well… an easier way would be to look at the nubytech joystick and compare it to a pic of the happ stick, you can easily tell the difference, its not rocket science.
The Happ version was a limited edition only sold online. If you bought it used then I imagine the seller would have let you know . Similarly, if you got it new from GameStop then it’s not Happ. If you bought the stick modded then there’s a decent chance that it has Happ parts. Take a picture of the inside an we’ll be able to quickly identify it for you.
Yeah, you definitely can. A PS1 DS would be easier to work with. Get a Cthulhu if you just want PS3 compatibility. It would be the easiest option of the three.
Reason I ask is i have a few DS2 controllers lying around which are no longer useful to me.
Would working with the DS2 board be similar to the PSone DS controller?

I conducted this test 5 times on one of the 5 tests, I got 0 ms input lag.
It’s my understanding that a few of these joysticks have incompatible pcbs no matter what adapter you use. I’ve personally own 6 of the sticks.
4 worked with the pelican adapter and the radio shack adapter.
2 did not and just flips out activating the ps3 home button and arandom buttons.
I think it’s the luck of the draw with these sticks. If you are unfortunate enough to get a bad pcb version all you can do is install a hacked pcb of some sort.
I bought a generic “new wave” or something convertor locally at jbhifi, for $49 aus, came with hdmi/optical cables. Works great in ps3 menus and sf2 hd BUT i find sf4 has abit of laggy input with buttons, directional movement is fine tho.
