Just block and punish it since:
hes on a disadvantage of frames - Low -8 / Strong -9 / Fierce -10
If he does a low just block - Cr.MP xx Fierce Galactic Tornado.
Strong or Fierce - St.FP xx Fierce Galactic Tornado.
Against Guile.
If he Cr.HK you can EX Messiah inbetween the kicks.
the book says there’s a 20 frame gap. taking into account the blockstun from the first c.rk, theres probably less than half that of an open window to take advantage of.
I’m not talking about Abels who don’t space it right, I’m talking about ones that will do everything they can to hit at tiprange.
s.HP wont hit it, far s.MK doesnt seem to work either.
I’m just trying to find out what button to press if they hit a fairly well-spaced Wheelkick, not just easily punishing the terrible Wheelkicks.
i’m pretty sure if they space it right, its 100% safe, aside from ex messiah kick
i dont know about you all and its possible all the guiles i have played are terrible but when the sweep and i block the first hit i jump and do an immediate dive kick into whatever combo…havent been punished for it yet…

uhh to contribute. dont know it its been said before but rufus standing mk beats abel’s wheel kicks clean. so if hes spacing it good enough so you cant punish then prevent em.
Rofl St.MK beats Wheel Kick clean I’ll try this out later on, for some reason the priority on that doesn’t sound right at all lol.
Your only going to be safe with EX Messiah, or if you don’t feel like wasting a bar, just backdash the wheel kick since its only out for 7frames.

I’m so tired of fighting him! Next week, I’m going to do nothing but focus on this matchup. I’ve fought him more than any other two characters combined over the last week, even Ryu and Sagat.
Blanka rocks me pretty hard. Kind of sucks.
Of course, I am sure I could play that match up better, but I just can’t punish the blanka ball. I know you’re supposed to block it, step forward and c.fp, but I just don;t have the timing (might be an online lag thing as well…).
It would be nice if they implemented double blind…

should be ready for any kind of match up, what ever it is i go straight for Rufus or Honda.
Anyways im still having trouble with good El Fuerte players, it aint like I don’t win now an again its the fact that after he gets you on the knock down hes got one air throw move that has some BS priority u cant even back dash it on wake-up, St,Fierce lol doesn’t work, any move you try to throw at him wen getting up he can run stop, run back an then do the air throw. It is so annoying how he pulls it off I cant even take him seriously lol

aight heres the run down with fuerte.
his splash can be regular or a crossup. (block high and guess/react)
his throw version will wiff if you block low. not much you can do since it looks like the splash. from my experience players will go splash, splash, throw.
the slide is not safe on block so punish accordingly
lp snake strikes will help you a lot in this matchup.
be careful of his focus attack. one of the best in the game which leads to an infinite. :arazz:
Yeah thanks for the tip I do realize hes got a splash that has to be blocked high and one of the throws I was speaking about even gets you while crouching loool is practically the gayest moves Ive encountered so far. J,wong did mention in one video that El Fuerte has the potential to be top tier lol
Hey, what do we do vs. Fei Long’s Chicken Wing? I was playing a friend earlier and couldn’t find the move to stop it. It beats the Tornado clean. MP and cr. mp trade or beat it, but only with very specific timing. I’ll take it into training mode, but I wanted to see if you guys knew what the best answer to that move was. Everything else Fei does is pretty worthless vs. Rufus, unless you count his awesome FA.
only the first hit of chicken wing armor breaks ^_^.
other things i’d try(theoretically) lp snakestrike?
c.mp is your best option i believe. he’s in the air for a long time so lots of time to hit the c.mp
block and bait the flamming uppercut thing… really like 90% of the feilongs do it
The issue isn’t learning how to fight Fei long right now, but figuring out the matchup overall. Flame kicks, rekkas and general pokes all work in Rufus’ favor. The CW is the only move that Fei seems to be strong in, so I’m looking to neutralize that, and totally dominate the matchup. So far, outright fighting Fei Long has not been an issue. His only viable weapon against Rufus should be his focus attack, unless we can’t find an answer for the CW.
Overall my win % vs. Fei is sky high, but it’s only a matter of time until people start mastering him, and I want to keep that matchup firmly in Rufus’ favor.
