i think my main character will be jacky, but i really want to accel with goh, unfortunately, i do not think that i have the general knowledge of vf’s game mechanics or match experience needed to fully utilize goh’s play style.
so for the time being, i will use jacky to “learn” the game.

i won my last tournament sad thing though, only 1 entrant.
Good games last night to Julien and Ray. I was kinda shocked when Julien was doing combos for some reason hahah. Ray beat my ass with like 6 different characters. I was actually trying to learn a character to learn so I could drop Vanessa until you guys sent me game invites lol. Looks like I’m stuck with Vanessa now, I’ve played her hella now.

Yep, good games Mandel and Julien. Mandel, stick to Vanessa but try other characters as well to see if they further match your playing style (Brad maybe?). Julien, I’ll do some Wolf vs Wolf battles with you sometime.

Here’s my extremely basic Shun move recommendations, since Mechanica was asking about him:
6P+K gives you 4 drinks if it hits. 8K+G > 6P+K will combo on anyone so that’s an easy way to use it, the move is really slow, so it’s risky if you just try to hit normally. Be a little careful, if people techroll, then can technically recover faster than you, but it’s usually worth the risk… I don’t think anyone in seattle would punish you effectively.
I’m sure you know about P+K+G for one drink. Look for chances to use 6P+K+G too… it looks almost the same, but Shun takes a step forward, it’ll duck highs, and if you hit P immediately after he’s got a very fast mid punch out of the drinking stance, and it’s highly delayable. It’s really easy to bait people with 6P+K+G, they’ll try and attack as if you had just used normal P+K+G, and then you can counterhit them with the punch.
Use neutral P+G throw and 4P+G a lot… I believe they give 4 and 5 drinks, respectively. Since noone in seattle can really throw escape, that’s probably all you need.
236PP is one of his best launchers, and I believe the strongest possible combo is to use a second immediate 236PP after you launch with the first one, you can get one or two more hits after that, but I can’t remember which moves to use. I could name a couple more moves, but having played you in the tourney, it looks like you know how to use them effectively (8K+G was one, for example). Just remember how powerful drinks are… you never got more than ~5 in your matches against me, and you could be doing a lot better. Don’t be afraid to just run away and spam drinks for the first round, even if you end up losing, it’s worth it to power him up for the remaining rounds.

I actually tried Brad (amongst a lot other characters) and he feels weird to me. I really really like Goh though. I also tried using Kage and I like him a lot as well.
I hate how when I play online, and for some reason that only the cosmos can explain, my configuration is changed. This happens fairly often and it’s really stupid. Makes me not even wanna play online.

You need to change your controller settings for both player 1 and player 2. It’s silly (they should tie controls to character data imo), but what’s happening is that the control is set for player 1 and player 2 sides–therefore, when you play the player 2 side online, it’ll play with the player 2 side’s controls as it is set on your general VF Data.
