[Oct 14, 2011] Season's Beatings: Velocity - U.S. vs. World 2, $5K MvC3/SF4 (Columbus, OH)

Wife and kids bro, got them responsibilities of being a family man. XD

lol indeed im in the same boat but she is coming with me.

Me and a couple of buddies have a room at the University Center for Friday and Saturday, and could use a 4th to fill it out. If anyone needs a place to stay, PM me.

EDIT: Room is full now, thanks for your interest

Sorry for the late announcement on this but I just got approval for it so here goes.

I will be running both X-Men vs SF and Marvel vs Capcom 1 tournaments on Friday night @ 6pm. $5 entry, double elim, standard 70/20/10 percentage payout (unless it’s 8 entries or less, then the payout turns into 75/25). The format will be on CPS2 boards using a supergun w/2x laugh converters. Find me anytime on Friday for signups. I’ll be the 6’0" tall and thick white man with Bernie on my name badge, likely side betting on stuff all weekend.

I also want to run a SF Alpha 2 tournament on the same setup (if there is interest), either Friday night if we can fit it in with enough time, or if not on Friday, then on Sunday morning. If anyone attending is interested, please post up and I’ll plan for it accordingly.

Yeah I think we’ll have two superguns out at once for Bernie so both or even A2 as well should be able to go down Friday afternoon/night. We’re working out the best place for the them tomorrow. These games are so gdlk  get in there! How often do you get to play them and learn them at high level in person?

Anyone? Help someone out my team bailed D:

signed up last minute… philly where you at…

So my friend still has that room at University for Friday and Saturday. No one is interested?

I can build ps2 -> PS3/360 converts (as well as Saturn ->PS3/360).

Who’s going down to Columbus on Thursday night? We should have a decent sized-group to play games with each other and stuff. I think it’d be a neat idea, plus a good opportunity to make new friends, etc.

ONLY HOURS LEFT TO PRE-REG!!!

Alrighty SRK, so I just registered and payed my fee, but I’m not sure what else I need to do to get into the event
First time checking out a tournament, so I’m not sure what all I need to have ready. Not competing, just gonna chill out and play some casuals

So, I just called the Red Roof to confirm the details for my reservation.

According to the guy I spoke with, they currently have 0 remaining non-smoking rooms available for this weekend… and -5 smoking rooms available… lol. First come first served!

Can’t wait, this is going to be hype. Wonder if Daigo’s is coming so that he can get revenge this year from last-year infamous upset. I’m so looking forward to the US vs World Team exhibition, I really hope they the World Team takes it.

Quick question. I’m going, but not playing in any tournament. So I’m fully ready and willing to run brackets for any game with any format at any time. How do I go about volunteering? Do I just find you (Ghaleon) on Friday morning and ask? What’s the process?
Thanks.

Probably just bring your paypal receipt so they know you’re legit. Maybe that’s not required this year, but we needed 'em last year. If you aren’t playing anything just bring yourself and a healthy supply of HYPE.

You have till 3 am to register. Then super emergency registration starts for one FINAL day (Tuesday) at $45. Then we are absolutely capping online reg so we can have the brackets FINISHED and posted (with room for walk-ins if possible).

Our online reg is getting absolutely blown up. It’s possible we reach the cap through online so do NOT count on a walk-in registration (which will be $50). REG and know your bracket in advance!!!

It’s helpful if you bring your Paypal receipt but not requested.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: Your Gamertag, AND the NAME and EMAIL of the person who registered you. e.g. if you reg’d under a parent/sponsor/friend/benefactor/girlfriend.

Here are two more hotels that are still walking distance if you need:

Wait a sec. How long are the lines going to be to get your badge?

how much would i have to pay?

Depends on whether or not he gets someone else also. I think right now he said it was 105 a night, so divide that by 2 or more if you know someone else.
