66 mk xx 236 hp 66 mk xx 236 hp
Start of a Sentinel combo for cota.
When I first learned number notation I found it hard but I got use to it. It has it’s uses (like for IADs and other stuff) and it is used for a lot of non capcom games. It’s really not that bad if you put a hour into learning it.
This is what happens when people have no idea what they are talking about before they respond. A phone does not have the same set up as a numpad. What the hell are you on.
Using number notation for Tekken combos is lulz.
I’m fine with reading either but I prefer QCF format, because that’s just not how I think
Number directions + number inputs = gdlk in Tekken
32, 41, WS 1,2, 51, 51, 44,3, b!, 662,3
Personally prefer numbers. Easier to read and type out.
Lol wtf? I can barely tell which are directional inputs and which are button inputs in that.
you people will argue about fucking anything
Arrow notation is way better. It’s simpler and universal.
:360: vs 63214789
or
QCF vs 34597975198754792
You decide.
Edit: IDK who started the number notation fad, but I hope he gets gingivitis.
You know in number notation most people still abbreviate it as 360 right? And if they do use directions they would write something like 6248 instead.
QCF vs 236
Really. It’s much harder.
Btw in jp tekken they use number notation with LP, RP, LK and RK. And I much prefer reading that to TZ notation. Which I consider a form of eye cancer.
people who hate on either option are retarded.
it’s just a different method, why the needless zeal?
but telling me to learn number notation is like forcing me to learn to play a fighting game that’s not street fighter! not every hardcore game is a mathematician you know
I use it for BB and it does make sense, I just prefer say QCF or using the arrows as a personal preference.
Yeah, this pretty much.
I think you’re reading the wrong thread. I don’t see “needless zeal” here, just people stating a preference and why.
If there’s no needless zeal then you aren’t a real FG player imho.
I learned about number notations when I was playing Soul Calibur 2. I use my laptop keypad to visual the notations. It wasn’t too hard to figure how notations worked in that game.
I had so much trouble reading TZ notations, and also Mortal Kombat notations. They are basically same thing, but…when you read BB/Soul/etc notations…it’s pretty hard to understand what the fuck they are talking about.
Oh God, yes. I gotta constantly refer to their glossary to understand what their talking about. I understand having abbreviations for the stances characters assume, but I don’t see why TZ uses THAT notation.
Even for stances, I prefer 2LP+RP to AOP for Xiaoyu’s Art of Phoenix, but I’ll admit it has its place as some of her moves can go into AOP.
What the hell, man? Did you just barf up some random numbers?
Anyway, I like numbers better, but the other notation is fine. >_>
I can certainly see how seeing something like say: 236236B, 66, 214D~C, 66C, 66, 5C, 2C, 6D, 4D, 7D, 623D, 66, 3C, 632146C. might seem a little daunting, though.
Yo, we’re American. Using stupid notations instead of getting with the rest of the modern world is our pastime.
That’s pretty much what kills it for me. I’m a visual learner, so if I see arrows or notations like ‘QCF’ I can immediately process that in my brain. On the other hand, the above number set doesn’t immediately click until I go through the process of translating it.
Yeah, arrows are admittedly more universal, but like someone else said, not all forums have access to those. And QCF doesn’t men anything to someone who doesn’t speak English.
It really depends on the game though. Games like SF, where combos are short and sweet, it really doesn’t matter what notation you use. But with combos like the one I posted where the are specific inputs like “dash forward C” (66C) or “jump backward D” (7D), it really goes a long way to succinctly say exactly what inputs I should be using.
Edit: Now I wanna try and put that combo into letters… let’s see…
qcfx2B, dash fwd, qcbxD~C, dash fwd, f.C, dash fwd, C, cr.C, f.D, b.D, j.b.D, dpxD, dash fwd, d.f.C, hcbfxC.
Bleh, they’re both confusing…
