Hahaha! Stay “classy” my NC friends.
I’m not surprised that you don’t since you are not black and couldn’t possibly begin to empathize on that level just like my penis prevents me from understanding why women folk are making such a big deal about a politician saying it’s God’s will when a woman is raped and impregnated. Nothing wrong with that at all. :xeye:
I’m glad I didn’t see that when I was at the State Fair…not sure how I’d react…I’m justn ot sure. (>_<)’

Is it bad that I just spit out my coffee laughing at that? I’m going to hell…
When I heard him say that… My mouth dropped.

Hanging/Burning an effigy is protected by free speech. This was a dumb thing to do, but people shouldn’t be claiming it’s racist or the wrongest thing ever.
he still gon die
Looks nothing like Obama.
Welcome to the South.
Yeah something tells me he’s just the tip of the crazy iceberg. He was just dumb enough to vocalize it.
They showed that the same Rep. back pedaling with what he said… I’ll hafta find the video. But, he was saying how he doesn’t believe in a God that condones sexual violence nor does he [the Rep]. Mindbogglin’. Wonder if they really believe that shit.
feminists dont care about black people
she’s told minorities to get the fuck over it
We have free speech, but you can’t say/do whatever you like. For instance, this could be viewed a death threat toward the president, and if so the secret service could take action against the person. You have free speech, but not to make death threats. Hanging the likeness of a black person from a rope is racist because of the history of lynchings.
so your also saying hanging a white person it fine then…
I see nothing wrong with it on an ethical level. On a personal level, I think it’s kinda dumb and have no emotional response to it outside of that. To me it seems like one more thing to shake my head at and ignore as I move on with my life.
In a society with free speech that happens a lot. People can have KKK or Neo Nazi rallies. They can talk about how fags and soldiers are going to hell. They can condemn religion with flying spaghetti monsters or drawing prophets.
And while many people might feel those things are offensive, it should by no means diminish the fact that they are the expressions of someone. They are free to express themselves, just like you’re free to express how offended you are.
When we start censoring people because it offends others we enter a slippy slope that can easily end with everyone being restricted just because it might offend someone.
There is a HUGE difference in saying that you agree with what someone is saying, and saying you support their right to say what they want.
the dlan didn’t just lynch black people they also lynched women who divorced and gays
That bumper sticker is far more messed up than the hanging mannequin
Its a matter of motive.
If a white killer says “I’m going to kill the next person who walks through that door”, in a racially mixed area, its not racist if the ends up killing a black person, its random and its unlucky for that person, but its not racist; even if using this random method he killed 10 black people in a row it still wouldn’t be racist because he had the intention of killing WHOEVER came through the door regardless of race.
So it all boils down to whether you believe they would have hung Bush if he were in office like they said.
Whether its racist or not is up for debate, but there is no doubt that it was stupid.
Although, speaking of such, do you REALLY think that they would have hung a noose around a Bush mannequin?
I don’t know, its kind of a loaded question though. I glanced the story yesterday, and still haven’t actually seen what the person/people involved look like or know any of their backstory.
Asking that question in that manner is just allowing people to express whatever bias they already have, which isn’t really my thing.
I’m a fan of the facts.
It’s interesting that you used an example like this.
In the past, many activist groups would us the logic of: “The killer is racist if the chances of a black person walking through the door is higher than other races. It’s biased towards black people.” So if the killer did this in Harlem, it would be racist.
Of course nothing like this ever happened. Just pointing out that many groups will call any system that happens to affect a high ratio of minorities as racist.
