Arcade: Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty - Moves about as fast as SF Hyper Fighting… Otherwise it’s right behind the US Saturn version.
JP Saturn: Suiko Enbu OotLD - Unplayable… Well, I shouldn’t say unplayable, as I’ve gone through this version quite a few times. But it moves too slow, like they dropped the frame rate, it just feels like you’re moving in slow motion. And it’s missing some animation, mostly just the round intros for certain characters.
US: Dark Legend - I consider it the best playing version. It moves as fast as SF HF, and the controls are very lenient, unlike the arcades strict timing. Like some of the charge moves, you didn’t have to charge in Dark Legend, you could just press downback - forward + button. And absent is the second to last boss, who fights on his horse, I don’t know his name. He won’t attack you until the timer gets down to about 30 seconds, at which he’ll only attack you with one attack… A lightning attack, which you’re not able to block, and if it hits you, it kills you with one hit…
Also missing is the speech throughout the game as you’re playing…
PSX: Suiko Enbu OotLD - Has no parallax scrolling or background animation as found in all of the other versions. The games speed is faster, but at the cost of missing frames. Has Mizoguchi from Fighters History as a hidden character, who can be used in 2 player vs. It’s not a bad version, it just doesn’t feel as polished, or smooth like the US version.
I thought Mizoguchi was only in the Saturn exclusive update, Suiko Enbu Fuun Saiki? I thought Fuun Saiki was the best version (I do have the US Saturn release).
Yes, I kind of remember that you mentioned that the Saturn version was better, but I didn’t know that it was the US version. Thanks for the version analysis, NEBULOSO. :bgrin:
Anyone hear of Jang Pung 3? (Sorry if someone already mentioned it I have not the time for 13 pages).
It is really the sequel to a bad SF2 pirate but it has its own characters. It really is good for what it is! And the bad guy is a Nazi cyborg dinosaur!
Since I find it on a rom site (and they are a no-no), I’ll link to printscreen of that site (you can find more with your own Google).
h, we all believe there’s that one fighting game from some time ago hasn’t been played because it wasn’t popular amongst you and your cavemen, but it had some type of mechanic that would keep you hooked. I’ve stumbled upon a few of those within these past 6 years. For Example; A couple of hours ago through my regular match video search I’ve stumbled upon a japanese import title by the name of “Slap Happy Rhythm Busters” which was made by the same folks who has created “Fighter’s Impact” and “V.S”. My first video had me amazed, but weirded out. I introduce to you Jet Set Radio-esque fighting game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prp6i4RHIcs
I thought to myself that this is another game on the list I gotta show some folks. I really don’t care how they will receive the abnormalty of the game, but according to how short the attack recovery is within this game, it’s mechanics seem close to that of a SF target combo, with a hint of some breaker’s revenge. I will test it out.
Other games I haven’t caught a thread or a proper match vids for are games by the name of
Update: Hopefully the good ol’ folks from the thread I started
come here to this thread. Theres already meat and potatoes in each page lol.
Fuuka Sigma Taisen is a nicely polished(in terms of graphics) 2D doujin fighting game. I downloaded the trial today and it plays close to TvC and Melty Blood
Tales of ACS is one of my favorite games designed in the enterbrain game maker. The Combo vid maker was kind enough to help me update my version of the game. It needs more exposure(shout outs to the forum heads on the tales.namco forum, you guys were helpful)
Mai Girls Revolution was made in the same game maker enterbrain. It plays like MvC1 and is quite fun, despite its roster filled with little girls. I have this game and the game engine is the reason why I play this game
sorry for the oversaturation of stuff, but i’m glad there’s a thread on this topic
You must mean Warriors. The game must be played with another person. From what I could gather, you kinda die if you don’t do anything. It is weird. Most say that Warriors is the first fighting game ever (though some say it is that boxing game sega made, don’t know much about it).
Anyone remember the old Jackie Chan in Fists of Fire 2 (IS GODLIKE) thread? That was an awesome game, and I’ve been wondering if people are still playing it.
