OBJECTION! - The Phoenix Wright Thread

Thanks man!

Now there’s no way I can lose it permanently

Sunova… Some smart Ryu punished my TA Wright using Shinkuu hadoken then X-factored then used another one. SIGH

http://www.twitch.tv/lnsflive/b/312024489 watch at 48:00 49:00 minutes, its my phoenix wright comeback, tell me what u think and heres just the comeback http://www.twitch.tv/lnsflive/b/312133313

This was an awesome comeback!

I agree with Mr. Shoryuken, a lot of peeps focus on getting to Turn About and end up dying because they suck at actually playing Wright, lol. All Wright players should learn how to fight with Wright in Trial mode AND know how to defend yourself in Investigation mode.

The link i posted, ia another comeback

Some corrections with the frame data:

No, PW’s QCF is Paperwork High. His QCB is Paperwork Low.

Oh sh----

MY LIFE WAS A LIE

I played at my university today on an unpatched Xbox, I honestly understand why they took out invuln on BTW, I can literally make anyone’s anything 100% safe. I literally teared through everyone I played with (who normally I can take one character out of) if I got to Turnabout first. I had absolutely no need to even think, just barge in and call PW, and whatever I did after that was perfectly safe… It’s like “HRM I’m Dante let me just walk up and mash buttons lol” and called PW while doing Dante’s sword spinny thingy, and everyone always fell for that and thought they be able to punish me. I mean they couldn’t punish absolutely anything lol

I wish they hadn’t nerfed him… since the assist by itself would make him S tier XD

Announcement : If anyone did not know, I’m making a guide (Which I’m already almost done with). It will most likely be posted tomorrow.

Yay

Awesome, lookin’ forward to it.

In the middle of Press the witness :m:, the attack has high priority as said by Generic in the guide thread.

I did some testing and I was able to out do Wolverine’s slash in Berserker slash with the middle of Press the witness. I also used it against Strider’s sword attacks and press the witness seems to have more priority (Middle part). I also tried out break the witness and it acts like press the witness. Middle part has good priority.

Also, the vajra assist is pretty much a free objection. Use paperwork low ( :h: to not get hit at all), then use the lightbulb then object.

More of my discoveries are posted in the guide thread

Just thought I’d point this out to all the Phoenix Wright players attending EVO this year.

I’m back on this game after a couple of months. I pretty much refuse to not have Wright on my team, and after they took away his invincibility a long time ago, I had trouble finding a good team ever since. It was pretty discouraging, so it cut back on my playtime.

But now I’m back on it trying to think up some new synergy for Wright. I’ve got him in my second slot now instead of on point, and now I’m just looking for a teammate on point. The rest of the team is ???/Wright/Doom. I really want RR to work, but I’m not sure how great he is on point (I want the pendulum assist if he’s going to be on my team), and I’m not even sure if I can master him.

Anyway, it’s good to see that there are still some Wright players going strong. Any quick tips that I might have missed in the period of time I wasn’t playing as much to help me get back on my feet with the Ace Attorney?

Wesker, Vergil or Spencer.

Anyone who can easily open up and do ToD combos is great with Wright.

Latest response ever and you probably already tried it by now lol but yeah they would get knocked back into the corner. That vase setup could be useful if you have say vase/photo/knife. You know if the vase projectile would put them in enough hitstun to rush in and convert to a finger?

The hitstun from the vase is really small, if I recall it’s only enough time for :h: finger or :d::h: finger depending on the character and height.

Rocket Raccoon can work well on point though very unforgiving if you make a mistake since you’re using Doom plasma beam would be best for Raccoon but Hidden Missile can cover his teleports just not as well. If you don’t want to use Raccoon other good point characters including Berserker’s suggestion are Joe, Amaterasu, Morrigan, Magneto, or Taskmaster.

Other tips, I would say check out the guide, some other tips I have that’s not in the guide, this is regarding Maya :m: and :h: Maya can crossover the opponent if the rolls forward, some examples where you can use this is after an overhead (:f::m:) collect two evidence and call Maya, or after a standard ground to air combo collect one evidence then call Maya.

Trial mode stuff:
Press the Witness can be used to chase down the opponent’s recovery on the ground depending on how far you, if you think opponent will recover forward dash back then PTW :l: or :m: and if forward dash then PTW. If you hit the opponent with the lightbulb you can switch to investigation mode and continue the combo.

Lastly try to know what the opponent character is capable of and if possible experiment with situations and create some combos where you can collect evidence and continue the combo and do your best to keep Wright alive if he has to die then let him as disappoint as it is.

I am back to Wright as I feel I found the right team for him: My new team is Spencer-PW-Skrull

Spencer and his 1 touch kills with DHC to Maya gives Wright enough time to get at least 5 pieces and people don’t know yet but Skrull and PW with Missile assist is a deadly combination. Meteor Smash + Missile has great resets and unblockables, I need to go to the lab to see what else I can do but I feel this team is here to stay

I just figured this out today too with Wright and Skrull. That dog and meteor smash/hammer drop is really deadly. Especially with Skrull’s air Meteor smash. It can create an unblockable from anywhere on the screen if timed correctly.

Right now I’m using Skrull/Wright/Doom, and while it’s working pretty well, I’m probably going to switch Skrull out just because he’s a little too reliant on meter for Wright’s point character. But him and Wright make a great team, so I might go for it anyway.

But I’m getting used to Wright being second on my team and I gotta say I really like it. Burning one meter to get him in and grab his evidence is so much more efficient than trying to defend him with two assists. It frees me up more, and if the point character fails, I’ve got a strong assist backing Wright with Doom. I’m having more success and fun.

[S]Is it me or I’m the only one here who hates Skrull cause he looks so retarded[/S]. Who cares :D. Looks don’t matter in this game.

New zoning strategy in trial.

Use Maya’s shield before getting into trial. Use assists and keep zoning. If Maya runs out, get an assist to cover you or use paperwork, folder, cellphone or knife. Switch back to investigation then use Maya :l: again then get back into trial. Once the guy gets near the shield, pressure him with PTW or with crouching attacks then combo into objection.

Fast projectiles, beams and those hidden missiles will be nothing for Wright. Just get the right assists. ESPECIALLY, drones. I tried out Sentinel and he’s too good. It’s too bad I hate the guy. I still do pretty well with just a landmine. Lol.
