Dude, that is my problem with recording stuff. I only have an iPod to record but I don’t have anything high enough to set it to record while I do a combo. Poverty setups.
I used a tower fan with some glu tac where my phone could drop a nice 40cm to tiled floor
living life on the edge
I might just tie my phone to my head with a belt w/o covering the camera. You’d see what I see…?
How do you guys raw tag from a normal jump height air throw to hit Wolvie et al?
my normals just hit him
Air dash down-forward whiff H, walk forward s.MS, I never miss it on Wolvie
Another question on raw tag air throws
What do you guys do for Dr Strange and Iron Fist?
I’m doing the same thing i do for Wolvie and Zero but I can’t seem to link M to S
Use f.H instead.
6H rarely has enough range. S is wider.
Strange can’t get comboed off an air throw hard tag. Even off the crumple energy javelin tag to Doom combo, you have to do 2L -> Hard Kick which is weird.
EDIT: my bad, walk forward 5M Hard Kick is perfect for Strange. For Iron Fist you gotta do walk forward 5H S.
Zero is tough midscreen, but in the corner you can just 5H without too much trouble. He and most of the female cast seem to get hit by that more easily than walk forward 5M.
Btw, on Arthur you somehow have enough time to Doomhop over and 5M him, it’s weird. Doesn’t work on Ammy tho, she recovers too fast.
f.H works on both of those characters. Same thing, just walk forward slightly, s.M > f.H. I just tested it again to make sure. 100% consistent on both.
you have time to doom hop?
wtf
Ok, f.H, I’ll give that a shot
My friend and I could not get it to work on Iron Fist midscreen to save our lives. In the corner, whatever, but midscreen you gotta use 5H.
Okay, I once again just went into training mode, set Iron Fist to jump in the left corner, threw him back (into midscreen), did ADDF > whiff j.H > raw tag Doom > walk forward s.M > f.H, and hit it 10 times in a row.
Then I did the same from SJ height, and hit it 10 times in a row.
Then just for the hell of it, I did it from exactly midscreen, thrown both directions, did the same thing, and hit it 10 times in a row in each direction.
The only change, is that it’s slightly more strict from SJ height. I would make a video, but it would take too long and be crap quality, so I’d rather not unless it’s needed. It works.
It’s all good, I’ll believe you can do it it’s just that neither me and my friend who play Nova/Doom could. Either way HS is better for damage/scaling so that should be used imo.
Ok so I’m in need of some help. This isn’t even the most appropriate place for it but Nova is by far one of the nicest, helpful and knowledgeable sub-boards around here so I’ll be talking to you about this. I’ve been in a bit of a slump for a couple of months. I’ve lately started playing Marvel on stick and I’ve kind of struggled with it. I’ve played with Street Fighter on the stick for a good three years now but after it died out two years ago when I picked Ultimate up so I always played this on a pad and always felt like a fish on a water. Thing is, my sixaxis’ d-pad literally broke in half after a trip in my backpack to a tournament so while I can mostly certainly play other games with the analog, Marvel is just out of the question, so I’ve been playing it on a stick and I’ve really struggled with it. I have the execution down for combos and setups, but it’s the whole neutral game, assist-calling and on-the-spot thinking that I’ve really struggled with, especially with the character I’ve always done best with, Nova himself. With that in mind, I thought of maybe resetting my progress with this game and ride the “fresh” start with a new team and pick up what I personally believe to be Frank’s best team, Magneto/Dante/Frank. Thing is, while I most certainly believe I have what it takes to play a tournament-viable Magneto, it’s dante that I really really struggle with. I already played him for the entire (short-lived) duration of Vanilla and was never very good with him. I know that Dante isn’t a character you’ll learn in a month, two, or even in a year, but I really feel that outside of training mode, he’s just the type of character I’ll struggle with. His combos all rely a lot on spacing and character-falling speeds and I really dislike that because I think I lack the eye for it. Not like Magneto, whose combos I can do much more smoothly, even the more complicated ones (obviously excluding the shit Rayray can do). With that in mind, I am trying to decide playing a top tier team for my other favorite character in this game, after Frank, which is obviously Nova. This would be an easier pick because I could just default to Nova/Doom/Ammy, but again, since I’m now playing on the stick, I’m considering picking up a new character to arguably make my team better: Strider. I think it would help me immensely against two characters I have a history of losing to: Zero and Morrigan. I would be willing to put full time into learning him and the timing would be perfect because of @Marvelo’s amazing tutorial so far. What would you guys recommend? I want to stuck to one of my two favorite characters and unfortunately I believe that with the game evolving, it’s too big a risk to have them together on the same team, so I have to decide for one. Go for the Frank team or stay with Nova and either keep Ammy or go for Strider. Bring your points up, I’m looking for the most feedback I can get! Thanks a lot everyone
Well. Few things.
I also played on pad. I went from playing on pad the entirety of Vanilla, to finally switching to stick after my 3rd attempt. I definitely recommend playing on stick because of how much more accurate your inputs become. I’d start with doing all the missions for every character to grow comfortable with all the different types of inputs. It’s what I did and it helped. I also recommend learning someone like Dante because he’s a difficult character. learning his bnb on stick will essentially teach you stick. It takes practice, but give it a few more weeks and i’m sure you’ll be okay with it!
Besides that Strider doesn’t help as much as you’d think vs Zero. But it does help a great amount vs Morrigan. Spamming energy javelins while calling Vajra fucks Morrigan up pretty well since it doesn’t really let her get fireballs out and if they get hit by Vajra, EJ will OTG them! Nova/Doom/Strider is an amazing team that can fight absolutely anything you throw at it. Cold Star is amazing for Nova and Doom, so it’s really up to you on what you want to play. All those teams are viable. All you need to fight Zero is plasma beam, good reads, and having no fear. You NEED to box jump vs him. Even though pizza cutter trades with it clean, if he does pizza cutter know that he can’t cancel that into anything even Buster, so you can backdash and cent rush L + assist to pin him for a mixup. Also, if you smell a buster shot you can speed tackle that preemptively for a punish, though he can cancel into sougenmu to stay safe, this is very good vs Zero/Phoenix teams. You can as well keep out Zero teams without a horizontal assist with red life pulse + regular pulse. It eats a hadangeki + a buster shot. Knowing this you can also beat his zoning when close with Grav pulse L lvl 2 + assist. It’ll eat the buster and plasma beam will hit.
Anyway, keep it up and play who you like!
Yeah I know, but that’s the thing; I’ve already 100%'d mission mode twice, both on pad and on stick I absolutely love missions/trials so I usually go back to those just for fun. I can also already do most dante combos with no real issue except like the airdash C combo and shot loops, which I already struggled with on the pad anyway. It’s his neutral that I really struggle with, even if that’s to be expected. It’s the fear of going too long with little benefit that keeps me from truly picking him up versus someone like Doom or Strider. Like I said, it’s not stick execution that I feel weak on, it’s transmiting my thoughts to my neutral game. Once I get the hit I can pretty much do everything I already did on stick except maybe TAC Infinites and one or another harder combo.
Perhaps you could help me make my final decision with more parts of your tutorial :3 thanks a lot for the help man, you rock!
Thanks bro, Appreciate it.
I got the incoming/resets part coming next, then the final part is Dark Strider. Which will be the best!
so i may be onto something but i need peoples help!
marvelo, dougie and disco - i need simple bnbs from your teams that utilize both assists that can preferably end in cent rush M.
this potential new combo tech has already helped my team up its damage and meter gain in certain situations!
my goal is to test this with other peoples teams to see where it can be applied and if its even worth doing!
(yes im being an ass and not sharing it just yet!..but you know i will!!!)
xros-up post a bnb with your team! you and disco run the same team dont you?
