Is it that big a deal that HDR(lol) isn’t a main game? I’m trying to see the wrong in having new games as the headliners. Now that there’s options did anyone not see this?

Evo are sending a message that only new games matter. And then when even newer games come out, those are the ones that will be at Evo. So they are basically putting everyone on a treadmill where you have to constantly learn the new game.
Personally, I prefer games that have a deep history (like SF2). Someone in another thread put it best: “I prefer the Olympics, not the X-Games”.
That’s kind of the point isn’t it? It’s pretty easy to play HDR (or even HDR classic mode).
Are you going to go to NWM? Because if you’re still this adamant about wanting HDR somewhere, this might be your shot to have it in a bigger environment than the mean streets of Olympia.

There are people that do a good job besides myself, and some…not so much. Plus it really is going to depend on how Brent wants the commentary to be for his event. If he wants a more professional aspect (clean language etc.etc.etc.) or something where we can swear on the stream, will be the huge factor on determining who should be on the mics.
Chemistry is a huge factor as well, and well for me there are people that I can work better with, than others.
The main thing is I don’t know if Brent just wants whoever to run and jump on the mics to fill spots or if he wants a team of people.
And yes, I like the fact that I’m the queen of commentary in the NW. Diva powers ACTIVATE!
Yeah i dont think i have another baby coming this time…NWM2 was suppose to be my coming out party “no mechanica” & crown myself king of HDR! I trained myself for it & probably would have won it. Now im more experience, i should win this if there is HDR.
Time contraints? SSFIV is gonna have an ungodly amount of players still, and that’s guaranteed. If the other games have a number close to the SSFIV then there’s no reason to have HDR as a main game since the other games will be taking up, close to the time, SSFIV is already gonna take up.
This would be a good chance to draw in players from other games to show them what SF2 is about, but then again that’s being optimistic.

Real talk, I expect after all of the bitching on SRK about the games that are not in this years lineup, the Cannons or Mr.Wiz will tell everyone that the reason they could not allow any more games is because of time consumption.
As a judge last year it was insane running the huge brackets we had for SSFIV, each pool was very time consuming on the schedule but generally we finished on time with a few pools going over the time limit. With that being said, it is in the best interest of everyone @ EVO, both participant, spectator, judge, and even organizers to get the HUGE pools knocked out in a timely manner.
Remember, EVO usually runs in one ballroom with only so many setups per game, per tournament. I’m sure the Cannons felt that with maximizing their assets, the lineup they chose will benefit each pool run as smooth as possible.
Word on the street is that they will have a new strategy on how to do this at this years EVO but I don’t know the details. For instance in SSFIV, I’m guessing that they will be halving the 124 man pools or something and making it a lot easier on the judges to get in their matches. I don’t know though, its just a though… but just imagine how many people are going to be in the damn MvC3 tournament alone???

Shut the fuck up about not having HDR @ EVO this year, or any other game that you wanted in the line up!
Wouldn’t make sense to have ST at EVO, you would have to hook up a different console & not sure if everyone has DC arcade sticks.
HDR was & still is a good representative for SF2. Its a bit odd in announcing 2 games that haven’t even been release yet, what if the game is broken? Also MK9 has a different arcade layout, people would have to bring two different arcade sticks?
Its just odd that there is no SF2 at all…You would be pissed too if there was no Tekken right?
Do you think you saying that is going to have any effect at all?
