Update with Jago’s and Xuses’ tutorials, as well as the Dante/Vergil Combo Montage. Put them both into new categories, and I’m considering moving D’Nyc3’s videos to the last category.
If anyone thinks there’s a video that must be in the first post and I missed for any reason, please tell me and I’ll add it right away.
Zade (VER/WES/HAWK) vs SYN.Aaron (DOR/DOOM/WES) - UMVC3 (WSO 3V3 DEC 1st Special)
Some older UMVC3 footage since I haven’t been to tournaments really due to busyness. I did not by the way have the game early at all, I played it for no more then 2 hours before release. Anyway, this was the match with one of the UKs best players, SYN.Aaron. My Vergil wasn’t very clean back then but it’s the only footage I have at the moment. I then lost to the final member of team Syndicate Don D. 1 game Marvel is harsh!

Vergil with Assists: OTG / Hiryu
1 Meter Start-up, Touch of Death

10% Meter Start-Up, 1 Million Damage

I just want to leave this video of Japanese play, that, in my opinion, has one of the best reset technology with Vergil/Swords and Nova Assist.

I’m sure this isn’t new to most Vergil players but I made a vid of a pretty effective reset that I use on one of my teams.

You know I always thought those kind of resets were useless because Vergil has too spend two meters to do it, but now I can see that its pretty damn useful. It also makes me understand why Capcom had to make it cost a meter to switch his sword’s position. Just imagining Vergil doing that kind of thing for one meter makes me shudder.
For anyone playing team trenchcoat some really good combos with just one bar

Here’s some random Vergil stuff I put together.

@EvilToaster, with regards to the stored charge round trips, what specifically are you doing? Like, are you saying you must
- release the round trip
- start another normal that is blocked and immediately press and hold down L or whatever button in question charges the round trip
- string together a 2nd normal so that the round trip that has been thrown comes back while the opponent is in blockstun from the 2nd normal
- release the round trip (Loop ad nauseum)?
I can’t seem to get it to work and I’m trying to interpret your instructions but it’d be awesome to have a little clarification.
Cheers
MKP
That’s not quite it. What he’s doing is
-start a normal that is blocked (or hits) and immediately release round trip upon hit/block.
-press and hold down an attack button very quickly afterwards (easiest with the same button that you let go of to fire round trip)
-Loop ad nauseum.
The trick is to release round trip during the hitlag of your normal (hitlag is the time when the game freezes for a bit when something is hit), and also hold down a button again during that same hitlag.
The easiest way I’ve found to do the glitch is release the button when you see the effects on character (the blue flash when you block, the yellowish flash when you land a hit) I was able to do like 20 in a row using that.

You had me so excited to see the swords negating zero’s level 3 damn.
What’s the startup on these swords, can it be activated on reaction to a super because then…Vergil would be top tier.
I think it depends on the super you’re reacting to. I’m not sure of the frame data. But all I know as soon as the start up is done and the swords are out you’re pretty much set. Like if you get any space or time while fighting dark Phoenix just activate and laugh
Good video for future references for those that weren’t abusing this yet. Th only non beam hyper swords loses too is Dorm’s stalker flare if I recall correctly. Swords do take 18 of the flares durability points so the damage/block time from it becomes less scary. It is a bit difficult to swords on reaction without quite a bit of space btw
The problem is that they dont have start up invincibility. So its unpractical if not impossible to use them to negate supers, but nice of you for making the video.
You can use an invincible super and DHC into swords you know (swords is a 1 frame DHC yay!)
Posting this to all 3 character threads but heres a showcase of my current team, theres a few combos where i could have squeezed in a wall bounce (did this at like 3 in the morning lol) but enjoy!
Beginning stuff is meter intensive but the later stuff is more practical

1,050,000 damage combo as long as you have an OTG assist.
enjoy!
