anyway, i’m looking forward to playing some games again soon. i’m practicing when i can. right now im looking at sagat/rufus/DAN. although, i’ve just been practicing with ryu to get fadc down and learn how relaxed the combo engine is. my next practice session i’ll probably start messin with sagat (unless rufus is easier?).

Raeli the only way to prove that you’re serious to people like Glenn is to have results. Hell, that’s half the reason I go to AR, because I don’t want to be some no-name guy that shows up once every five hookups (not saying that’s you).
Dru, Dan is fun, but he’s all gimmicks and his footsies are terrible. He basically needs to jump in at people or do an unsafe mk/hk Dankukyaku to close the distance. Once you get someone in the corner, lk Dankukyaku is straight up rape with wakeup games, but the only way you’re gonna get there is if you somehow manage to close the distance, which basically means you have to wait for your opponent to make a mistake. That’s pretty hard to do considering that his only decent pokes are far s.mk and cr.mk, and those are both fairly slow. His specials are good, though. Gadouken is actually good in blockstrings, his shoryu is solid, and Dankukyaku is bamf. LK Dankukyaku, also known as the Knee of Justice, is ridiculous. Safe or plus on block, good chip damage, great air to air (It can beat Guile’s air throw!), decent jump-in, and you can follow up with 1 hit of EX Koryuken in the corner.

Drew- rufus is easy, sagat is easy too but in a different way. Hes simple, but not brainless.

yeah ok, online isn’t a good place to learn how to crack down on ryu’s shenanigans. he whiffs jap dp, I do standing fierce (For f->f tornado) and get dped before I can do anything.

And yeah, I know Rex. I shoulda beat Shekeib, I couldn’t get my ultra when I needed it. I’m finally getting close to proficient on the stick. Still a bit worse on the right side of the screen, but I’m working it out. I think I’ve gotten better at owning the Gief matchup. It feels like every person I play now makes me play the fucking Zangief vs Seth matchup, so I get lots of practice.
Allen, ggs. Where were your DPs? I was walljumping the shit out of you. I gotta learn to stay grounded in the Rufus matchup when Rufus is close because of the whole j.hk -> ultra for 75% of my health thing. Your Rufus seemed gimmicky as hell, though. I think he kinda needs that s.lk -> s.hp xx HP Galactic Tornado string so that if I mash throw, you get more than just a dive kick.

but you don’t have to tell me how to play rufus, lol. i don’t mind getting advice but man, don’t tell me something like s.lk, s.hp xx tornado and think that’s NEW to me. do i really look like i just started playing this game? and the reason i wasn’t doing s.lk after divekick was because i wanted to do divekick higher to see what buttons you were pressing in between divekicks. if you were doing option select, i woulda gone for s.lk but you were mashing throw and throw mashers can beat my s.lk if i don’t do divekick low enough which i wasn’t doing because i was having too much fun doing divekicks.
and you saying my rufus is gimmicky as hell kind of bothers me. why would you say this? are you really that ignorant? for everyone that has played my rufus, is it really that gimmicky?
whenever i play rufus, i try to find your escape patterns. rufus is one of the few characters that needs to stick on you to do maximum damage. so finding your escape patterns is important. if i do random j.hk, it’s prolly not random. it’s prolly because you jumped back at the same point of my blockstring in the past and i think you’re gonna do it again. if you DP between certain part of my block string or divekick, i’ll prolly try to bait it next time. etc. it’s not gimmicks, i’m just trying to figure you out.
so before you write something off as gimmicks, don’t underestimate my thought process.

I didn’t think you “didn’t know” Rufus’s BnB, I just didn’t see it at all, and that was confusing to me.
it’s cool. i did his BnB maybe once or twice. but his BnB is harder to do online so i stay away from doing it too often. 1 frame link.

Allen- the rufus is kinda gimmicky, but thats rufus? What else does he have. Your style is good, 50/50 all day. Been working on my ex snakestrike anti airs, too good, try it out. Allen does lk, hp, gt all day too btw…i know from experience >_< Online bandb = lk, mp, gt btw allen Iv started gettin smart on niggas that like to interupt before the tornado too, slk, shp, on block EX MESSIAH! get that shit outta here.
Oh and the good place to use anti air ex SS is in situations like you said u did jhk cuz u thought he would jump, safer to react with the ex ss…more damage prolly too without the scaling. His arc is realy good for catching people jumping back.
Rufus is all gimmicks. Mine is hella gimmicky because I suck at his B&Bs, so I I developed little techs that just abuse the game engine. Shit gets me DPed online, but offline it’s hella confusing.
I think I did it once on Rex’s Ryu (Oh that’s cheap.) but online Ryus who don’t play as honest will just mash out EX DP out of the mixup and I get owned.
I can host a hookup tommorow. 2 tv’s at least, neither of them lagtastic >_<. I’ll make some pizza and stuff(sry no azn). Someone bring a ps3 so we can have a tv for both systems. i think it might combo in certain situations off other normals as well.
i’ll have to try to catch people using ex SS jumping back. but i’m really good at reacting with ex SS when people try to jump in on me, so much damage. i never really thought about using it to catch people jumping back. but don’t EVER fucking jump at me, ex SS for like 25% life.
and no, rufus isn’t really gimmicks. to me, a gimmick would be something like demonflip into raging demon. or boxer’s overhead move. or something like trickery that only works if someone isn’t expecting it. but rufus doesn’t have any of that. he has pressure strings, and divekick guessing games, but i wouldn’t consider it gimmicks.
i saw nuki do a combo similar to that during god’s garden against a viper. he did j.hk, c.hp, hk legs, c.lk/mk, ex legs, it was JUICY, he did it during stun though. but i think that combo is reallly hard to do, i dunno the trick to it yet cause canceling c.hp into hk legs is hard.
