why is anyone shocked when a “big” free agent gets more than he should?
also… finger @3.5M

So I’m getting pretty stoked on Keith Ballard, despite the fact he two hand slashed his goalie before. He’s only played on second and third tier teams so far and put up some decent high lights
Welcome to the Canucks dude, hope you lay some big hip checks this season! On the same note I don’t look at the fact that Grabner and Bernier are gone as being really bad at all. Bernier gone is a plus but Grabner could have been a break out forward, too bad he’s gonna rot in Florida.
Versteeg traded to Toronto, looks like Kaberle is gonna make it to free agency.
Another cut: Chicago Blackhawks deal Kris Versteeg to Toronto Maple Leafs - ESPN Chicago
lol kaberle is still gonna go possibly
i’m loving this deal though. Kinda sad that we lose Paradis before we even saw what he could do, but the other two I could care less about.
edit:
lmfao Ottawa overpays Gonchar, Montreal has no clue wtf to do for a backup goalie, and Calgary is comprised of ex-Flames and ex-Leafs
hahahahahaha I love being a leaf fan
gonchar for 5.5 is not really overpayment
he is an elite offensive dman
komisarek says you shouldnt throw rocks at glass houses
wtf? he fought crosby haha.
ahhhh wtf, the leafs signed colby armstrong. I fucking hate that asshole.
i like versteg too…but shit i was looking forward to seeing what stallberg was going to turn out to be. Oh well.
it is when he will be almost 40 when the contract is done, and its a no MOVEMENT clause (no benching him, trading him, sending down to minors, NOTHING).
komi is almost 10 years younger too lol
meh, generic euro player at best…i’m kinda sad Paradis never got a chance to shine.
still a few guys out there…defence are now quite valuable, and Kaberle is a quality, cheap, defencemen
Great news. Boogaard to the Rangers. The Oilers physicians must be happy.
haha flames fans want savard
he has mentioned many times he does not want to play in the west
Canucks sign Malhotra, most likely as a third line center, peace out Kyle Wellwood your effort in the playoffs was appreciated.
flames… resign… jokinen???
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Jokinen? More like CHOKEINEN! AMIRITE!?!?!?
Lol at Jokinen, but I thought it was dumb to trade him as soon as they got Hagman who was a good fit and they played on national teams together, I guess they’re trying to set that up for next year.
And I know I’m late but Canucks sign Hamhuis
So stoked for next season.
Word on the street is sharks offered Malhotra 2.2 Million, but Manny’s wife is from BC so that may have been a factor in his decision.
Word on the streets is Sharks are working to get Kaberle for ‘players that can play now’ for Toronto.
lot of words on these streets
hockeybuzz keeps saying LA and Toronto going for Kovulchuk…i joked about Toronto getting him, but man, if we do I will lol so fucking hard and rub it in my buddies face HORRIBLY
i dont think he will go to toronto
he stated he doesnt want to go to a fishbowl market
but he is a russian and a greedy one at that, so who can trust him
LA is just posturing…they did FUCK ALL at the free agent frenzy, and best they can do now is trade prospects and actual players (i hear Doughty wants a small contract, LA wants to lock him down for 10 years).
New Jersey, he does NOT wanna stay there, especially with Brodeur retiring soon.
Toronto has a huge advantage with Kaberle, now more valuable due to all the good defence being gobbled up. Plus they’re rebuilding, and Burke is one HELL of a GM. He is well known for being smart with assigning no movement/trade contracts, and Toronto can afford lucrative bonuses Plus he’s been REALLY secretive with who he was going for July 1st, and the leafs still have cap room and can just dump Kaberle for draft picks if we need to free up more.
crazy times…
Where the heck do you hear these things? I also heard the Maple Leafs got a first round pick from the Hurricanes.
