Also, Posey was clearly, CLEARLY tagged out on that steal - announcers showed the replay like six times and didn’t even mention it. Honestly here, come on.

pps Mariano Rivera is a fucking legend. There are few pitchers out there who keep pitching so dominantly for so long.
Lincecum is a fucking MONSTER. This guy just climbs the ladder on GOOD hitters with high up-in-the-zone fastballs and it just mindfucks them to the point where they KEEP swinging at his pitches in the dirt. Goddamn that was some old-school pitching right there.
Man, if things hold up, the very idea that we may be privileged enough to see a Lincecum-Halladay postseason matchup… Goosebumps…

Rivera alone is enough for me to root for the Yankees, for real. Last year was pretty much symbolic of Rivera’s postseason career. Eight teams, eight closers, seven closers either blew a save or lost, but Rivera came through each time. Five out save, 2 out save, men on or bases empty, 29 or 39 years old, he might be the most clutch baseball player I’ve ever seen.
And he does it in a way we’re not accustomed to seeing it. A lot of closers in the past have tried to build up some sort of invincibility aura by pretending to be mean, crazy, or a badass off the field. These guys last 1 or 2 seasons. Good hitters look at that shit and laugh. These are professional baseball players, you can only fool them with mystique for so long, in the end you still have to throw the damn ball and test your stuff. Mo’s mystique is his LACK of a mystique. He’s not hiding anything. He’s not gonna try to fool you with some random ass shit.
He’s never gonna talk shit about you or your team. He’s gonna go up there, Enter Sandman’s gonna play, and he’s gonna throw ONE pitch. He’s gonna KEEP throwing that pitch. And you probably can’t hit it. That’s it. That’s his “secret”. If you ask Roy Halladay, he’ll tell you that Mo actually taught him how to throw his cutter, just because he asked him.
That and he’s a class act all the way. He’s probably the least hate-able Yankee. I mean, even most of my Red Sox fan friends don’t hate him. (Probably because the Sox are the only team that can SOMETIMES get to him, but that’s beside the point.)

How can you possibly mock a guy who has pitched 136.2 postseason innings, and posted a 0.72 ERA and 0.768 WHIP? If throwing 4-6 outs is so easy, why haven’t more guys had similar success?
Also, for a post-Eckersley closer, he’s one of the few who actually is asked to pitch in non-save situations, as well as throwing more innings pitched (136.2) than total games (91).
Either U B trollin, can’t appreciate greatness, or simply don’t understand the game of baseball. I’m gonna go with trollin, but it may be all of the above.
