Official 2010 MLB season/fantasy baseball thread

Too bad I just set the bar as high as it could ever go. Top that assholes.

imo.

lol, great now I have to think of a name.

CC touching his head will just have to be a placeholder for now.

Wow even the MLB board double post for me. Is SRK causing double post disease or something?

Any who good luck to you. (Except Lothar)

When can we start trading draft picks? I want to try and get Fleix, Ichiro and Cliff Lee.

So how many leagues are there, I know I am in the yahoo one but I do not know who runs it lol. If there is an ESPN one I will take that to.

ESPN league is a extension of Basketball FUN League. The baseball league is run by a fellow ROADHOUSE member Clint!

Now me and Lothar just need to take over the NFL and NHL so we can make it official that ROADHOUSE > everyone.

I already won the ESPN NFL league, so ROAD HOUSE has got that on lock. I’m going to troll you and take all Mariners players. Ship it.

imo.

 holy shit lmao

^_-;

So what do you all think of your teams offseasons? What expectations do you got for this season, and why?

PECOTA 2010 projected standings: http://baseballprospectus.com/fantasy/dc/

Look her dumbo. I was talking about commish power. We all run one league as the commish. That NFL league was so retarded it doesn’t count! I love how the commish get 1st overall pick every year. < Really? Nah B we need a FUN NFL league.

That because that all you know how to do. Just wait until your an actual lawyer and you get to play with the real troll masters. They going to troll your ass to death.

I am in for leagues even if it is h2h and espn if you guys have spots. thanks.

I got pick two!

TWOOOOOOOOOOO!!! PUJOLS!!!

Hey I am willing to trade my pick 1st round pick (10th overall) for a 2nd and 3rd round pick.

Oh wait, I don’t have pick two. Clint is going to randomize it. Duh.

Oh well. DARRRYYLLL.

Dammit I already sent Tyson an offer.

btw PECOTA is still broken so their rankings aren’t that accurate.

if you got the full subscription they have Derek Jeter rated as the player with the highest VORP in the entire league. a lot of other crazy stuff, they said they’re working on fixing it

i just noticed they also have javier vazquez as valuable as cc sabathia

Vazquez had a better season than CC did last year in the NL with better peripherals and everything but W-L, that doesn’t sound so wacky.

"in the NL"
HAHAHAHHAHA

Vasquez probably projects to around a 4.00 ERA this season in Yankee stadium and regresses on strikeouts due to not striking out pitchers in the NL.

He was pretty awful with the Yankees the first time around. The rub on him has always been that if he has nothing to play for he plays great but if the team relies on him he’ll fall apart. I’m not sure how accurate that is (Braves were contending till the end of the season and he played well) but that’s what people say.

Receive 2nd Round Draft Pick (22nd Overall) from Sideburns
Receive 3rd Round Draft Pick (27th Overall) from Sideburns
Send 1st Round Draft Pick (10th Overall) to Sideburns

^

 Too bad CL going to reset the draft order. Sigh… I wanted Fleix + Ichiro + Cliff Lee. Then I can go to the games and yell at them “get me fantasy stats!”

1st basemen tiers

Tier 1

Albert Pujols

He does everything (16 stolen bases last season) and is far enough ahead of everyone else to have his own tier.

Tier 2

Prince Fielder
Mark Texeira
Ryan Howard
Miguel Cabrera

Not Pujols but each player is elite in their own right. You know that they’ll get at least 30HR/100RBI. It’s just a matter what else they’ll give you.

Tier 3

Justin Morneau
Joey Votto
Kendry Morales
Adrian Gonzalez

These are guys with the upside of the Tier 2 guys but they have question marks about them whether it’s lack of history (Morales,Votto), injury (Morneau), or team situation (Gonzalez). I don’t see a huge drop off between them and the 2nd tier. I think they provide the best bang for the buck at first base.

Tier 4

Adam Dunn
Kevin Youkilis

These guys are pretty steady. You basically know what you’re going to get from them. Not much more and not much less. They both have eligibility at different positions which doesn’t hurt.

Tier 5

Derrek Lee
Lance Berkman

These guys are getting up there in years but haven’t fallen so far that you don’t think they could have one more big season in them.

Tier 6

Chris Davis
Billy Butler

The young guns at the position. This could be the season they arrive. The potential rewards of picking up these guys outweighs the risks.

Tier 7

Carlos Pena
Todd Helton
Paul Konerko

Each of the players in this tier has a clear weakness to match their strenghts. Pena has power but a poor average. Helton has little power but hits for average. Konerko is a little better in each area. Upside is nil.

Tier 8

Andy Laroche
James Loney
Jorge Cantu

They’ll get you something because they play every day but nothing special except for maybe Laroche after the All-Star break.

Those are my tiers for the 1st basemen. Constructive crucifixtion is always encouraged. I think I’ll do the 2nd basemen tomorrow.
