Part of being trans. For the first 1.25 years, I was on just a testosterone blocker and estrogen (spironolactone and estradiol respectively) which basically gave me blood hormone levels of a pregnant lady. Now I’m also taking the added progesterone which basically gives me the blood hormone levels of a pregnant lady who’s nursing. Fun times ahead

I guess I’m confused. What part can’t you believe? The hormone levels numerically show that. I mean to put a number on it for reference (DBZ style, but real numbers), pregnant women are typically in the 500-900 range, mine are close to 1050. This stimulates a lot of changes seen during puberty (softening of the skin, breast growth, etc.), but does so in a more extreme sense. A typical girl (not on her period) has estrogen levels at around 200.
It’s pretty dangerous to have extreme hormone levels all the time, but so far, my body is being a champ about it all.

I’m not trying to attack you here, but I’m just trying to let you know that its very rude to ask Trans people for before pics, or what their name was before they transitioned. It dosn’t matter what they were before, it only matters what they are now. If they want to share that part of their past with you, then they will. If not, you shouldn’t ask.
I have to ask, at what point in your life did you decide to get hormone injections and become a women? Was it something that dawned on you all of a sudden or a decision you came to? Its just from my perspective I have no idea how anybody would come to that. I mean, thats alot of money besides everything else.

Anyways, asking for that info is highly dependent on the situation it’s being asked. Like if someone is genuinely interested in the process and there is a shared comfort level, then it’s not so rude. However, generally (from my experience anyway) people want to see “before” pictures for malicious reasons or to have some way to marginalize a trans person’s progress. Much like “Hey, well, I guess they look ok now, but I’ve labeled them as ‘man/woman’ already and I’ve seen pictures to validate my reasoning for doing so.” Basically it’s harder to accept someone as female if you have seen them as male (and vice versa, FtM’s have it so hard and my heart goes out to them) so it would be detrimental to my goals of being accepted if I let those kind of pictures out in a community.
I’m also sure that goukipoo wasn’t really trying to be self-righteous either. They were just trying to be informative (at least I hope anyway ). Let’s just try to avoid anger/frustration/srkhate from what is potentially merely a misunderstanding. Let’s make sure the gay thread remains gay ^_~

I thought this was a joke thread about how the other threads on SRK were gay and bashing on them in general, but it’s actually about penises.
Now to not make this a complete troll post, I’ll try asking a serious question: When someone uses the terms “gay”, “***”, etc etc as insults (“that was so gay dude, I can’t believe you play O. Sagat”) is this considered acceptable or not? I ask because I saw a PSA by that one blond girl from Disney or whatever and she was like “WHEN YOU SAY GAY DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU SAY” but I’ve had gay roommates in college (Richmond - VCU) and they used the terms in the exact same way I would normally use them, but being that they were actually gay I never used them in front of them and I never asked them about it as I was afraid to accidentally insult them.
I’m sure this question has been asked earlier in the thread, but given it’s size and the general terms used searching it seems untenable, and I wanted to make a joke about “gay thread” really really bad when I saw this pop to the top of GD.
