Well, lets see. Monday night is Deezo’s, Thursday night is Cole’s. Sat night is TW’s. Other than that I don’t know if there are any planned events that happen every week. What’s the schedule like in Oregon? Any days that are pretty open for you guys?

We could probably do it any time just so that people who can’t make it out to sessions could get on and get some games, but it might be nice to have a day where people are mostly free too.

we have currently have mondays, wensdays, fridays, saturdays and sunday sessions going and usually running pretty late. so i guess tues. and thurs. but if you want a real answer we’d need to ask the players that really play/enjoy online, there are some locals here that play heavily but dont have very flexible work hours. so i think for them pretty much any night would work as long as they’re out of work or school for the day.
pretty much what you said towards the end there.

Sad that there isn’t a single Spokane player besides myself on that list as of the time stamp for this post. Well, can’t wait to move in July.

Ok well lets just try for tuesdays then and see how it works out. Can probably get some epic team battles going or something.

@Nphect: Sorry that Spokane is lamer than I thought it would be. Hopefully you can get some games in with the Xbox guys here, and when you move there is a ton of things to do. So we’ll see you in July!

Thing is, I can barely find anyone who isn’t a complete ass on SRK.com right now. I’ll add you and a few others and see if I can get some games in.

Lol with posts like this I don’t blame people for being jerks to you. Try adjusting your attitude and maybe you’ll feel more welcome.

Heh yeah, I get a annoyed a bit fast. Just a bad habit.

P.S. Is PS3 really that much more popular for SSFIV than 360? Not used to seeing so many PSN users for a genre before

360 is more popular, but it’s one of the more popular games on PSN I think. Especially right now when it just came out.

I think it’s that us PSN users are more desperate to play with REAL players as where Xbox users can more easily stick to playing their friends, so it just seems like a lot of PSN users are trying to get more experience.

Ya’ll said nights, so I’m down almost universally. I don’t even care. As long as it’s not Thursday nights. On those nights, I’m gonna start going back to OFC to level up.

I can’t even get online with my PS3 anymore due to sony’s draconian EULA. So yeah, i’ll be on 360 from this point on until Sony’s lawsuit settles.

We could also set a community online night. Set a night where both Sea-tac and PDX can be online. Those without online access can go to a host. We all friend each other up, jump into endless battle or team battle, and do the needed switch offs.

With all the talk about an online day and an updated database, maybe this should be something brought up to the SRK community as a whole…this is a php based management system. it shouldn’t be hard to add a section to their CMS to have gamertags, etc added, and a good scripter could design an interface to pull up that kind of info out of their database.

I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for the NW after speaking with cole 2 weeks ago. I was thinking of an online DB with gamer tags and such, as well as casuals and tourney results…kinda like an online scorecard of matches. It would add some legitimacy to claims about who the “best” is. Players could announce that they want a match to count for ranked before play, and the results would be posted to the site. the database could be searched to pull up who has the best record with each character, who has the most wins in various regions, which character gets used the most, etc.

We’d have to establish certain criteria for ranked matches…for example, ranked matches can only occur at casuals or at certain events. this way there are witnesses to the ranking. A ranked match has to be agreed upon by all players before starting the match…if anyone decides they do not want it ranked, it doesn’t count.

But i digress. I think that this could be a very valuable tool for the community done right. I’ve got the hosting ability, though my php coding ability is n00btastic at best.

Wow. I’m actually kinda blown away by this idea. It’s basically the idea that we had, but one step further. I actually hadn’t even thought of having someone host a group at their house. Very cool idea.

Right now we are set for Tuesdays. I have added everyone on the list (PSN) except for for b0kkin with his 09’ Proud tag, because I can’t get his ID to work for some reason. But this is a really cool idea in my opinion.

Honestly I think Online is okay, as long as it’s nothing too serious. There are very few instances where I can blame a loss on lag, but occasionally it happens. So anything really serious doesn’t really work. As long as people are cool with that, it sounds like it would be a lot of fun:tup:

We would need 2 groups though. For example, i own the game on 360 and that’s where i play it due to the stupid things Sony is doing. And i honestly advise anyone who isn’t aware to review the latest Terms of Service that you agreed to on PSN if you still are playing on that system. I’ve been a Sony fan boy for a really long time, until this generation.

In any case, i figure we can organize 2 to 5 locations in each region, central meeting places, and if we’re on XBL we can run a Party. this will allow Endless Battle as well Team Battles allowing multiple players from each region at once.

My place is pretty far out west of portland and takes time to get to, but i’m ALWAYS willing to host as long as i have nothing else going on.

Well I think this might be something that Cole might be interested in seeing as how he was offering to get the portland people involved in the ranking system via online battles.

If we could get another host in southern WA and one in Northern area that would make things pretty convenient for everyone. I would host, but I can’t due to my fiance studying and me having to keep things pretty quiet.

But let me run this back just to make sure I understand what you are saying.
Hypothetical Endless Battle Example: We have four hosts, each one has four people at their house. Win or lose, the players within each house rotate which would allow for a 16 person rotation using only 4 slots. Then we would still have 4 open slots for people that were unable to make it to anyones house, allowing for 20 people playing endless battle.

One major plus I see to this is that you would have people there who could be coaching you. If you aren’t noticing a pattern that someone does, they might, and point it out to you.

I think there would also be a possibilty for some interesting events this way. For some reason the idea that the winning house has to stay as the same character while the losing house gets to switch sounds kinda fun to me. Would be a really interesting kinda reverse way to learn the matchups. So if house A wins with T.Hawk, they would rotate players like normal, only they would have to pick Hawk, while house B can counter pick, until they win. When they win, then the roles are reversed.

I don’t know. Sounds weird, but kinda fun. If I have a juri player at my house coaching me because our house won and I’m stuck with Juri, I could potentially understand Juri’s strengths, weaknesses , and what she is capable of, which would help me whenever I’m up against a Juri player. I would know what weaknesses she has that I can exploit, and hopefully be able to avoid her strengths.

Anyway, that was just a thought I had. I’ll ask around and see if people are interested in trying this out. People are kinda busy with TW’s right now, so the timing might be bad for trying to get things organized. I’m definitely seeing some potential here.

online fight nights is a GREAT idea and i’m totally down

awesome awesome awesome thinking

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Lots of participation, multiple locations for ease of access, coaching abilities in multiple ways (say like 2 portland hosts XBL party up, the players could coach each other on what’s seen), and we can still leave slots open if we needed to.

The other benefit is expansion to online player base. I play against 1 guy in seattle pretty regularly, and i’m not sure he knows any of you guys. I get him in to one of these things, he friends you all up and maybe he’ll actually get better, or have more peeps to play with. At the end of each event, people who want to exchange XBL/PSN can go and ahead and do so.

I’d be down.
