Official 2010 MLB season/fantasy baseball thread

the only surprising things from the mariners this week was that they somehow managed to score 13 runs in one series

that will probably never happen again

How about the jays starting the season with beating texas 2-1 in the first series of the season. Could the jays be catching fire and go on a run similar to the Rays 2 years ago?

Is this a rhetorical question?

No.

They gave up 17 runs. That may happen again if this pitching continues.

That may be a tough month. May be.

ALright Astros, time to get into season shape and beat the phillies.

The Phillies are gonna be one tough team this year with the doc as number one in the rotation.

Good thing Mariners drafted Morrow before Lincecum. It gave them the chance to troll LOLTORONTO better.

imo.

They don’t have the pitching depth of the Rays. They also didn’t make enough of the smart moves to acquire veteran leadership that the Rays did. They also don’t have motherfucking Evan Longoria.

tl;dr Jays still suck ass.

WTF Vasquez is getting shit on, can’t handle that cowbell. :frowning:

So Ichiro tries to steal 2nd on a ball 3 pitch to Kotchman, gets thrown out by a mile, and Kotman ends up drawing a walk on the next pitch, rendering that attempted steal pointless.

Good job, Mariners.

Edit: Jesus Christ our rotation (outside of Felix) is still allowing runs. This is pissing me off.

ANGRY EDIT: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

This is all your fault, VSlash!

Mariners.

imo.

is there anyone in the AL West the Mariners could beat? I don’t think so

A’s keep on rolling

I dunno I think the Nationals are still pretty bad?

LOL JAVIER VAZQUEZ.

GO RAYS.

imo.

The thing abut this city is that it’s very transient friendly. Not very many locals here as at least half of the population here is from the northeast. Plus we had 3 major league teams that had spring training here years before the Rays were came out (Jays, Phillies, and Yankees) so of course you’re going to have fans of those teams that just wont make the change. We are getting more people out to our games though now that they are good (I mean be honest with yourself, would you drive 30 minutes just to watch a bad product on the field? before 2008)

As far as the stadium issue goes they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The most ideal spot would be in the heart of Tampa (next to Raymond James stadium) but they can’t do that because the yankees spring training facility is right across from Raymond James. And if IIRC a friend of mine explained to me that because of this the Rays can’t move there because the yanks will not let them due to they cant be within a certain distance or something to that affect (and from a business standpoint it makes sense). They can’t go to Downtown Tampa cause there is absolutely NO ROOM there. So unfortunately for them, the best place for them is where they are at right now.

They’re trying to build a new stadium a little bit closer to Tampa (still in the St. Pete area) but they can’t build anything out in Clearwater(Phils), Dunedin(Jays), or Tampa(Yankees)

And I agree the powder blue jerseys are ass

As

I’m kinda glad I missed the end of that game against the Giants now that I think about it.

Heyward’s going to get over this rookie slump though, and learn how to hit pitches on the outside. But 4 strikeouts is pretty lame.

F in Trevor Hoffman!!

Four pitchers and random batters strat working in fantasy. Suck it Clint.

Ump assist we’ve been getting at 1st doesn’t prevent that botched throw to the plate that allows 2 runs to score. Nice job.

Jinxing Sabathia’s no-no.

imo.
