I’m well aware. There is a lot of great stuff in this subforum, and a lot of knowledgeable players. I’ve already read through everything in this thread from the past year, and there’s shockingly little discussion about Ammy, aside from debating whether she’s worth it for Jill or not. The only character that’s discussed for that shell is Rocket Raccoon, but I don’t really feel comfortable playing him.

It would be just as easy for you to use your knowledge of the character to help other players with their questions, instead of sending them on a wild goose chase through 30 pages of old posts. That’s what this thread is for.

You can always play Jill Doom Ammy Its a pretty good team the only thing you might struggle with playing with doom is DHCing mid-screen

Knowledge of which character? Jill or Ammy? I barely know anything about Ammy, mainly the basic, if you want to learn about ammy, go to her character page… But Plenty of people have already stated in this thread that; Jill loves lockdown assist, Cold star is a lockdown assist. Therefore Jill/Ammy would work out pretty well.

As for your last assist, it solely depends on what you think is important. This has already been discussed a couple of pages ago which I specifically stated in my first post. It all depends on what you want. Most people go for Horizontal coverage or vertical coverage. Some people feel that there is no need for vertical coverage because she cannot take advantage of those assist well enough… Some people feel that she needs horizontal coverage since her ground game is her strongest, and she needs to pressure the opponent at all times… Some people feel that she needs something to use to deal with characters that like to chill in the air… It all depends dude.

There is plenty more reasoning and opinions why people feel one is better then the other, but i’m not going to list them all. If you read from page 20 or 25 you’ll see that most of your questions have already been answered or is being discussed at this very moment. Hence the reason why I told you to reread this thread…

Well to answer your question with a question, what else would go well with Ammy? Because most likely you won’t be using Jill the whole time. Unless you want to front load your team. Even then it’s not a good idea since she’s not as good a point character as say, Zero. More often than not you will be playing with 2/3 characters and they need to have synergy too. This question would take you more over to the Ammy forums than here.

Or you could try what Corky suggested and put Doom in, since Doom / Ammy is an established shell. Find another shell with Ammy and hopefully it will work with Jill. She doesn’t need much, just something horizontal, and something lockdown.

Speaking of which, I may just try to switch out sent for ammy on my team. Anyone got any resets worth mentioning with Jill/Ammy? My new team will be Jill/Modok/Ammy, I may just drop sent completely. So it will be similar to moonz team just without Nova. I might even do Jill/Modok/Strange. Well see…

ALso, @paulow3b I started using Jill/Dante/Hawkeye and I am thoroughly enjoying the team. I wanted to know if maybe you could share some tips and tricks with Jill/Hawkeye and Hawkeye/Jill.

I’ve tried to find something with Jill / Ammy. You have to be good at forcing them to block, then you can get your game started. If they happen to eat the damage from cold star because you mixed them up, you won’t even break 600k in your combo. All in all it wasn’t my play style so I dropped it. I hope you can find good stuff.

It may work well for me since a Jill touch can lead to a 100% tac. Sentinel is great but he’s just too nerfed to be a reliable anchor. I also like Jill/Dorm/Shuma well see… I still wanna make Jill/Modok work especially now that I play at UGC offline.

The Jill Video i had shows one reset that pretty much forces people to tech roll forward since it cover front and neutral techs.Also Jill does get a combo extention off Cold Star its just a double cartwheel but hey any damage is better then less damage :stuck_out_tongue: also if you want a forced block you can always get like mid range and do MGS+Ammy Assist its a guaranteed mix-up

Has anyone considered a Jill/Hsien-Ko/x team? Obviously this wouldn’t be a “top teir” team but still. It seems raven spike dhc into Daibakusou Rimoukon (golden armor buff) would be a great way to set up the armored assist and tag back in jill.

Just thought I would ask, I have no experience with Hsien-ko at all but it seems like it would be a fun gimmick team to mess around with.

It kinda depends on the third character…I was actually messing with Jill / Hsien Ko yesterday for quite a while. Its obviously a fantastic shell for mixups and rushdown…the problem is that Jill has issues that Pendulum doesnt solve…and no matter what, if you get hit first, youre at a HUGE disadvantage, regardless if Hsien Ko is second, or on anchor. Hsien Ko is just absolutely terrible at making comebacks. Shes pretty good (actually quite underrated IMO) when it comes to preserving a lead, but if you need to make a comeback, youre kinda fucked. Especially when you think about who Jills other “best” teammates are. Iron Man / Hsien Ko is nothing special…I think the best option you could get would be Strider / Hsien Ko, but that would require no anchor Strider.

I think in theory it might be cool and if played perfectly would probably be strong, but in practice it just doesnt cut it. Too much has to go right and there is way too little room for error imo. Might just be me though.

Played Jill/Hsien-Ko for awhile. Rimoukon has notable disadvantages and comboing off of Pendulum isn’t that great but it provides for great yomi. Chiretou THC is pretty cool, and you can combo off of it from several locations on the screen.

Problem I have with it is that it requires 2 meters to be useful (MGS/Raven Spike–> Rimoukon) and you still have to play Hsien-ko at some point.

Ive decided to lab Modok/Jill/Doom. I will miss the bomb assist lol. Psionic blaster assist seems to just be better for this team. Mainly because missile’s is way better for modok, but also not that bad for Jill as far as combo extensions. She can combo off air tick throws into Dooms assist so its not so bad. They all got infinites so that makes me feel sexy as well :wink:

So recently I’ve been looking into a sentinel team for jill so I can do some fun resets. I used to play jill/ironman/sent but honestly I couldn’t stand playing iron man.

Anyway I’ve been thinking about maybe jill/sent/hawkeye as an option. Hawkeye’s triple arrow doesn’t cause a soft knockdown which is nice. Sentinel second provides a decent THC and the plasma storm dhc does nice damage. Also I think hawkeye is a better anchor than sent, though that may be because my sent sucks. The only real concern seems to be air based characters since I won’t have vajra and I’m unsure how well hawkeye/sent would work together.

Any thoughts?

Can Work just make sure you get your sentinel infinites down and have a strong ground game and you should be good. Also dont forget to use MGS+Drones for lock down with jill and if you have hawkeye H shot + up arrows and drones should cover you

What team do you guys think is stronger? Jill/Doom/Ammy or Jill/Doom/Stridrer?

I would say that really comes down to preference and the match-up. If you are confident you don’t need an anti air assist then I’m sure doom/ammy would be fine. Personally I would say doom/strider is a better team though. Vajra is a great anti air tool and works well for resets as well, in addition strider is a better anchor.

If you can play both strider and ammy I would suggest playing whichever one suites your neutral game needs more. Hope that helps

Jill/Doom/Strider. Strider is Jill’s best friend and balances bad matchups to tolerable or matchups in your favor. Some matchups such as Trish and Doom are absurdly in Jill’s favor with Strider, but without aren’t as pretty.

For clarities sake, I dont like Doom with Jill at all. Converting off of Plasma beam can be very finicky and you dont get good tech / reset options with it. Unibeam does everything far better (for Jill).

That being said, Iron Man doesnt use Jills other optimal assists (Vajra, Cold Star, etc) as well as Doom does simply by virtue of his character. Idk. I personally never use Doom with Jill.
