The problem with RR is that he still has a lot of startup frames as an assist before he uses the Spitfire itself while Magneto’s fast beam snipes assist calls based on startup frames alone.
Jill/RR/Strider is a pretty legit team and it has a lot of REALLY dirty stuff going for it between all the characters.
Boulder loop–> Call Strider–> TK Oil Bomb–>Oil Bomb Hit–>Whatever you want for huge damage.
RR Big Trap Hyper–> Jill Mad Beast/Any hyper in the corner for unblockables.
Jill Paulo Extension w/ Spitfire/ Tech covered resets with Spitfire
Strider–>Fuzzies/mixups and combos for days with Spitifre.
Team has a lot going for it, and damage can be mitigated if you do high execution combos; but it’s really squishy and lacks the “optimal” assists that each character wants.
For fun, I played it on ranked. Won 18 games straight till I got bored.
I agree that the team is really dirty. The assists don’t really help each other in the neutral game, and it really shines when you actually land a hit so you can get into your mixups.
I wish you recorded that, I would like to see how you would play it, NSR I still don’t know what to do w/ Mad Beast.
I don’t mind that the rest of the team does low damage, the thing that puts me the most off is that Strider does 0 damage by himself w/o xfactor. However, that being said, each character’s assists are useful to each other in some sort of way, it’s not like the team out of order will fall apart. I like it, I’m just having problems with it and I’m starting to plateau.
strider can hit close to 700K without xfac lol its just that no one ever uses those combos. I can get 650K consistently with strider, no assists midscreen
He gets resets out the ass after his hyper or on any knockdown so it’s not that big of a deal if you’re doing optimal combos.
An easy one would be his Satelite pickup birdbomb one that no one does.
With satellite
M,H,2H,4H,S,j. MMxxDouble Jump, HS, Call Bird bomb, Satelite Shot, Wall cling–> j.LMHxxGram Heavy, Call satellite, Fire, Vajra, Hyper. After legion Wall cling–> H for a ambigious 50/50.
Or if you want a guard break w/ Spitfire you can change that ending by–> After gram Heavy, Call Satelitte, Gram L, Call Spitfire, Satelitte shot, Bird-bomb, jump-grab.
Well timed it’s a guard break or you can change it into a 50.50 in any direction you choose.
No one’s been anywhere helpful on the Strider forums. Most of the things I get are ok maybe first combo is about 400-500k w/o super, then afterwards, I get a reset, but since it’s either airborne or too close to the corner or some other situation, my next reset does about 400k w/ super.
I’ll give what you suggested a shot, NSR. Stars, what combo are you doing that does 700k? I have trouble breaking even 600k w/ this guy. Most of the time too, I’m comboing into the corner, which makes him lose a LOT of damage. But I’d like to know this midscreen combo so I can change it up for corner.

I kind of want to play Strider/RR/Dante, seems like a very good team. I’m kind of fighting between Dante/Vergil/Magneto and Strange/RR/Ammy for now though. And of course i always have my jill side team of Jill/RR/Strider ^_^, fucking love that team. Don’t practice it as much as I should, though.
I lost 24 vs 17 against a Magneto, Dormammu, Doom player (he is very good, by the way). In this set, I realized that some antiair assist would go perfectly well…
That’s when I had an insight… I don’t have to, mandatorily, play only with one composition. So I guess switching Spencer with Dante (Jam Session) may be good at some matches. Thanks God I’ve already gone to the training room with Dante. So, it’s showtime.
I was running my Jill / RR / Strider against two different people playing that team yesterday. I went 11-10 w/ both of them. Although there were games where one of us would win 3 straight then the other would win 2 straight, so I’m not sure how consistent this will be. Strider is still my weakest link, but this team gets results for me, so I think I’ll stick with it.
I have a problem with mag blast + missiles though. I can’t do anything to get in, so I kind of just have to force my way in there with the slow spitfire backing me up.

On a serious note, I find it funny how people say Sentinel sucks so badly yet everybody and their mothers still uses the character.
He kind of does to a degree. It’s the reset potential with Jill that keeps me hooked to the wack bot with drones. That, and I liked sentinel since MVC2, I used to use him with Rogue and Cyclops/Commando.
I really want to play a Jill team but I don’t want to drop Akuma, would Jill/Dante/Akuma be a good team? Akuma Tatsu has some nice durability and projectile nullification that it seems like it would do well in being the horizontal lockdown/get-in assist Jill needs. Would there be any variation of the Jill/x/Akuma shell that is viable?
Thats a tough one for me to answer since I have never seen anyone use Jill/Akuma together competitively. It seems like Jill/Akuma can be lamed out from afar though just thinking about it
in theory. Why dont you try someone with a full screen projectile that will help Jill get in from full screen, then with Akuma helping you lock them down when there up close. You can also try the team you mentioned and see how that works out for you with jam session and tatsu. Might as well give it a shot especially if you find that Jill/Dante/Akuma has some viable tech together. Jill/Dante already has great synergy so I would say give that team a shot
