Taht new advanced tactics vid on your site is sick Zach. You ever think of writing a Tron Bonne tutorial? I watched The branten play vs. Jwong a month ago and the branten did well against J until it came down to tron and this seems all too often to be the case with teams involving tron.

There’s two good MikeZ-themed Tron videos already - one from Tim0887-something on YouTube, and one from MikeZ that’s on my site (and on youtube).
I’ve thought about it over the years and I think if I played against Frank or other Tron enthusiast more I might. As it is I just mention minor interesting things to Magnetro from time to time.
It stands to be said that watching the Brawl finals was awesome. The randomness of smash balls and items along with the real visible skill differences in the players made for a great show.
The announcer was also great. He was constantly explaining the ins and outs of the games and was really excited when anything happened. I think it was Keits.
We should ask him to announce at NWMajors.
Agreed. The smash finals were my favorite of all the Evo finals by far. I watched them twice the first night I got my camera back from Paul, and ran the battery out just watching everything by the next morning. Almost 11 hours recorded!

You guys should ask me to do the color commentary for NWM! I think that if Mandel and I would do it we could pick up an ESPN contract or something like that.
I like the idea of the tournament being an opportunity for people in the scene to get into things that they want to do. I also want to hold smaller tournaments before next summer so that we can build hype and anyone who is working on the tournament can get more practice in before the big one.
I’ve been watching the whole EVO 07’ DVD that I got in Vegas, and some of the announcers just suck, and some are incredible. It really makes the difference between watching a fun match and a boring one. GG had a japanese announcer which was random. Marvel’s was pretty good. Melee had the most boring announcer I have ever heard, which really stands out against how great the Smash announcer was this year. Tekken had the best announcer by far.
I think we definitely need an announcer for the games next tournament. Someone to constantly explain the matches and players actions to the crowd and constantly be hyped on the mic changes the whole atomosphere.

I think the dream teams here would be Me and Super Joe or Mandel, Mandel and Jetay or Robert, and Jetay and Robert. I put Robert in the mix cause he knows a lot of random games, plus have you listenend to a conversation between people listed and Robert? Fucking hillarious.
The other thing about about the EVO 07’ DVD is the transitions between matches. The matches switch as soon as the life bar hits 0. Even if the announcer is screaming “PERFECT!!!,” or the crowd is going wild, it gets cut off. I think the people making the DVD should try as hard as possible to put you into the experience of being at EVO, and that includes being part of the hype when something tight happens. Introductions of matches, better transitions, and film of the actual event itself would all improve the DVD.
The matches also have no transition. You could start at the Marvel finals and end up watching all finals on the DVD without a transition to say whos playing or even what the game is.
Julien was saying we should make a DVD of the NWM matches to build hype, so I think those are all things we should consider.
Personally, I think it’d be hella dope to have interviews and shit too. There’s too many funny ass people in the NW.
I suggested on Super turbo dot net that we do UFC/WWE style promos. No one listened. Well, maybe it was because I only posted that on Super-turbo.net so that may have had something to do with it.

I think so too. I think it could be cool to have audience interviews about the matches or the players also. Have the players talk and then have random people who know them or are going up against them talk about them. We could splice in footage of them playing between them talking also.
I thought it was a dope idea. We could definitely do it for this tournament.

I agree with you on that. like the song was tight but not hella tight to me when it first came out, but now it’s soundin really tight to me.
That’s kinda the way way it was with the whole Cd for me and then I got it out and listened to it the other day and was like !!! Wow how did I think otherwise. This is AWESOME.
ALSO- Ya know who everybody’s forgettin about that would be a HELLA good announcer. He’s funny and he know’s how to talk plus he knows about some variety of games. That’s right! Drew-Dub is near the top of the list IMO. He’s frickin hilarious. I don’t know what he’s doin nowdays but he might be into it.
