she took a full LMH Launcher from an Iron Man either she has some form of durability since the “hit markers” are showing up on Maya.
Mr. Wizard says she’s completely invincible. It’s the MODOK shield basically, nothing goes through it.
I’m expecting her to work pretty much exactly like MODOK’s barrier from what I’ve seen right now. I like how the Maya move apparently has variations based on the faceplant one.
Not only that but the hits are actually counting as hits for Iron Man, he’s even getting meter from hitting her.
But regardless, PW has his own personal assist that you cannot kill, even better than an invincible assist.

That said, I think it’s pretty collapsible downward, too; Trish with Ammy lockdown assist is also I think pretty solid if you treat Trish like a rusher (and I know we saw some videos of really good Trish rush play in the UMVC3 thread), and Ammy has always been at least decent as an anchor.
It’s definitely designed ‘around Wright,’ but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t collapse correctly.
Interesting that they kept aspects of his Apollo Justice persona in, like the sneezing (or was that part of any of his games, I don’t remember), considering most fans didn’t like his characterization in there. Even with that though, it’s nice to see what overall he is like his original version.
Is his damage increased a la xfactor when he is in that mode? I didn’t notice and just assumed that it was something that let him perform certain combos that he couldn’t without it. I did notice that in one video when he went into that mode, his xfactor indicator was going nuts, but wasn’t activated. Is that just the way UMvC3 shows xfactor level? I haven’t really read anything about the new UI.
(I just realized something. Is this first time in video game history where there’s been two characters with the same given name that aren’t just palette swaps or different versions of each other? That’s rather historic in its own right.)

As someone who used both those characters and used Ruby Heart as his main character (dear Poseidon, why is someone on the front page comparing Nova to her?), I can get behind both these sentiments. Hell, I’m surprised she was only apprehended if both Amingo and Sonson got slain; hell, Jin got slain and she didn’t.

It’s probably because you need to gather three separate pieces of “valid” evidence for it that will go away when it runs out on top hitting with “Objection!” in the first place. Considering how much it seems to buff him, it would arguably be more busted as a super that “only” took bar and lasted that long, especially since everyone starts with 1 bar and since he can still build meter in it. If they made him unable to build bar in it, then he would automatically be really gimped considering how long it lasts and the fact that he doesn’t have as much (stupid) as Devil Trigger Dante does. That or they would have had to go the Level 3 route like the did with Strider…except that won’t work because his other Level 3 is too good to be a Level 1 and even Vergil’s Level 3 “only” takes 4 Levels instead of impossible 6.
Pretty much, even if he possibly doesn’t have the free time.

Looks out of place in a game that already contains a couple of midgets characters, techno Humpty Dumpty and a tentacle-bearing Elder God among others? I can understand saying he looks stilted (or whatever) since I’m pretty sure that’s intentional as with his terrible lypsynch. But trying to say he’s straight-up out of place, including his moveset, is a bit…odd.
I haven’t played the Phoenix Wright games, so perhaps I’m confused: Is a Mr. Wright secretly a jailbait-esque girl?
Capcom fans had nothing to do with denying Venom; Marvel did. That and the fact that Eddie Brock Venom hasn’t existed for the better part of a decade and is Eddie Brock is (apparently) Anti-Venom now, an entirely different character that they would be far more likely to push than Venom (especially given how abysmally his forced appearance in Spider-man 3 went).
I really wish people would stop blaming Capcom for the things they can’t control.
I’m assuming you’re talking about Maya here, correct? If so, then it’s just possible that Phoenix didn’t meet the requirements for utilizing busted as breas–I mean, spiritual shield or whatever. I highly doubt Capcom will make pull a Sakurai (or a Hsien-ko) where it just randomly fails and you get bodied.
Alternately, it could be like Deadpool where she always fails/falls after a certain amount of times.
EVIDENCE EDIT: Whoops, nevermind. Between what Pandaman64 said and watching the character trailer again, I just realized the part where Maya comes in and trips is an attack, not a failure of her shield. Silly me.

Lol at Maya being an person-version of M.O.D.O.K.'s Barrier. I kinda want to be use M.O.D.O.K. with Phoenix just for the potential trolling factor with Barrier assist. No one will interrupt my search for truth as I scour the ground for clues and completely ignore my opponent.

I was getting on Diek, like other people, for saying loli-like. I may have to gather some evidence on this, but last I checked, Phoenix didn’t even have breasts for starters.
I’m thinking he’ll need a good assist to set up Objection combos. It seems too slow to combo naturally, but if you add a OTG assist after an air combo? Pursuit time.
I surely hope Frank keeps his wall cart OTG and gets it as an assist. Wright / West / Doom will be my first team if that’s the case.
Against slow characters, especially armor spammers, it looks like the best thing you can do to make an Objection happen is call a lockdown assist and then immediately Object (opposite order might also work); look at the gameplay video – he breaks the armor on Sent’s cr.M with air Objection, and the hitstun on Objection looks Hulk Clap-sized.
For the team I’m thinking on right now this is what Ammy is for. I guess someone like Dante could work too, and Jam Session offers Wright some mixup opportunities that he might desperately need…
