About people saying that he’ll get lamed out in Turnabout Mode, he also gets maybe the best set of projectiles in the game.
What is the deal with paperwork high/low? Do they hit high or low?

It already looks like nick has a lot of troublesome matchups, granted, the people in the french videos playing him/against him aren’t exactly stellar either.
do my eyes decieve me, or is that missile assist hitting vergil out of his “maximum vergil” hyper by going THROUGH striders metal animals hyper?!?
what kind of durability does that dog have?!
What, did no one see me mention that in my previous post? =(
I’m beginning to think that Missile is not an actual projectile and can go through other projectiles. Although, it’s possible that he hit Vergil just before the robotic animals hit him and that Maximum Vergil just whiffed, but that’ll be an extremely huge coincidence.
^^ guess i missed that one. i just quickly scrolled to the bottom to type it out i didnt see anyone else talking about it. it looks in the video as if one of the tiger things is on a collision course directly for the dog, but it is hard to see whether it actually gets hit or not. but yea thats a hell of a lot of shit to get through without getting hit thats for sure.
Max’s Marvel Madness Part 3 confirmed that people will need more than the Maya Shield to stop people from attacking Wright. It’s a great shield, but easily jumped over.
EDIT: It also shows how useful the Lv. 3 is in getting people off of his back.
Chances…are the dog doesn’t have durability points, and it has similar properties of MODOK’s assist balloon bomb.
Also, it doesn’t quite work right if the opponent is in the corner… or something, at least once she appeared BEHIND him for some reason.
In the new gameplay Max uploaded, I saw Ironfist jump right over Mia. So I think that Phoenix Wright and Dante will be great pals together. Dante gets unblockables with PW and PW get verticle cover so he can jump in.
I think Maya just has super durability vs projectiles and OK durability vs attacks, or something like that.
sorry as the huge PW fan that I am, I had to fix that
I think sent drones or doom beams will be enough to cover nick, but we can’t be sure til the game is out. Drones are #1
what properties are those exactly? from the sounds of it balloon bomb isnt a projectile either? i never played MODOK outside of messing about with him on the mission mode.
PW and Ghost Rider look like they have some good synergy. Mostly GR’s otg for nick and some dhc options, but missile could set up unblockables for GR as well. The problem is getting a 3rd. I think sent would compliment both of them extremely well and be a good anchor. Drones let PW safely collect evidence with maya shield and they make GR’s keepaway amazing. Drones would also help PW and GR get in there, obviously. Definitely looks like that’s going to be my day 1 team.
As a move on point it’s just a regular projectile. As an assist it ignores all other projectiles (and some supers too, I think).
Add on to that Assist Ballon Bomb ignore all projectiles because Ballon bomb doesn’t have a durability point. Basically it just phases through all projectille instead of just clashing with another projectile.
I was thinking Strider. Homing divekick (Vajra?) assist could really help in watching Wright’s back while getting evidence or at least put the opponent in enough blockstun to get Maya Shield up safely, as well as ground any reckless air dashers. And Strider, I think, is possibly one of the best anchors in the game. X-Factor level 3 completely compensates his low damage output, and adding in Ourobouros (Which he’s most likely to have enough meter for, as your anchor) makes him a one-man mixup. On the flip side, Strider benefits from Missile assist similarly to GR. The wall cling-divekick + Missile makes for a full screen unblockable with full combo capability afterwards. Missile + Teleport, same thing. The only real disadvantage I see is that both PW and Strider rely heavily on level 3’s, but I only see Strider really needing Ouroborous after PW gets killed (Possibly before getting into Turnabout Mode, which we’ve seen happen more often than not). I think that if you burn the 3 bars for PW’s level 3, then you’re probably at a good enough lead where you don’t need Strider as anchor anyway.
Edit: I noticed in Maximilian’s video that when PW is close to the corner and he calls Maya Shield, she pops up behind him rather than in front. That could be a minor disadvantage, perhaps. But it got me thinking, since PW can move around after he calls her, does that mean one could do a safe tag? Like, call Maya, tag out? Does she stay out after the tag at all?
I don’t think you’re supposed to stay behind it from fullscreen like Max did, but inside it.
It looks like I’m going to make up why I should play PW/MODOK.
Erm…
Shields.
Basically this. It seems like any time an attack’s hit-box intersects with both Wright’s AND Maya’s hurt-boxes, Maya is the only one that takes the hit. Hiding behind her may work for projectiles but generally speaking you’ll want to be inside her.
You’ll want to be inside her…
