That’s cool you are setting all this up. Hope it does well and there are future tournaments with more games.
Thanks Muffman, we’d still love to see you come out even though we don’t have your game yet. Any and all support helps - our goal is to build this up and create a strong fighting game community for NWFL. No one knows about our scene yet, but its all good - we’ve got some hidden killers.
I really would love to see a local scene, so will prob attend even though I don’t like umvc3. If there is a chance for a local scene we need everyone in attendance. It’s the only chance to have future tournaments, and future games besides umvc3. If you guys make flyers let me know, I’ll post a couple up at UWF. This sounds awesome, but don’t want to get my hopes up. Seems like there are a descent amount of marvel players in the area, but then everyone else is divided up among the other fight games. I have no idea why it is this way, or at least seems this way. But I guess it is what it is.
It probably has a lot more to do with the amount of games than the community. From my experience (I’m from Ft. Walton), we have a lot of players that like Marvel or Tekken.
Hey! Im from the Mobile area and I’m going to try to attend. I want to support the local FGC, regardless if my games are being played or not. My vote goes to KOF13!
Thanks for your support ReignOfChaosVII - we were having Marvel casuals just last night and there was a LOT of interest in KOF13 amongst the Marvel players. Do you play with anyone in your area on KOF13? Just trying to see whos all out there for this game.
I’ll try and come out for this (I can’t really play Marvel at all, so I’ll just be spectating).
I can bring my SCV disk…
@FullSchedule - By all means I’m happy to support. I don’t know anyone from the Mobile area who plays fighting games. I got my start in Tuscaloosa with the college’s fight night group.
@Drake Aldan - I personally wouldn;t mind throwing down in soul calibur. main game will be marvel for me but i really want to have more games to play just in case. i wuold jsut need to learn the game a little and stuff. Last soul Calibur i played was 3 but i did get like 20 minutes of game time on V
I havent tried SCV yet. Not really big into the 3D fighters, but ill give it a shot.
Glad there is interest for KOF!
Is there any interest in Blazblue around also? I actually do know someone who wishes to learn/play the game that may be riding with me (If i can get my work shift covered).
might be a few people that are interested in blaz. i know i was used to play.
Might as well express interest ans try to get the games out there. I might bring a setup so people can try kof and blazblue ( if i can get the evening off.) Have to help spread interest.
KOF looks like such a fun game to learn.
I just think everyone in the community should come out and support the scene. I know it stinks if marvel isn’t your game of choice, but the thing is meeting your local community is the whole point of this event imo.
If you like a game, bring a copy with you. I am sure SOMEONE would love to try a few games here and there. You may even win over some people to be new competition.
For everyone interested in KOF would you be interested in the older King of Fighter games like 98? I have it on my NeoGeo and will gladly bring the setup and can hook it all up on a tv on the side.

I’ll give older kof games a try. I’ve played kof2002um from the marketplace and its great.
off topic for a sec, any one who has PCB soldering skills showing up? I’ve never soldered before and I got a chuthulu board to dual mod my sf4 Te.
I will definitely try out KOF, Skullgirls, and SFxT - I have never even powered them on but I’m down to support whatever - as soon as we finalize which games have the most interest we’ll add em to the lineup. I’m taking notes!
I meant to ask but what system will be there, xbox or PS3? I have no idea what the standard is for everything now but my only stick that is for current systems is xbox and I have no desire to dual mod or anything like that. Also are there stairs leading into this place? I have never been by it before but I cannot remember aside from a couple places anywhere on Shorline that is two story. I ask because I tore my knee about 10-11 days ago so I am on crutches and unable to walk up any steps.
I actually make my own Arcade Sticks and I have soldered a 360/PS3 Chuthulu into my own stick. I have not actually done the mod on a TE though. I’m currently finishing up some sticks at the moment and will probably be soldering within the next few months.
The owner has several stations set up with both PS3 and XBOX, but Marvel is going to be played on XBOX. There are no stairs leading up to the place, just a straight walk in on the first floor.
