Obscure Emu'd fighter roundup

As you have previously read, I’ve uploaded a gameplay video of Alien Challenge. I do not own a pcb of this game, I found the video on a chinese site.

However, today I found another 2 YouTube videos showing Alien Challenge gameplay. But this time the uploader seems to actually own the game. Maybe a step forward to finally emulating it?

Part 2:

Yeah when Martial Masters and Killing Blade were emulated I thought we’d get a lot more IGS goodness, but it seems like the WIPS on it it just stalled, I mean there are quite a few games but it looks like it might be too tough to crack?

I’d still like to try out Demon Front, Spectral Vs Genertaion, The Gladiator, Beestorm and Huang Fei Hong etc

But it seems that they might be more than a couple of years away, well at least they cracked B Rap Boys, which I never thought they would and it’s pretty awesome.

Wait so someone has the PC version but he’s hoarding it and no one else will get a chance to play it?

Spectral is on PS2 though, so you could strill try that out.

Expand the youtube description…

Oh sorry my mistake, yeah SVG seems pretty hard to get a hold of and no gppo, I have a contact tho so I might aquire it someday, I did play it in an arcade for a short while it seemed good.

Spectral vs Generation? Dude…that game is so easy to find it’s ridiculous.

Not sure if this has been posted, but there seems to be some improvment on NeoGeo 64 emulation, Samsho in particular:

Yeah but I’m in the 3rd world so that bring a whole bunch of other complications to the table, I could probably get it if I try really hard, but I don’t really want to try that hard.

Anyway another DOS PC game Theatre of Pain, looks pretty good, it supposed to be a lot like MK2 but I wouldn’t expect much from it, I don’t know why it didn’t get that much buzz back in the day, I certainly don’t remember it. I does look pretty good imo esp for the time.

Yep. We in the Samsho thread are pretty psyched about it.

It seems that there is another Korean obscure fighting game named “Invincible” (the first one is findable online). However, this one was probably not released.

8 characters, no boss. Classic SF2 ripoff.

Nobody cares about http://www.mobygames.com/game/theatre-of-pain, looks interesting… and it’s got six buttons.

I have it, it has some combos and the controls are stiff but its ok… Havent tested it that much… It crash a lot on my pc…

Oh nice find, havn’t seen this one. Hope the rom surfaces soon!

Hey did any of you guys play Eye of Typhoon PC version? it’s finally playable (in korean), I am going to get into it when I have time, any comments?

(edited after Crayfish told me it’s known that it’s out there)

Yeah the links been there from the start, hence my ‘look in the desc’ comment  You will need DOSBOX to play it: http://www.dosbox.com/information.php?page=0
Not sure if there is online play, that would be too good.

Oh that sucks, you should maybe run a dual boot or use that OS emulation software if you can…, it’s doesn’t seem bad at all I thought more ppl would be interested?

Anyone played the second game on this page (Dark Legends 2)? http://hg101.kontek.net/suikoenbu/suikoenbu.htm

Looks interesting as it has guests star from Fighters History/Karnov’s revenge. Ive heard Dark Legends 2 was released in stupidly limited numbers in the US and is a hyper rare collectors item? Anyone?

Suiko Enbu Fuun Seiki is a great game. The engine allows sick juggles and it’s a lot of fun to experiment with combos. Also the weapon and no weapon gameplay is well done. I can recommend the game ^^

Yeah I had part 1 and 2 on the Saturn, though I prefer part 1 they are both fun and very broken. Mitzugushi (sp) from fighters history is in part 2.

I’ve played Dark Legends 1 on import Saturn, no idea if DL2 was released domestically, I’d be hella surprised.

Dunno if this is for arcade fighters only, but here is an awesome unliscensed fighting game for Sega Genesis, with Goku, Geese, Michael Jordan, and Muhammed Ali etc!
