Same shit, different year with the Sixers. They love their big men while neglecting the fact that their guards are hella weak.
Boring to watch, no defense, no offense, no gameplan. Outside of Okafor and Noel, who are both pretty solid, it’s 95% D-league players. The other 5% are on the DL taking up a roster spot. Fuck this team.
The Lakers are gonna be shit until they get rid of Byron, Kobe’s contract is gone, and the team gets a franchise SF.
Which won’t happen for a while.
And I’m gonna be honest, I don’t care the situation at this point but Russell, Clarkson, and Randle should always be in the 4th quarter no matter what.
Seriously, it’s dumb Byron is making D’Angelo Russell play as an offball guard where he just sits at the corner, asks for the ball and nothing happens.
We did great last year off talent alone. If the Rockets keep up this level of play for another week or so and McHale doesn’t get fired I’m calling it right now that either Dwight or Harden leave ASAP. Or possibly both. How you have that much talent and get blown the fuck up in back to back games to start the season is straight up embarrassing.
You know shit is bad when the only guy playing well is a rookie off the bench. I would trade the whole team for Harrell clones right now these niggas so bad.
Curry looked fucking amazing in the first half. Reminded me what it looks like when someone is actually good at basketball. He’s already in peak form to start the season and that’s bad news for the rest of the league.
Also, Thunder coming out of the gates with a win by any means necessary mentality. And by Thunder I mean the only two players they have worth anything. 80+ points between two players is sick.
Lakers gave up like 70 pts in the first half. Hilarious, but frustrating to watch.
One problem is that they have no wing defenders, and Kobe’s has been a defensive liability for years. Way too many points given up in the paint, and sure Hibbert had 5 blocks but he can only do so much. You essentially have 3 rookies on the floor, so yeah that’s not really helping the situation either.
I believe Russell looks more comfortable bringing the ball upcourt, and with his size I agree he must always play to his advantages and strengths at the 1. Clarkson should be playing off the ball, but he’s not the best 3 point shooter in the world. Randle had 3 pts tonight and that just cannot not happened, period. He needs more touches, and use his speed to break down the defense and get to the foul line.
Besides calling Mitch and Jim incompetent, I still don’t see why we didn’t target a wing defender this off season. We haven’t had one since Metta declined 5 years ago. The only plus defenders we have on the team are Hibbert, Bass to some extent and Brown who’s a rookie. We should have targeted Demarre Carroll or tried to trade for someone this offseason.
Kobe,Russell,Young,Williams,Huertas and Clarkson are all terrible defensively everyone knows that Byron is an awful coach but damn you can’t have those players and expect to defend anybody.
Saving grace no, making them actually watchable? Yes. Covington is so good at shooting that he makes the offense semi work. Sauce can shoot too. Marshall is an NBA point guard and Tony Wroten can go wherever he wants when he is healthy.
Right now its just Noel and Okafor fumbling around with zero help.
The problem with Bass is that even though he’s a player that plays hard, he’s undersized for his position. I’m thinking a poor mans draymond green, perhaps even poorer lol.
Well they entertained Jimmy Butler, if not at least for a while. I would of been fine with the Demarre Carroll pickup, and it’s interesting to note that Metta has not been on the roster these last two games. Until we get some kind of toughness out of Randle, the Lakers will continue to be terrible defensively.
We still have some easy games coming up that are winnable and we shouldn’t have lost that T-Wolves game. Until we can get a decent backup C, Tarik and Bass should be our frontcourt off the bench. Byron should have had the rotations set before the season started.
Towns is already Wolves #1 option. The guy is Anthony Davis 2.0. When was the last time somebody had 28 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks in only their second game?
The genius of Jim Buss hiring Byron is that people like Magic won’t start saying shit all the time. These people saying that we should get rid of him two games into the season are retarded. I don’t think he’s a great coach but I don’t think he’s Mike Brown level.
Pels got bad scheduling luck. Warriors won’t see them until March, so I guess there’s that. But all the injuries and having to pay the warriors twice in the first three games… I would be sad if pelicans struggle to get in the playoffs like last year.
