yeah, good eye. But I didn’t attempt. True though.

the music is from ghost in the shell tv animetion, I like it even more than original movie.
they appear to be more human, in movie, they are like freaking robot for real.
your connection is actually decent when we play, same as stabricon, you both appear green to me.
sad only few people I know have good connection on xbl…and I hate mirror.
wait when my guile finish training, so I can use guile vs bison

this is one decent gouken we play offline, I was lose to him whole night, non stop…
only few lucky wins when he make mistake, I need more specific advise not too general like improve footsie or so…
I do post this video and ask kim1234 online, but after watch so many times, I still can’t figure out when and where should I jump, or general goal to be work on, I know I can push him to corner, but when to let him go and when not, is the problem.
Hey dictator users i was wondering could you all give me some tips on what I should do to make my bison better I also play with balrog

ur bison suffer kind of same problem of mine:
me too, I frame trap little bit too much, you know some GDLK people WILL focus AFTER your ONE GDM jab and bait your st.fierce frame trap and CRUMBLE you? I know one able did that to me online before…that mind game is so good, so I force to change frame trap to other option like cr.mk or st.mp that got little bit faster recovery than st.fierce.
ALSO MU experience was kind of rusty, I don’t know how to play blanka either but must be better way out there than jump.
I think less head stomp and less devil reverse, more spacing neutral jump and sometime back off do a forward jump to bait out their jump is good too, in fireball case yes, blanka you just need to WALK I think.
MOST player think bison is so free on jump in, if you have very very solid spacing and anti air you often stun them.
some of your stuff I think you are abusing them little too much, if you change pattern might nail them when they try to focus and get bigger punish.
(dash up jab jab jab cr.mk psycho crusher
right now I am cardboard box turtle, it look solid but when storm comes I get wet little slower than paper armor but I still crumble like crazy fast.
I wish I can one day evolve to titanium turtle, walk back whole day come to me bro.
Thanks for the feed kisaku normally when i see the focus comming I empty jump grab or dash grab sometimes i get caught and i do abuse my jump in combos too much I think my spacing is the problem and finally realizing DR, HS, SD are freebie moves going to practice to not use them as much
Kisaku:
what space should I jump? can anyone draw a line where I should be??
-Why jump? you know, jump of bison is one of longest jump in this game, so, it’s never good idea to jump a lot, neutral jump in full screen against cheap fireball is nice
Your normal move is better so you can win with only ground game
his fire ball can’t be focus, I try focus twice but he get smart to just cr.mp fireball break my focus, not fireball twice anymore.
False, you can focus full screen, to have U2 and stop firebal strategy, why focus firebal at cr mp range??? why attack? Punish read fireball with head press and build metter and u2 at full screen and provoc his attack and mistake
When you see demon flip, just jump mp twice to broke his Air Focus
On your video:
You don’t punish his wiff move, why? you have st mk and st hk to punish him, use it!
At his wake up, you backwalk and open your low guard… why???
When you have better life, yoçu attack and lost, go full screen, jump upside fireball and punish his attack and you win, bison is a turtle character, corner attack is good to have a life advantage but not to kill, when you have better life, just wait to win with time over or kill him with punish, kim or TUC never attack, just only if they have bad life
sorry for my english ^^
You shouldn’t be jumping at Gouken. If you jump a fireball he will generally recover in time to guess counter, which you can beat with a deep jump in or empty jump.
You can win on the ground though. You can focus dash through Gouken’s fireballs, and around half screen you can EX scissors through if you have charge. He can’t do much about focus dash except guess palm, which you can punish at certain distances. If he’s breaking your focus with cr.mp xx fb, you’re already close enough to him and you should be out poking him. Cr.mk is really good against him. You out range him, but he has good normals too. Watch out for st.fp, cr.mk, cr.mp, and his gdlk sweep.
Also, you can’t U2 his fireballs on reaction at all, he recovers way too quickly. The only way is if he’s stupid and EX’s or charges a fireball.
Anything canceled into ex-pc on his wakeup will beat his counters (even EX) clean. Gouken can’t punish EX psycho either. Anything canceled into EX-headstomp works too, but if he just blocks, he can just dash under the headstomp (his dash is really fast). Gouken has to guess high/mid/low for his regular kongos, so just mix up between different attacks, or just bait it and throw. If you’re getting countered too much you’re too predictable.
His demonflip dive kick and his normal divekick have different amounts of blockstun, so you have to be careful and tech his throws/CH setups differently for both moves.
Using j.mp to beat his demonflip pressure is a good idea. Thanks for the idea gagapa
Be careful about focus dashing through them. You’ll just walk into rush palm if you do it at the wrong place.
some of stuff is out of my control, I think I do respecting his move little bit too much.
Head stomp punish fireball are not realistic, maybe 1 maybe 2 times but that is about it, I rather block all the fireball and push them to corner like Chun Li match up.
In my idea, that Bison should be no devil reverse and no head stomp, those YOMI and PUUPA (Glitch? Gimmick?) is the problem of bad example that bison get punish and can’t evolve into higher ground, I didn’t said my idea is superior or right way, but I was so stun that people have enough (barely enough)
match up experience can just punish these 2 move by reaction, so easy.(that gouken if chose Ultra 2, I can’t do devil reverse either)
I can try focus twice, it work only once because his palm whiff.
I try not to jump, but with out jump in he is totally disrespect my spacing (I can’t do neutral jump, I can’t even walk back and jump to him in any range if he knew I gonna do it)
it might be just little thing I am missing here, before people answering my question I save this homework for later…
that palm sweep + fireball are so god like, I can’t even get into st.mk range to trade.
"Head stomp punish fireball are not realistic, maybe 1 maybe 2 times but that is about it, I rather block all the fireball and push them to corner like Chun Li match up."
sorry but head press is a nightmare for all fireball character, when you read a fireball, do a head press, you “cheap it”,he cant backdash without cancel fireball and at start, he has no 2 metter to do it
After, you have an advanatge, just wait time over and his attack
And in chunli matchup you push them in a corner? sorry but a good chunli you cant, chunli match up is very hard 6/4 in vanilla before her U2, you can just touch her with st mk and turtle, she has lot of option to counter your push strategy sorry
sorry but i dont undertstand: gouken cant punish devil reverse full screen (and if he has U2, i think you have already metter…), and you do headpress only when you read a fireball so it’s very safe for you to use that
“i can try focus twice” NEVER in this game, 2 focus = 40% damage, it’s very very very risky!
sorry but palm sweep it’s unsafe, you can punish all palm!
NastyBisonUser:
against ryu:
U1???
0.24: very dangerous knee press: it’s not the good range to use knee press LK, he can punish with a very big damage
0.30: he’s jumping, use cr hp to punish him (i know you play in ps3, it’s more difficult to use cr hp than xbox360)
0.32: very good, wiff punish his sweep
0.38 0.40: you lost life when you block fireball so FA backdash or neutral jump
0.43: Free jump, please punish him!
0.50: Free jump again
1.04: 4 fireball block: loose life free, you can build ultra with FA
1.07: ryu has U1 and you jump? are you crazy? no jump when ryu have ultra, it’s very too risky
1.16: very nice, it’s the clue of this MU
1.28: see your life and his life, now you have to turtle and punish his move to finish him, you prefer forward and lost life, what do you think about that?
1.46: Learn Umblockable set up after backthrow: dash, wait, jump HK
1.51: you want to do some pressure but i see: you have all your life, not ryu, you have 2 metter, not him, why you burn your ex just to do nothing? 2 metter = 2 ex psycho
2.00: jump free
2.22: ex knee press!
2.29: jump free
2.32: back teleport between his light move is powerfull!
sry I can’t learn your way, head stomp punish fireball is not for me because my reflex is too bad.
back to question, if you can’t jump out gouken fireball, what should I do? focus?
I mean the MU page for gouken is out dated, the guy I play his spacing and tactic is fully PACKED against bison (according he play so much bison he knows)
I will play again with him tonight, plus more training with some best people around my area.
sometime, I just feel lucky I meet those people I can play offline with, their teaching are far worth than what I learn online.
BTW:
anti air? what is the good timing for TRADE? I wish I can learn the good timing for at least TRADE their to just keep my spacing, if in corner, I can’t do j.fierce to punish on reaction so I do only st.mp/st.fierce/roundhouse sometime if I walk back cr.mp or cr.mk work too, but is neutral jump good? I mean how I should do it? mash neutral jump fierce? (that thing work only online…but it work)
“back to question, if you can’t jump out gouken fireball, what should I do? focus?”
do you ever see top bison against top sagat?
it’s the “same” MU, turtle, build metter, wait and win with time over, if only one head press touch him, you win cause gouken cant attack you without risk
stay full creen, neutral jump and focus, and wait attack, if gouken never attack you, you dont have to attack him
you know, after 98 sec, you can touch him with head press, devil reverse, knee press hk, but not him, he need to attack at close range for win if you wait and neutral jump all of his firebal and when you see his jump or demon flip, just punish him and go turtle
do you understand what i mean?
don’t take risk, don’t be hurt
I have some gouken exp,and this match is mostly a test of ur patience. Bison cant dish out dmg/stun as fast gouken so when u get hit by him its hard to shift momentum back. Also if the gouken player knows the match-up well then he’s willing to block a few sk’s and cr:lk’s while waiting for u eff up, get impatient, or trade with his moves (sweep). (Imo) bison should (slowly) push gouken to the corner then apply cr:lk pressure, when close do cr:lk(x3) “focus dash” back in and repeat(if they hit then just confirm into sk), this conditions gouken to guess parry or jump next time he’s in that situation. Then i mix in throws/mid attacks or just sit n wait. If u can keep em in that spot long enough then bison will eventually net damage(sk hit/chip damage & st:rh).Thats when i look out for random parries/ex tastu/back throw etc…
My overall goal when facing (good) goukens is to abuse cr:lk when close until they adjust then mix it up just a little to throw them off.
PS.Dont jump or hs/dr when u have him cornered he can easily escape then u have to play the zoning game again…
I hope this was helpful
that is actually what I need…
/to gagapa
I know some head stomp/devil reverse are safe (kinda) on throw/crumble, but how you timing to punish the fireball regardless that being punish so hard??
should Bison not being a real turtle but mobile hit and run turtle??
well I still learn my play, and regard that MU maybe I should change style now and then to mix them up so I will not be too easy to read.
after all, no devil reverse and no head stomp that is like 2 of my move set are gone…only footsie and scissor is kind of boring but it work for me.
Kinda stupid question, but I’m really really bad at doing teleports during an opponent’s blockstring. How are your inputs for this? Do you just do one precise motion + button press with correct timing or do you just wiggle the stick and mash on buttons? Not really sure which method is better.
Just be aware that Gouken can do counters in between your c.LKs, this is very likely to happen when it’s becoming obvious that you are going for c.LK strings very often.
…Thats the point…
Gagapa, I love your answers.
What do you guys think about eyeKaRiZzMa? He’s a Bison player from Austin, Texas. I used to watch a ton of his matches back in Super. I no longer play Bison and moved to Gief, but I find Karizzma to be really solid.
