Official 2010 MLB season/fantasy baseball thread

Cliff Lee goes to the Rangers… pitches 9 innings and only gives up one run, yet I still can’t get a win.

M’s CURSE!

Phillies are so stupid.

Trade Cliff Lee for a bunch of nobodies to build for the future. Trade their good prospects and JA Happ for Oswalt a couple months later.

Yeah, they should have just kep Cliff Lee with Halladay…that would have been pretty sweet.

But the Astros are sending $11 million, so that’s the difference there, instead of paying Cliff Lee for the whole year.

Is it wrong of me not to want to trade Jose Bautista? The same reasons we want to sell high on him are probably the same reasons no one wants to buy high for him. Makes sense just to keep him another year at 3B, where we have no one right now.

…although if someone suddenly wants to give us a plus prospect or two for him this year, then by all means, get him out.

cliff lee was only making 8 mil this year and they didn’t have to give away anyone to get him!

plus i think cliff lee would sell more jerseys than oswalt but who knows.

also o’s are 0-12 against the blue jays this year lol

You’re right, it’s dumb, keeping Cliff Lee would have only cost money, not prospects.

Who would have known that the offense would have been that limp though - I thought Halladay was going to win 30 games with this team behind him.

Maybe Halladay is the cancer, maybe it’s his own fault he’s never played in the postseason. Yeah, that’s it.

If they do make it though, it’d be pretty sweet - like when the Astros had Clemens/Oswalt/Pettite going. How can you win against a team like that in a 5 or 7 game series?

I’m hoping the Jays actually do get around to trading Downs and possibly Buck for some prospects, but AA keeps asking for too much for either of them. It’d also be nice if we got rid of Overbay, but that’s unlikely.

Count me on the Keep Jose Bandwagon though.

As for the Oswalt trade, they should’ve just kept Lee and saved their prospects, but Hindsight is 20/20.

Why did we trade for Oswalt? What the fuck?

Just trade those shitty guys for Halladay and have Lee and Halladay and BROWN together.

Oh well. At least we got our title. Or just deal fucking Happ for Halladay with taylor.

Stupid Ruben.

Can’t trade Bautista because Escobar will go all emo again. The Jays are so much fun to watch - either they win by 6 runs or lose by 6 runs, rofl.

Both Lee and Halladay, talk about not being able to get any wins. It is insane when you look at their numbers.

fuck the Dodgers. fucking franchise fails at trade deadline deals to improve the club (except the fluke Manny deal when he tore shit up)

SCOTT FUCKIN PODSEDNIK? you serious? I don’t want Juan Pierre back on the club. dumb and useless trade

fix your owner’s divorce issues, imo. Or just get someone in there who knows how to properly utilize such a huge sports market.

Wins are a fucking dumb stat anyway. This is just example #78,375,802,002.

Twitter / Chris Guzy: MLB note: in the last 366 …

MLB note: in the last 366 days, the Phils have traded away 8 of their top 10 prospects from 2009, and 4 of their top 6 prospects from 2010.

its all about right now, also why hold onto doug drabeks kid anyway

he pitched a no hitter on 4th of july

only real americans do that

Jays picked up Mike Jacobs, hopefully meaning that Overbay is gone, hopefully.

Also that Capps trade works well for the Jays as it sets the market value high for Downs.

RBI and HR are dumb stats too, but that doesn’t stop ESPN fantasy league for making them count. I could care less how stupid wins are. I just want wins for fantasy.

Oh and Mariners suck monkey balls.

Like big monkey balls that are uneven.

So Yanks signed Kerry Wood to go along with Berkman and Kearns, I guess sort of a “why the hell not? We’re the Yankees!” kind of move? Like, MAYBE he’ll be good, I dunno. I don’t trust him.

Chan Ho Park designated for assignment, lol. That about does it for him.

No someone will pick him up I guarantee it.

At least our division lead stayed the same. :\
