As far as the DeeJay match-up goes i hae played a couple that were pretty good. Jacknife does seem to beat out dive kick. Its gonna be a tough match up for Rufus. In order to win your footsies are gonna have to be on point to win. U2 seems to be the best choice in this match also once you get it your pokes will become more effective
We discussed it in the other thread, but deep dive beats EX jack clean. It’s hard to do, but once you have it, there’s almost nothing DJ can do.
I find this match less annoying than Guile’s(seriously, how can ppl play Guile? It’s so boring!)
I’m not relying on U2 to win the match though.

Hey, just thought I’d add this since I didn’t see anybody mention this:
Bison’s U2 isn’t 100% guaranteed on a blocked EX-Messiah (unlike U1). The only thing I’ve found so far to avoid getting hit by Bison’s U2 after he blocks your EX-Messiah is to simply do nothing (no follow-up) and block. Bison just takes slightly too much time in this situation to get back down to the ground to start his hitting animation. Of course, this opens you up for other stuff, and you still have to block Bison’s U2 correctly (not hard, but it won’t be the same side all the time since it can be directed), but it is good to know that U2 isn’t 100%.

Bison may still hace the edge but now with U2 you can punish backdash, teleport and EX PC.
In practice so far however, I’d much rather have U1 over U2 in the bison matchup. Although being able to punish his “get off me” options, it doesn’t really feel like its important vs. good Bison’s who aren’t predictable with their backdash/tp/EX PC. Also, sometimes its extremely important to be able to take your EX Messiah FADC Ultra dmg in this matchup, if you’re cornered. I dunno, in theory I’d use U2, but in practice U1 has shown much better results for me against strong Bison players.

You know well how bad things are for rufus when cornered against dictator with ultra, every option rufus has in this scenario is risky except for fadc ex messiah and that is 3 stocks. Rufus with U2 against a cornered dictator is the same but now in our favor, maybe even better.
Bison is cornered and now rufus can punish vertical/forward jump, EX PC, EX scissors kicks, teleports and devils reverse with ultra, good bisons will know this and will be scared with a good reason.
He has to take risks to get out of there and rufus damage output is still excellent , on top of rufus pressure/mind games one mistake and he eats a free ultra. Its not that good bisons are predictable, its about options and risk/reward. When rufus gets U2 bison options are severely hurt and once they have the fear of doing anything thats were the rape begins.
Also tried U2 in a series against one of the best akumas in europe, im now sure Rufus beats akuma in SSFIV. U2 is golden in this match, you can punish air fireballs, teleports (even midscreen ones), regular fireballs at mid range, demon flip vortex (not all the options or angles, be careful here) and any kind of jump. Not that akuma had already an easy time against rufus, we still do insane damage on him even with nerfs. U2 is just ricing the cake.
Against sagat/ryu im going for U2 for now but I dont want to call here U2 THE choice, at least not for now.

@maplemaniac Could you be more specific? What was giving you more trouble against ibuki? I find this match being on rufus favor(dont get knocked down without meter or its over) I play a lot against very good ibuki players so maybe I can help you.
I think S.O.S (not the jonas brothers shit =P) is still good, like against chun li who is really safe in everything she does, Id go for U1 there cuz there isnt much she can do about rufus except EX SBK, against cammy as well is pretty good. Abel is another char that Id use U1 against.
Oh dont get me wrong I just was saying how U2 is key in some matchups, but yes, we will be using SOS in tons of matchups. Its nice that both of rufus ultras are excellent =)

i’d argue that you don’t need U2 against: ken, dhalsim (unless u know something i dont)
while you should use it against: Honda (eats buttslams and punishes headbutt) and maybe Claw

the thing about dhalsim, is that if the sim player is good, there wont be much oportunities to get in, whereas if you have U2 he will be more careful with his zoning, because any mistake can cost him a lot of life, like badly placed teleports or blocked jumpback hp. Against ken…yeah, id say you can use both, I just feel is a bit easier with U2. Against ehonda the reason I chose U1 is because you can punish those things normally anyways, so they wont throw them so deliberately, my opinion about U2 is that is all about punishing things you couldnt punish in vanilla, same deal against claw, you can punish/dodge a lot of his stuff normally, so U1 would be the one to go. Also remember is just my personal opinion, so dont take it like its the perfect thing, and feel free to comment and to disagree with it =P

I´ll say ryu and sagat are still worse. I find chunli being 5-5 in super also.
Also, we cant punish akuma teleport with U2 if uses his U2, he can cancel the teleport at any point and hit rufus out of the tornado.
We talked about it but I’m not sure the ryu match up will be one of the worst match ups of Rufus.
Right now I am unable to properly use U2 while being focused on the match up, but once this willl be settled(if it is one day…), maybe the match up can be even or at worst 4.5/5.5.
Akuma is indeed a little bit easier but not that much, and Sagat still pisses me off.
GGs Sharin. I played a little bit more with Juan and choco after you left. Managed to win against choco but Jauan’s Sagat destroyed me. I’m not used to Sagats that launch TU even when they haven’t 2 bars to cancel, so I was too afarid to dive kick him, lol. And since we only played one game, I couldn’t get used to that.
i do think it is too, if i try to pressure he just fly all over the screen, EX stomp, EX PC out, if i try to poke him, st. HK all day, and he is aggresive scizor kick pressure it is a problem too…
