Ok to make it simpler I would like to do it like this. If we can get 8 people interested I would like the game to be Last Blade 2 unless there just happens to be a big uproar that it should be Garou. If less than 8 people we will use whichever isn’t the main game to determine the seeding. All on official Neo hardware and I will be providing everything.
Bosses are not banned in Garou unless the community decided to ban them for this however they are banned in Last Blade as are all infinities I will be competing but not playing for the prize so if I win then second place will get the gift card. Since it’s so small and I will be set up on a solitary TV in the back I’ll be using pen and paper for brackets and results. If you loose or get mad, don’t throw my shit. NeoGeo stuff is VERY difficult and VERY expensive to replace so go trash somebody’s xbox stick if you keep walking into a Hibiki parry xx Super. I need to discuss some things with you before the tournament FullSchedule so I may call you earlier in the day.
Again people, these are amazing games, free to play, and if you win you get a GameStop gift card fully furnished by my pocket. If you don’t like the store, we’ll I’m sure you can work something out or just talk to me.
Hope some people decide to play, remember this is going to be on arcade hardware so any little nuances you get from the home ports may not work here.

Just a few public announcements and an update about what’s going on this Saturday (July 7th).
GCE #4.5: Since EVO 2012 is this weekend, and we have a few of our very own attending, we thought it’d be great to have an “informal” GCE and support them by watching the EVO stream together at LiveWires! Since it’s informal, we don’t intend to have any tournaments, but if people are still interested, we could host a small tournament, along with the casuals and money matches. It will probably be decided at the venue whether a tournament will occur, so bring your money if you’re interested! There will still be a $5 venue fee for the whole night, and we will stream EVO on a few TVs at LiveWires. We might even order pizza if people are interested! Make sure to bring copies of your favorite games!!
Charity Update: We have, so far, raised $57 for Child’s Play! Hooray! We plan on donating it through PayPal once we reach/surpass $100 and we will confirm the donation with you all – it will be coming from Gulf Coast Encounters. Look out for future charity tournaments! Thank you all for your contributions!!
Bead Sprites: ALSO, if anyone is interested, I do like to make bead sprites (perler beads) in my spare time and am happy and willing to sell!! The price would be dependent on the size, but an average sized sprite would probably be $5. Just let me know!

Probably going to make it out to the next one. I wanted to ask you guys if you could whip up a quick GCE promo (or promos for any other upcoming events or regular get-togethers that you have) that the Bama guys could use on our streams. It could be something as simple as a single slide with the pertinent info (name of event, location of event, date(s) of event, schedule, games, etc), and we’d put it up onscreen in between matches along with promos for our own state events. I just think it would be a good idea for the southeast to cross-promote each other when possible. Let me know if you’d also be willing to run some for us on your stream if I can get some for you.
Sixfortyfive, that sounds great. I will need some time to put some of the promos together, but I’m definitely interested. We will also try to make it up to your next event if the timing is right. Just send over your promos and I’ll add it to my stream.
Also, I think Tallahassee is coming down for GCE #5 - so it should be a good one.

What time does the venue open in case we want to get there early?
I believe the venue is supposed to open at 12pm, but to be safe, I would say around 2pm - that is usually when the first few people get there.

Any chance I could crash somewhere down there on either the weekend of the 8th or the 22nd? Shoultz has suggested coming down for sessions sometime and I wanna take him up on the offer before SB.
Sixfortyfive, Stefan (friend of Shoultz) said that you can crash at his place. It is about 10 minutes away from Live Wires on Highway 98. He’s a good guy and consistently plays with the Pensacola community. Let me know if that works for you.
I’m moving out to an apartment in Pensacola next month, so in future instances I’d be able to let you crash at my new place.
