Obscure Emu'd fighter roundup

Has anyone mentioned Voltage fighters Gowcaizer?

or Garou mark of the wolves?

Gowcaizer is awesome. But the mechanic to take others moves I don’t really like.

And Garou is very much not obscure, it’s quite well known among fighting gamers :razzy:
There’s a pretty big thread about it somewhere, either in FGD section or in Other Games section.

I remember that game, its alright but it makes me want to play Mugen…

Yeah it’s a chinese/korean hack.
I’ve seen this cartridge in some obscure shops in Akiba (that have disappeared since), and it was worth 12800 Yen or even more !

Here’s a couple of games I’ve never played before, never knew about, but just came across:

Rabbit (for the Sega Saturn I think)
Dangerous Streets (for the Amiga, not sure if this was CD32 or not)
Angel Eyes (for the PSX)

Angel Eyes and Rabbit both work in MAME, so there are possibilities for online play, I thought Angel Eyes was pretty decent, might have needed more charas tho and I’m sure it was pretty broke.

An unreleased digitised fighter from Sammy called Deadly Sport has just come to my attention:
The Arcade Flyer Archive - Video Game Flyers: Deadly Sport, Sammy Corporation

Looks to be somewhere between SF The movie and World Heroes. Even features a clown ala Fighters History. Oh and a black Guile clone, how badass is that!

Lets hope this is dumped soon. A board recently popped up on a Japanese auction site along with this flyer…

Is this game emulated, and if so… How is it? Looks pretty original, visually
Like a Doom-esque missing link between 2D and 3D fighters.

Saw that in a local arcade around 1992-93. Never got to try it though.

Yes it is emulated, its on Sega’s system 32 arcade hardware, the same board that Golden Axe ROTD & Sonic Arcade use.

By the way, one of the IGS old (pre-95) fighters was emulated like a month ago, cant remember the name of the game and im at job right now.

Alien challenge I presume? Interesting, maybe they could make a few more IGS games work now? Although I hear it is quite difficult.

Yes! is Alien Challenge! thanks for that.

i m still looking for someone to play this game with (online, it’s supported on supercade)… i like the mechanic to take moves from the opponent, it adds more depth on the game and different strategies for every char.

This is an awesome thread.
Looking for Martial Champion, I found MARTIAL MASTERS, from Taiwanese developer, IGS. Their work seems great; the animation on this is very close to SFIII quality.

[EDIT] So very late I am x-(

AWSOME! I’ve wanted to play that for a long time. Really pleased to hear its been emulated.
My greatest wish is that someone will eventualy dump ā€˜Warlocks of the fate’, tho Im not holding my breath…

Just a heads up on this guys channel, he gets ā€˜deep’ with some of the games in the list. He has combo videos up for DankuGa and Golden Axe the Duel atm, great stuff:
YouTube - Plexosolarasolas’s Channel

The chances of seeing Warlock of the Fates are about the same as seeing Garou Mark of the Wolves Plus (aka Garou 2).

The most we’ve ever seen is a couple of screen shots. There isn’t even solid evidence that anyone in the public has a prototype board, never mind a working dumped rom to one day distribute.

But yeah, it’d be cool.

RE: ā€˜Deadly Sport’- first I’ve seen of that one. Is ther anything else on that game online? like, videos or more info other than that flyer? Looks cool.

No, thats it so far, but as I said, a board was on auction, so Im sure more will eventualy get out

So here it is guys, Alien Challenge in all its glory: Luca’s MAME Drivers ? 2010 ? Alien Challenge

Whats funny about the character lineup is that its taken alot of the cheesiest charas from World Heroes: like american football player, compulsary T1000 superhuman NeoGegus, female Jengis Khan, Clown from Fighter History etc… but, it also manages to pre-empt some later Capcom charas: John Talbain, Gill and T1000 character has Twelve’s morphing limbs.

There is a pretty substancial lineage now of T1000 superhumans in fighting games. Neo Geegus, Duris, this guy, Seth, I guess also Urien, Twelve and Necro to a lesser degree…

I couldsnt find ac on his page.

A friend of mine just told me that Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty got released on PSN. It’s the PSX version though…not sure how that version compares to the Saturn.
