with Embiid, but things are starting to come together.

Sometimes a franchise has to accept that the only way to fix your team is strip it down and start over. Hinkie just didn’t try to disguise it.

I mean yes the Sixers are awful, but they have franchise dudes they’re farming out for and even some solid role players they got for potato chips when they do make a run.

They pretty much acknowledged yeah we’re tanking and the fans are fine with it as long as it produces results in the long term which it should.

Someone post that video again so I can LOL it again.

“What a great contract!”

Lmao

“At least he not hurt”

Lmao

It also helps for Philly that they now have discovered a PG that is all about passing the ball to Okafor and Noel.

yeah T. J. McConnell to Noel/Okafor is a nice combo they got going, Saric is coming to the states next year too.

Philly is a very oldschool built team, 2 bigs who play like bigs with a pass first PG. They just need some solid wings players and a slashing SF.
