So fucking pumped!

MasaRED huh? That’s tight another Japanese beast lives up here huh? Where is he? How would we get in contact with him? Hopefully he’s dope at ST as well.

Anyway, ggs Julian and Mike. Hahah Mike you came on the game all cockswole, like I wasn’t gonna recognize it was you that was playing me towards the end. GTFO. And you still got scraped. Don’t try to front on me like that again, talkin bout “Oh Julian’s gonna be playing you not me!”

Deezo’s Goh stays smashing hoes, and I think you better recognize.

fixed it for you :lovin:

Sorry but until you level up in Dat VF and reco’nize this game is hot like fire, you will never beat me in a VF tournament.

Nigga I ain’t leveling up for no 8 man tourneys that apparently aren’t taking place half the time anymore. Level up your hate game son. I bring heat!

My hate levels are off the charts, so I have nothing left to do but level for 8 man tourneys.

What we need to do is find out what happened to lei-fei Rob and his crew and why they don’t come out anymore. That was lik 3 more entrants right there. Toss in Rob Plummer, Ed, Ryanloop, and Mandel we would have 15 ppl right there.

Frank: Do you have Mike (Femto) on your XBL buddy list? Cus I never see you online when I am at his house, and I am moving in to his place soon so I’d like to get more casuals in with a good Eileen player.

I am about to RUN vf5 once I get regular access to a 360 and some sticks and XBL after wednesday…

I do have xbl, i just haven’t been on because of work and blue dragon. I really wouldn’t call myself a good eileen player. but i do know that you’re not going to be running VF once you move into Mike’s place =p

I’M running VF.

I’m relegating all of you to gerber bracket status once I get some more cheap tactix down.

word on the street is that VF is close to getting the axe at the Northwest majors…do we really want to let this happen? After 2 weeks of no tournament action at Zach’s I’m worried about what has become of the Seattle scene, what started out as something promising has kinda dwindled and personally I don’t want to see it go down the shitter. So check this out, next gathering at Zach’s is on the 23rd iirc. Let’s get people to come out and have us some good ol fashion beat downs!

Btw I got raped during my online match for the World Cyber Games Brisal’s wolf is a fucking beast, take some tips from that guy Robert and Julian

I believe that the chief reason VF is on shaky ground is not because of diminishing interest (though that may very well be a factor) in the local tournaments, but rather, a lack of people have pledged to loan their 360’s and copies of the game for the event at NW Majors. Without the proper equipment, obviously the tournament simply can’t happen. Brent currently has enough hardware for all of the other tournaments, as players for those respective games have promised to help out by supplying the consoles and games. But when I spoke to him on Friday, he was concerned about how few setups for VF have been committed.

So if there is a genuine interest in seeing this game remain on the listings, you guys should help out by bringing the gear. Posting in the NW Majors loan thread with what you’re gonna bring would also help. But only do so if you’re fairly certain of your attendance.

No offense Keith but your post wasn’t the one I wanted to see when I got home from work.

Well one reason why I quit VF is this, who am I gonna play VF against and when? There aren’t any sessions, and it seems like the only time I can play anybody outside of a tournament is online. Needless to say, I’d rather play someone in person than over the internet but that doesn’t happen. If I were to pick reasons why VF is diminishing, I’d choose the following in no particular order…

-Yosuke is gone.
-No real sessions outside of tournaments.
-No one that sits down and teaches (could be tied in with the second reason).
-Hardly anybody was ever really interested in VF before Yosuke was here.
-Yosuke is gone.

But seriously, the one time Eddie and Ngan (Tekken players) show up, they convince me to run a Tekken 5 DR tourney, and that tourney had about 16 people, spontaneously. Kinda ridiculous that that many people would enter a one dollar DR tourney on a whim yet not enter VF huh? I think not.

I think you’re off base on a couple of those complaints, Mandel…

-Online is actually really, really good (great for learning basics, not super laggy) compared to most games, though if you just don’t like the format, yeah, it still won’t work for you, and no sessions outside of Zach’s is a very valid complaint.
-Myself, Mike, and Rob have all offered to teach people to play, and have sat down to help people on multiple occasions(notably the Juli(a/e)ns). The issue is more that noone seems to be taking us up on the offer, which is understandable at Zach’s again… there’s poker/ST/beer drinking/whatever else that gets prioritized.

I don’t think the Tekken DR comment is valid either. I personally entered that tourney, just because it was sort of a once in a lifetime thing, cause I’d never seen tekken actually played at Zach’s before. But, I dislike the game, and wouldn’t enter if it were regular. I think it would suffer exactly the way VF has… we had 16 people several times early on, and then all the guys who were just entering cause it was cheap realized that some of the top players were really, really good, and they didn’t want to seriously learn a 3rd game after MvC2 and ST. Even these last two weeks, when all the really good players were missing, noone was willing to just throw down a dollar for the heck of it.

If anything, there might just be too many events… everyone enters poker/MvC2/ST and then noone enters VF just because they’re afraid they’ll be moving between tournament matches nonstop all night. Not sure what, if anything, we can do about that… but VF is just lacking in crossover from the other games.

I still kinda resent everyone talking about Yosuke, because while he is truly an awe-inspiring player, he wasn’t able to get you guys to play the game. It wasn’t until me/frank/mike and couple others that had played VF4 started backing him, that we actually got the game running. And, it seems to still be true that unless me, frank, and mike are all there (before midnight even), then there won’t be enough VF players.

I wasn’t very interested in VF because of Yosuke, in fact I only scrubbed an Akira win once while he was there, it was much later after he left that I started going over to Mike’s and actually doing training mode and practicing with him that I learned that I really love the game.

I think too much credit is given to Yosuke for introducing VF here, honestly. It was strong for a while after he left, particularly when Rob (Lei Fei) and those other guys (Does anyone know why they don’t show up anymore?) were there.

I am REALLY hoping VF5 is still at the Northwest regionals, because I would like to play different people and I think it’s one of the most tourney worthy games ever… you can truly use whoever you want to use in that game and win if you play better. It’s also the only 3D game I enjoy at all.

I hope VF5 will be at the Northwest Majors. I hesitated to commit myself to the event because of work and all, but I’ll look over the schedule again and see if I can go and maybe bring some others along too.

That said, I wish I could support more Seattle-Portland VF meetups. I really do like the group you guys have up there.

-Chanchai

VF5 will be at the majors, but only if VF players show up for it and bring their equipment. A lot of VF players have been saying “they don’t want to unhook their 360s” but I don’t have 6 spare 360s laying around and they have to come from somewhere. They people playing the game need to make sure there is something to play it on.

We only have 1 person preregistered for it so far out of 11 so I am hoping we can get more people registered to show their is interest.

Its funny how me and Mandel discussed about when Yosuke left, it would be a slow death for the Seattle VF scene, seems to be turning true.
