Kadri’s fine. A little overwhelmed, but you get flashes here and there that let you know when he gets some meat on him, and gets used to the pace of the NHL, he’ll do fine. LOVE him on the shootout though.

That trade blew up in the Leafs face and its obvious. Burke took a chance and figured they’d be good since he re-tooled the D and that those picks would be in the 15-30 range probably and it bit him in the ass.
So Seguin, Knight, and one of (Couturier, Larsson, or RNH) for Kessel…Yeah solid trade!

Obivously it would have been better if the picks ended up being low picks. If they didn’t make that trade maybe they would have ended up better in the standings and been stuck with those picks. Eitherway, until i see one of those players turn into kane, stamkos or crosby it’s not a horrible trade…and even then if the leafs get their shit together and kessel is putting up 30 goals and 80 points a year it’s not a horrible trade either

Well, lets see. Seguin is 18 years old, playing on an extremely deep Bruins squad. The other draft pick isn’t in the NHL yet but is at a PPG pace in the OHL and the last player hasn’t even been drafted yet lol. But are they better than Kessel? Gimme a break.
And how many top 3 picks have flopped in let’s say that last 10 years? I’d say about 5 at the max. So yeah, most likely Seguin or the other pick or both will be a homerun.

To me the Phanuef trade was worse than the kessel trade, even though they gave away nothing to get him ( so in the eyes of the douche media it’s a steal) but he’s overrated and he gets paid to much and people think he’s worth more than he actually is. Plus the kessel trade was a risk on both sides…i bet burke wouldn’t have gave away two first rounders if he knew they would be top 2 picks…just like the boston guy wouldn’t have asked for 2 if he knew they were going to be 2 top picks.
