I just lost to possibly the worst Akuma player in the known universe. Is there a surefire way to beat him? I can’t exactly FADC every FB thrown my way, so hoping some Rufus experts will help me out. Thanks
dive kick over projectiles and use df mk which roles under the air fireballs. or what i like to do is his heavy tornado spin. its not that difficult.:wgrin: anybody else have seemingly easier methods?
well of course you want to get inside
i try to be patient and try to d/f mk (roll)
under air fireballs to close space
when he lands he has to guess
if he jumps away big punish with j Hk or ex snake strike
akumas TP is gonna be a pain but you keep the space close when he TP’s he has to guess
but try to put it this way
you can guess and eat hits (try to not get stunned)
if you get in once and ultra hes dead
the same applies to akuma/sim/seth etc playing keep away
I’ve been having a miserable time against Dhalsims so I decided to try a new strategy in my last two matches. Basically I got tired of advancing and getting hit no matter what, so I played the waiting game.
I stayed at max range and avoided fb’s with focus, neutral dives, neutral tornados, snake strikes, and just stepping back when Sim tried to follow with a poke. Avoiding chip damage is super easy against Sim while building meters.
Eventually Sim will take some shots (especially if you have some grayed health for bait) and that’s what you want . Even if you trade, you win. Teleports, jump ins, and slides are all welcome. Get a life lead, put him up against the clock, and it’s all down hill from there.
Finally, if you ever get yourself in a corner, try to stay there. No Dhalsim in his right mind is gonna teleport behind you then, but he might out of habit. If you step back to avoid enough fires you may even be a lot closer to corner than he realizes.
I don’t know how this shakes out at higher level play, but for once I didn’t feel so desperate in this matchup.
For me I always get right in there face all the time dive kick mixup leave him helpless, they can only answer with a grab on pressure or teleport if timed right. Other then that the hardest part is just getting in, once that is done you cam take out all your stress and anger out on him untill you win the match. ((Then laugh some more when Rufus does that epic belly shake at the end)) lmfao.

As for me, when I play Duhalsim, I play patient game. I lose most of the times when I am hungry or in a bad mood since patience is something that is required to play a good Duhalism. Anyway, I anticipate what other player does,I try to keep certain distance (Not too far and not too close) how frequently they do the Yoga fire. After I get chance to do the H. Messiah kick to jump over the Yoga fire, that’s when I start to put pressure on that Son of B. Don’t give them a chance to teleport out, if they do, just repeat the zoning game again. It is
Try mixing up empty jump-ins to throws, be semi-conservative about your pokes. EX Messiah is a great option, and if they’re pretty close you can try standing close medium kick, as it’s a 2 hitter. I’ve never had the opportunity to try it in a match unfortunately, EX Messiah just does the job too well.
I asked the same question in the vids thread. I think someone asked in the marn thread b4lock but no answer. tho tbf it’s probably buried up in this thread somewhere. I’ll have a dig
I know st.fierce stuffs wheel kick, so tend to throw those out intermittently as random pokes, as you might w/st.strong vs balrog
Yeah not to sure why that thread closed up for some reason.
St.Fierce works great yeah thanks for pointing that out.
I play that Abel player “Bushinnr1” quite alot hes very good, his rush game is sick.

I asked in the marn thread =). But I asked how to play a turtle abel. His jump back medium kick is weird. has very weird hit boxes in the air. So while he jumps back I miss alot. its a very awkward fight that I feel I struggle to win.
I play against a turtle abel ALL the time and don’t have a consistant responce even though i win about 85% of the time. its annoying not knowing what to do.
As for the heel kick. St. mk works wonders for me. Comes out fast and far. nice poke for the abel fight imo.
