I know it’s probably somewhere in this thread but I couldn’t find it. How can you beat Sagat’s pressure string without using EX messiah? And possibly Bison’s ? I believe it was blocking knee standing… but then what? Sorry if it’s on page 32 or something
I remember reading KDZ’s advice with Bison where he said you just have to keep blocking until they jump in or doing something else because Rufus has the 2nd highest amount of health so all this chip damage would probably be nothing. Then you just roll out or do something to get out of that pressured position.
Hey again,
this time I got some issues with Cammy.
After blocking Spiral Arrow which seems like a free punish opportunity at first (at least for me), I try and do something but eat a Cannon Spike or get thrown.
What’s the best option for me after blocking a Spiral Arrow? Just block or tech?
It’s not that I’m afraid of chip damage killing me, it’s that Sagat/Bison can build meter for free while running down the clock (and I don’t like Sagats with meter ). I’ve already learnt to be patient in these situations but I’d like not needing to be :P.
About that Cammy issue, isn’t spiral arrow pretty safe on max range? Your best option is probably option select at the last possible moment if she does a max range arrow.
If I knew I was going to get pressured or be unable to do anything but eat block strings, then Id try not get myself in that sort of position in first place.
What sort of option selects could you do for spiral arrow?
Maybe it’s just that this guy is so much better than I am, but that’s easier said than done ;).
Crouch tech (cr.lp+lk) is what I’m talking about but a ‘normal’ tech would work almost as well. Just do it very late so that if she does a cannon spike, you’re still blocking. That probably still loses to a delayed cannon spike though :P.
If my advice isn’t correct, please tell me. I don’t want people to use tactics that don’t work because some guy on the internet told them to.
Lol, I’m up for trying shit out.
I tried out Cammy in training mode with her spiral arrow and looks like yeah you were right, if it’s done at max range like say Bison’s sweep then its safe for Cammy so gotta look out for that.
ok guys need help with e honda please give me some tips
What sort of specific problems are you having?
The gameplay I follow is play patiently since Honda can be a turtle. Neutral jump fierce and random torpedoes do a good job keeping Rufus out. But once you get in (slowly and patiently), Honda has a hard time getting out since cross up dive kicks get rid of their charge.
Match up issue for me:
I dont have problems with Chun Li when I’m on the offensive but when Im defending, I always fall for that special overhead kick. What do you look out for so that you can stand up and block this move or better, dive kick her as she lands? I tried reacting after hearing her yell out the move’s name but she seems to yell it out after the moves has already started .
If you’re playing online, learn the range of her cr.RH and when you’re outside of that, hold your block standing rather then low. You can also FA it too, but it’s hard to punish since it recovers quickly. Online though, lag will more often then not cause you to get hit even if you react on time. The good thing is that same lag will usually save you from eating a combo afterwards.
Offline you can definitely react to the overhead as soon as she throws it out at any range. Just gotta react as soon as you see her do the little flip thing. Same for the crossup too, although with spacing it could be a fake crossup as well.
something I saw today:
If you have Viper cornered and you go for a divekick crossup and she does EX flamekick to escape (that is, it doesnt hit you with it) you can punish her with far standing HP, it catches her before she goes out of your range
Heres a compiled list of some great vegas to fight against…let them know u added them from VEGAS LIST

Against Abel, his super will hit you if you go for a hk follow up on the messiah kick.
For me, if i play against people near my area, there’s no lag and I dont feel lag at all. But I still get caught out on that overhead kick. That crossup is no issue for me.
hey guys when you’re fighting a blanka is their a way that you can hit him out of his electricity?
yeah, just wait a bit (in case theyre mashing electricity) then cr.mk xx EX tornado or just EX tornado.
I need some serious tips on Sagat, Hes a *** and I need to actually learn a way to fight at par with him -.- not eat his LK Spam to the face.
Having a hell of a time with gouken if I can get in tight i’m good but if he gets any distance he can keep me away with fireballs. Tornado doesnt beat his high fireball. My only option is to try and guess when he is throwing low or else i get fireballed to all hell. Any ideas how to get past his fireball arsenal to get in close?
Doing this with any lag is tough as hell. If the matchup is laggy enough, you basically have to rely on blind luck to get in if the Gouken doesn’t fall into a fireball pattern.
However, even high fireballs can be Focus absorbed. Get in close, and then see what he does. If he relies on fireball spam to try to push you back, I’m pretty sure you should be able to get in a Focus Attack once you’re close enough, or jab him out of the fireball startup. I don’t have enough Gouken experience to know exactly what works, though
i can focus attack it but by the time i dash another fireball is coming out. There has to be a better way of getting closer to him.
Against Gouken, I’m always tossing out a lot of galactic tornadoes. Not from full screen or anything. Just focus your way to about jump-in range. Just kind of turtle in front of him for a few seconds to see how he reacts. Jump ins are an easy c.mp. Demon flips get met with ex ss or j.hk, ex ss. If he throws a fireball up, c.hp. If he continues to spam fireballs at you jump or GT. Sure you might guess wrong and eat a fireball to the teeth but that’s just how it goes. I tend to favor GT since Goukens also like to fall back on a good deal of focus and his parry. Gouken has pretty crap wake up options. I think his best option is wake up parry but that’s easily baited. Whiffed dives and empty jump cross ups are pretty effective on parry happy Goukens and once you train them not to do that you can resume your offense as normal.
