Word. I’m completely opposed to gambling of any sort. Too many of my people suffer under the affliction of wanting to get something for nothing, and risk losing everything instead. I don’t indulge in games of chance. I believe in investing one’s time and money in hard work, or sure things.

Haven’t played Marvel in many-a-weeks. ST’s been fun though. Remember people, Marvel on 7/6, 8PM, Zach’s. Show up on time or get a shitty first round pairing. Or, show up late like Kuenai and miss the entire season.
I suppose a rematch would be fine, but I’m still not confident enough to put my money on the line 
We were the only ones who couldn’t ROM, remember? That’s just training room practice. I haven’t had good human opponents since the last time I was there (no offense to Paul, but I can’t really improve my game in reaction, mindgames, etc when I can only play one person near or slightly below my level in the game), so I haven’t stepped it up much in anything but execution.
Yes, I show up late and never enter Marvel tournies. I still enter ST tournies, though. Remember? I should be there a lot earlier this time, though. I have a court date on the 6th, though. I wonder if I’ll have gas money after fees. I’m still not sure how big those will be 
On a side note, I’ll be playing with a customer’s case and my old parts on friday, most likely. For marvel, I guess I’ll just be playing on whatever MAS sticks are hooked up at the time. Until I get that octagonal gate, my trijumps will still be a bit messy on the japanese stick. Maybe I’ll try anyways…
Bitch, I still can’t ROM. ROM is reserved for people who are afraid that they’ll never catch their opponent off guard a second time. The need to capitalize on a single opening necessitates big ass combos like the ROM. I KNOW that I’ll never get another opening, and I’m secure in that respect.
You should tell that to every major player that KNOWS that he will catch you off guard a second time.
Besides, infinites build meter for free and inflict massive damage. How can you not take advantage of such opportunities given to you in the game?
But yeah… it is kind of a bitch tactic. Most production teams get feedback given to them specifically so their games don’t have such combos.
Man, I can’t execute. That’s why I’ve taken up ST. I’ve won more ST matches in the 4 times I’ve played at Julien’s than Marvel matches since I moved back to Seattle last year. That’s no exaggeration. Perhaps those numbers would be reversed if I were residing in Akihabara/Shibuya.

It’s just because ST has a lot lower level of competition in Seattle than Marvel does.
I dunno everyone’s story, but I knew Rat and Cody were serious marvel players when I was in high school…in HS I was still mainly a casual player and somewhat regular KOF '98 player. I didn’t start playing Super Turbo on the regular until I started going to Zachs maybe 3-4 months ago.
And since then me and Nate have really encouraged people to start playing Super Turbo. Nate is a lot better than me at ST and games in general…but really before ST at Zach’s never in my life have I regularly had access to good competition like this… so yeah Julien is really good and so is Nate but the majority of Seattle ST players are still learning a lot so marvel players can go into ST tourneys and do so well.
Also half the time I am playing against someone that is not Zangief or Vega or Chun I have no freaking clue what to do cus I’ve only ever regularly played against like 25% of the cast in ST…which is fucking not good in a matchup-heavy game like ST. I have barely ever played against O. Sagat, Sim or really strong shotos in this game. So I highly doubt I will do very well at Evo until we get a little stronger up here with a more versatile character array…
BUT IF SOMEONE PICKS DEEJAY AGAINST ME AT EVO THEY RESIGNED THEMSELVES TO A LOSS. THANKS SEATTLE.

Nate needs to finish at least 4th in order to retake the ST rankings lead. Julien has already put mother nature and his coolie gardener in front of his true passion–ST–and will not be attending the tournament on 7/6. If this is the final tournament of the season, will Nate reclaim the title? And if the season continues, given how deflated Nate’s morale was during the finals last time, can he put enough distance between himself and Julien to secure victory come the 13th?

I’m trying to work out carpooling details with Pablo (PM me you wetback) so that he can be drunk off of his ass on 7/6. The question is, will he curb stomp me when I bust out Claw during ST casuals? If his progress continues, he should pose a threat to the top level Seattle ST players come Friday. I was actually making fun of how you play him in more than half of the tournaments. My aim was the same in Preppy’s poker thread. So, if anything, I was joking about how my random bracketing seems to favor this match up. But if you want to use it as inspiration, it doesn’t hurt.
Edit: for those who don’t know, Evan doesn’t play ST. At least, he hasn’t since the Democrats ran the white house.
