Official 2010 MLB season/fantasy baseball thread

Someone is gonna find whatever HGH Bautista’s been using at some point lol. His max HR count before this season was 16 and he’s already past that. REALLY? We’ll see.

But hey the Yankees have a shaky bullpen too and we can’t hit worth a god damn all of a sudden. So enjoy your home runs!

3 winning weeks in a row, largest division lead? fall back espn fun league

daydrinker gonna have a bad week running into a buzzsaw that is me

clint spent overtime downplaying our division, but somehow we still the hottest teams in the game. it just sucks that we have to beat up on each other when we’re all clicking

Sorry buddy, I can’t hear what you’re saying all the way up here in FOUR WINS IN A ROW LAND.

Pft, largest division lead - you’d only be Earth’s Third Mightiest Hero if you weren’t evil.

You’re right though, I had no idea the Padres were actually doing this well. I guess it’s more like the AL Central but without the Twins…? This is a bad analogy path that I should never have started upon.

damn 4 weeks is nice, record is 5?

when we meet up in a couple of weeks could be your 9 week winning streak losing to my 8 week one as long as you don’t manage to lose between now and then cause i won’t. you still nice though just i mean you’re not really on my level yet. you’ve been getting fat on that crappy league we dominated 4-0

i would dominate more but for some reason i decide to add players who aren’t even in the MLB to my roster, drop pitchers for them, and then my pitchers go on the DL right after so I have no one to pitch all week for me

Welp, back-to-back 2-11-0 weeks have dropped me from fourth to last in the Basebrawl rankings.

Once again, fuck the league manager for having only three bench spots.

Monster Island actually beat the Masters of Evil 8-7-1 over the course of Weeks 4 to 7.

You don’t still have Brett Wallace on your team, do you? He’s supposed to stay in Triple A all year regardless of how bad Overbay gets.

Romero was a good pickup though - I would have done it myself, but I am now too afraid to jinx players for my hometown teams with my fantasy curse. I am directly responsible for ending Frank Thomas’ career.

yep 4-0 in last week overall doesn’t matter if you get raped that bad

brett wallace like was an accident. i was just looking at him and i clicked the plus button and then all of a sudden i’m dropping people and i’m like wait what did i do. romero i got in like week 2 ballinggggggggggggg

i should of just auto drafted though because everyone i drafted was worthless, couldn’t of done worse autodrafting. everyone i drafted is performing way below every projection system. every guy i picked up in the late rounds or added through free agency when no one was thinking about them has been balling out of control.

then i was like i like derek holland and i was gonna drop zobrist for sucking so i gave him to lothar and then derek holland died and zobrist is godlike. should of offered sizemore instead IMO

this year has been pretty bad for betting in the first 45 days or so. if you piece it out i’m making like $3/hour. doing much better now that i’m relying more on seaosn stats vs projections. i really think we’re seeing the effect of stricter drug testing in mlb.

Stricter drug testing? Explain the 2010 Blue Jays then.

YOU CANNOT!

Cito using that voodoo magic.

Question - Can one buy and download the CLE/DET Near Perfect Game on Xbox LIVE?

It’s actually just another case of the Blue Jays failing. If you look at their projected 2011 team it’s a bunch of nobodies.

Buck, Overbay, and Gonzalez are free agents and probably gone. Frasor and Downs are gone. They only money they’re really committed to that is huge is Wells and Aaron Hill (like 32 mil between them).

Their best option would be just to get rid of everyone around the all star break and bring up people like Wallace to get some playing time. But now that they’re actually looking decent this won’t happen and all these people will just disappear and they won’t get anything for them. Even though Frasor and Downs have been scrubs someone would take a chance on them. Overbay they might be stuck with, but people would take Buck (bring up Arinicibia) and Gonzalez.

Right now too they’re running hot as hell. Not getting many hits overall but their slugging is ridiculously high. And look at the teams they beat outside of the Yankees in series: Rangers, Orioles, White Sox, Royals, Athletics and Indians. Not really the best teams out there (except the Athletics of course).

VS the rest of the AL East:

2-3 vs. Rays
1-5 vs. Red Sox
6-0 vs. Orioles
2-1 vs. Yankees

And wins against the Orioles shouldn’t even count, you’re right.

I don’t know what’s going on with this team - the have such terrible OBP and yet they keep jacking them out, it cannot possibly be sustainable. I was saying this ten games in and like a third of the season has passed and I’m still saying it…they could be 1 game out of the Wild Card on the last day of the season and I’ll still be saying it.

Frasor and Downs really need to get it together so that their stats look a little better so that they can get traded at the deadline. There was a lot of talk about swinging them before the season started, but I guess the thinking was that contending teams might be willing to overpay more at the deadline for a good reliever…but who thought they would both be this sucky? Backfired!

I can understand why guys like Wallace aren’t getting called up so early though - it makes no sense for the context of contending this season, and I don’t think you need to rush guys up for MLB playing time when they’ve barely had any Triple A at-bats yet. Furthermore, it makes no sense to push guys up to Super Two or eat up valuable arbitration years just to give them playing time, especially for a team that must rely very heavily on cost controlled guys like the Jays.

Bautista’s the trickiest guy - I don’t know if you swing him at the deadline while his value’s at it’s absolute highest…or if you keep him for next year because you think he’s legit and not a scrub. I think since September last year, he’s been leading the MLB in homers…shit is stupid.

Jays don’t have any big position prospects almost at the MLB level that need MLB playing time. This year’s more about giving the pitchers some MLB innings. As long as Cito is gone next year, things will be looking up.

Cito lost the game for them yesterday. Pitch to Cano with Posada behind him? This isn’t 2005

Cito’s lost a lot of games for the Jays. I would not consider bullpen management as one of his strong points.

I don’t know the baseball

daydrinker coming at me mad hard this week

Strasburg didn’t no-hit them.

I knew he was overrated…

did better than lincecum did though

also blue jays welcome to the AL East. getting owned by a real team

over-rated? The dude did great.

I was all ready to drop Niemann today preparing for him to get shit on by the Blue Jays and then he raped them.

imo.
