Official 2010 MLB season/fantasy baseball thread

Right after old ass Posada, who came up through the system like any other player? Besides, if you so mad about Granderson tell me why your team didn’t buy him first?

Yankees spend money to make money, they sell tickets consistently and push brand awareness worldwide, which in turn gives them more money to put back into their business. Why doesn’t your team do the same? There’s some owners out there who have the money to spend but own their team as a novelty and don’t spend the money, or spend it improperly. Haters just gonna hate without any real backing behind it, I’ve actually had a Sox fan try to tell me Boston was a small market team a few years back with the 2nd highest salary in the league. I’ve got no time for people whining and crying about the Yankees having a lot of money.

Be jealous, hater.

I’m not jealous, you are just a dumb fggt.

If I didn’t like the Phillies I’d be a huge asshole Jankees fan. I’d be like “Fuck you, we do what we want when we want” You are doing it completely wrong. I never said anything about the money. I know how they get it. I never said they are a bad team for throwing that money around. You’re the one who got all dickhurt when I said what they do, mainly because you a fggt.

Besides, Phils already have 3 good outfielders and have Domonic Brown waiting to replace one of them. RAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

Red Sox have the 4th highest spending and Yankees are far and away the first.

Typical misinformed Yankees fan.

imo.

Yankees fans aren’t known for their intelligence.

White Sox…good opener.

Baseball fans in general aren’t known for their intelligence. Especially the Yankee haters.

lol @ hating on the Yankees for doing what every single team wishes they could do. It’s the poor kids hating the rich kids, but the rich kids don’t care because at the end of the day, they’re rich.

gtfo with that scrubby shit.

^_-;

braves on pace to score 24,786 runs this season

told you they would be good

I’m not even necessarily hating on the Yankees for it. It’s just bullshit that Yankees fans lie through their teeth and say that the Sox, Mets, Phillies, etc are all just as bad when the Yankees have…what? A $60 million lead on them?

Man up and say “yeah, we buy players for the hell of it, there’s no cap” rather than saying “…well…well…THE SOX GOT JOHN LACKEY SO THEY’RE JUST AS BAD!” That’s a bitch move.

Like VSLASH said, why do Yankees fans even try to deflect that shit. It’s like a child rapist pointing out a murderer and saying, “Look he does bad shit too,” while clearly the child rapist is the worse person. Just accept it and move on instead of making shit up or deflecting the blame. Sheesh.

imo.

Nelson Cruz is a beast, let none deny this.

Chris Davis is also a useless waste of flesh, let none deny that.

That Adam Lind extension looks better and better every day. Sometimes I wish I rooted for a team that didn’t need to worry about developing cost-controlled and cost-effective rosters…but then it kind of takes the fun out of baseball.

Yeah, take THAT, VS!

Posada was homegrown New York talent! (Who happens to be paid $13.1 million a year, the highest ever average salary for a catcher before Mauer.) And so was Jeter! ($189 million contract, the second biggest contract in baseball at the time. Next to A-Rod, who also just happens to be on the Yankees.)

Man, you brainless Yankee haters don’t know NOTHING.

This is true, actually. Every team wishes they could just buy championships. Unfortunately only the Yankees can really do it.

I totally wish I was a Yankees fan. I also wish I could cheer for the house at a blackjack table without looking like a douche, but that’s impossible too.

If I was a Yankees fan, I would be more than happy to embrace my true destiny as a fan who essentially roots for the house. That seems to be the best part of it, but instead there’s all these other delusional asshats who always try to impossibly argue otherwise. Fuck, just stop fighting it and embrace your true destiny as an asshole. That’s what I would be more than happy to do.

no no its they buy potential championships.

Yeah that’s true, sometimes they can’t even get that right.

When you outspend every other team by a margin the size of two Tampa Bay payrolls and still can’t get it done…that’s just depressing.

I just think it’s hypocritical if you’re a sox fan to hate on the Yankees for payroll. That’s like a rich kid making fun of another rich kid for being rich. Makes you look like ungrateful fucktards, not acknowledging the fact that the ENTIRE rest of the league lumps the Sox and the Yanks together in terms of teams who buy all the good players. I mean, if you’re a Tampa Bay or Florida fan I’d be sympathetic, but if you’re repping Boston and you’re making snide remarks on the Yanks payroll you’re just being silly.

Also, the whole “The Yankees do nothing but buy championships” idea is ignorant. Remember 1998? The Yankees 114 win season? Yeah, they were outspent by 7 million by the Baltimore Orioles.

It wasn’t until AFTER the most recent Yankees dynasty (Centered around players like Bernie Williams, Paul O Neil, Scott Brosius, etc) that they started vastly outspending everyone in the league, and it took nearly a decade of over spending and paying bums like Carl Pavano to eat twinkies to finally win one.

So yeah, the Yankees do go and spend their money. I don’t always agree with it, but they are my team. But if you’re one of those “All of Derek Jeter’s rings were only because of money” idiots, you’re just showcasing your baseball ignorance.

Sure they had a lot of money, but winning those rings helped them get more money and attract more free agents. Funny thing about winning a bunch of championships in a row…

^_-;

Natinals on pace to allow 78,234 runs this season.

11*162 isn’t even close to 78,234

but they had 6 runs 0 out

6 runs/out * 3 outs in an inning * 8.5 innings/game [assuming they win every game at home] * 162 games = 24,786

sadly they’ve only scored 2 runs since then :frowning:

btw, any of you guys planning to ATTEND a game this season? I’m going to the Yanks/Rangers game on the 16th. Best thing about new Yankee Stadium is The food, lol Boar’s Head ftw!

^_-;

So over the last 12 years, the only time the Yankees won a championship and weren’t #1 in payroll…was when they were #2 in payroll.

Good stuff.

Astros will be taking it all this year … bet on it :frowning:

Yep, and there was a HUGE financial disparity between the Yanks and the rest of the top 3 all of those years. :rolleyes:

^_-;

My team is mashing so hard today.

Suck it ckrazy.

imo.
