Still loling at the people who think this should somehow be tourney viable. What are you guys smoking? Have you even been to tournaments before? People are putting money on the line, if everything is not EXACTLY even for EVERYONE in the tournament, nobody will join… (Except the PS3 owners).
Imagine if AE was PS3 exclusive lol… good luck going to tournament having little experience against twins. Not only would it be ridiculous, but even if it was allowed, nobody competitive who played on xbox would even bother joining the tournament.
Who really cares about matchup experience. Everyone can just read up on the characters and what they can or can’t do online and have a decent idea on what they do. If there where exclusives on the 360, I’d just do what I said and learn.
People that want to win money really care about matchup experience, you dolt. One of the best ways to get specific experience is to go into training mode and set the dummy to do whatever move and see what you can do against it. You cannot do that if you play on 360.
I’m so glad that people that are complaining aren’t TOs because we’d have a lot of dumb tournaments!
Why is everyone so up in arms about these 5 PS only characters??? Has everyone just decided the gems are cool now? I missed that part. SF x Trolling had so much potential could still be good which will be a nice surprise but the fighting game market is getting oversaturated already last year i bought tekken, mv3(twice!) Street fighter(again! cuz i hate DLC) and KOF13 and SF3(rip off shoddy online) and at least another one this year VF5 FS …its getting worse then the FPS genre

I think it was said by the devs (particular Ono) that they wanted to add a element of collecting and adaptability seen in card games like MTG/Yugioh/etc. I’m all for this element in fighting games, as I’ve seen it done a bunch before.
I’m all for it, if it don’t unbalance the game. I thought all the gems except DLC ones were unlocked from the get go, so its possible for someone to beat you with gems you don’t have??
This is what I kinda like about the feature. If you don’t like something for a character (like terrible atk damage), just use gems to beef them up and send them back to Kenya!
I wonder if people that think “buying another console for 5 characters” is acceptable actually works for their money.
According to crosscounter people that are expressing their worries about gems are “idiots” and “capcom knows better”. Waiting until reviews is probably the smarter thing to do instead of preordering like actual idiots.
I like how the market is suddenly saturated despite the fact that we’re seeing the same amount of releases (or even less) as compared to 2000-2008. And with more people buying too.
I think the OP actually has a fair point, and his line of thought is logical. But even as someone who buys the PS3 version of any cross-platform game 9 times out of 10, I have to acknowledge that the 360 has a more robust online community. I think ultimately choosing the PS3 version as a standard would severely hurt the game overall.
Imagine insert your favorite fighting game and then having to play against your/your character’s worst match-up/the best character in the game, without having ever played them once before. I can know everything about the character and what they can do, but until I play him that doesnt mean anything. Its why characters like Hakan and Dan can get away with wins even if the player themselves is less than stellar- because they’re hardly ever picked.
Pretty sure this discussion is done. Majority are in favor of banning the exclusives and, more importantly, I believe we know what EVO’s policies on this are anyway (i.e. ban the exclusives).
