HM is a better assist for jill, but i think that with a team like jill/doom/sent you might still have trouble getting in if you dont use plasma beam. HM and sent drones are both amazing assist but they’re far from the best when it comes to closing a big distance against good zoning characters with fast/high durability projectiles, good zoning characters have projectiles that could easily hit those assists and jill cant rly cover them if there’s more than a half screen distance between you.

guys i have picked up jill again i think ive found my soul team that will start to bring in wins for me,

Jill- Sommersault
Spencer- Wire grapple
Trish- Low voltage

I like the team synergy it does great with dhcs from a stand point aside from jill>spencer if you dont cancel it early

my problem with this team gets opened up with assists i get amazing mixups with spencer so he cant be changed regardless, trish is an amazing anchor so she cant be changed and i like her and spencers dynamics.

OTG’s its not that important but alot of my mixup potency will come from throws following flyingve’s tech videos and options any help guys if not probably have to change jill to someone else and id really hate to do that

I’m sure this is a radical idea but i’d love to see a pro try Jill/Trish/X-23

Thoughts on Jill/Chris/Ami? Coldstar with Ami obviously for the lockdown
Also do you think it’s worth giving up Chris’ gunfire assist for the Grenade-relaunch into command-throw?

Personally, I dont really like Chris on that team…Chris isnt a great benefactor of Cold Star, and he doesnt really bring a whole lot assist wise. I mean, if youre a character loyalist, go for it, but I think a different character would bring better things to the team as a whole…but thats just me

I see a lot of you guys play Jill with Drones, which obviously makes perfect sense when the drones are out there flying at the opponent. But aside from burning a meter on MGS, how does Jill reliably protect a Sentinel call? I’ll be sold on Sent immediately if I can feel confident that calling him isn’t basically a formal request to play a 2-character team.

Well, you only burn the MGS if you have too. After you punish them for punishing your assist enough times they will stop.

So MGS IS how you protect sent, under the premise that eventually you won’t need to any more (assuming they learn their lesson)?

It’s part of both actually. It’s not that i love Chris or anything, but I think his Gunfire benefits Jill pretty well and I don’t really like characters with flight mode, so alot of the characters that would supply a good assist I don’t really wanna play.
Frank would be another one I’d consider, but I’m having trouble leveling him up. Apart from that most characters I’m decent at don’t fit that 2nd slot too well

Well, Drones will let you combo after MGS, so if they don’t learn their lesson, you should win. You can also use Drones+MGS to close the gap fullscreen through Zoning.

Beware of characters like Spencer or Viper with good Invul supers. Also, calling drones you fullscreen usually isn’t the best idea anyways, it’s why I usually pair Jill with a faster assist.

Right, well I had also asked if she had any established best friend assists. Basically, Hawkeye is non-negotiable, though I imagine arrows aren’t exactly bad for her. But I’m trying to find an ideal 3rd with an assist to really push her over the top. In theory that would be Drones or Cold Star, but I honestly have no idea, hence asking the experts :slight_smile: If you were playing Jill Hawkeye xxx, who would be your top considerations for the 3-spot?

The lockdown is amazing, Level 4 in a variety of ways, etc.

I rly havent seen any assists that make me believe she has any BFs, also i dont rly think that jill needs a lockdown assist that much, i mean they’re great ofcourse for making her mixup game even stronger but there are other assists that she benefits from a lot more. If i were to rank the top 3 best assists for jill they would probably be:

1-Long range projectiles or anti zoning assists.
2-OTGs
3-Lockdown

And i dont rly like drones for jill, if you’re facing a character with long range attacks (which is what jill needs help with the most) then you’re not rly gonna get any chance to safely call drones, if you call it from full screen they can easily hit sentinel with projectiles, and if you’re close there’s always the risk of him getting caught in a combo because of how slow the assist is.

Lockdown assists make it so that characters (Ryu mainly) can’t crouch L lame her out.

NeoArtisan- That’s pretty much why I was hesitant to go with Sent before asking here how she can protect him. Best answer seems to be burning a meter on MGS till they stop trying to catch Sent. I have a great projectile assist already and am thinking a lockdown would be great. So unless I’m forgetting something obvious, that seems to leave me with Drones, Cold Star, and Tatsu (surprisingly, Hidden Missiles don’t seem so helpful for Jill). Can Jill profit from a landed Tatsu? I haven’t explored Tatsu much in Ult, but def know it’s way harder to combo from than vanilla. Edit: Looking at your sig, why Vajra for Jill? Just as something they have to deal with giving you an opening to wavedash in?

FlyingVe- I logged on now because I just remembered you like an OTG assist for your Jill, and was going to edit my post basically say “not including OTG,” heh. I use Hawk’s triple arrows, and actually tried poison arrow, but it’s wayyyy too slow to be a combo extending OTG (ditto Dante’s Crystal, but with fewer "y"s in wayyyy). And since Hawkeye’s non-negotiable, unless arrows are perfectly sufficient to make her an offensive machine (doubt it), I’m going with an OTG-less Jill. Seems like, similar to Vergil, an OTG assist makes life better, but is not a requirement for success. Is this summation wrong?

I really like Wesker a lot, so if an OTG is virtually required I wouldn’t have a problem playing him, but that would make the team Jill Wesker Hawkeye and, again, arrows would have to suffice as Jill’s only assist. Basically at this point I feel like I’ve got to go Jill Hawk Ammy or Jill Hawk Sent unless your reply to this completely deconfirms my assumptions.

Well, if you wanna combo off air throw’s you’ll need to OTG or THC, and OTG’s are much better than THC, so it’s your pick.

Plus an OTG assist helps confirm into combo from alot of situations.

Also, unrelated, Vergil doesn’t need an OTG assist at all, people are just to lazy to learn good combo’s with him.
