Northwest Majors '09 - Saturday, August 22nd- Landmark Convention Center, Tacoma, WA

Wanted to run this idea by people.

I’ve been thinking about having smaller tables to hold set-ups. The average table is about 3 feet high, and there is a place that rents tables which are 2 feet high with the same length.

Since most people play on the floor anyway do to sticks moving around, I was wondering if people would prefer shorter tables for TV’s to sit on. I think it would give the whole room a cool affect too. More of a sit down and play games feel, instead of a showroom floor type of set-up. People sitting in chairs would still be looking right at the TVs too.

We could also have normal tables too, and put them around the room where we think they would work.

Any opinions?

Edit: I want team tournaments too.

What’s up with the website? I can help out if need be.

I’m running the website, but I’m honestly not all that good with logo design, but it appears you are! If you want to design a logo and banner for the page that would be pretty ace

PM me if you want some more info about the site or whatever, I’m not locked into a color scheme or anything so you’ve got some freedom if you decide to do it

As soon as I move out, I will donate to NWM 09, Brent.

We should start throwing dollar house tournies where proceeds go to NWM!

Also, I am perfectly fine with shorter tables, but I think a mix would be good because some old men like Julien need their chair, another chair for their stick, and then the TV at eye level like they used to do when they took their Model T’s to the local Malt Shoppe for some SF1.

I had my birthday just over 2 weeks ago. As a newly minted member of the geriatric wing, I take umbrage at your comments. Not funny, and not cool. Still, I laugh at having defied the doctors who told me that I’d never live to see 45. A few more years, and I’ll be Beasley’s age. I tell ya, it’s all downhill after 12.

Also, I’ve had a lot of house guests over the last 2 months or so. I haven’t cleaned in forever. After I sort some stuff out, maybe games will resume at my place in a couple of weeks. At which point, dollar-fundraiser tournaments for all.

Sadly, my oven just died on me today. After I just made a trip to Costco this week. 14 slabs of ribs, wasted. In the freezer they will remain, until a better world greets them.

^ Hahaha, with the random hate you spread 24/7 I don’t think anyone cares if you find their cracks funny or cool or not.

Anyways, I am down for dolla tournaments for NWM and also dolla tournaments for Keith to get a new oven, cus I LIKE EATING.

I’ll get an oven, no charge to guests. Also, there’s nothing random about my hate. It’s focused, concentrated, willful hate.

Exciting Times.

For special events, just a fun idea:

Have say 4-8 stations set up with either pre-nominated games, or perhaps random titles drawn from a hat. Each Match would be assigned to a new station via say dice roll or something simple.

Sounds a tad complicated / time consuming, but I figure if you get the stations set up right and keep casual play off during tourny set up, you could keep the matches flowing at a good pace.

A way to put in some T5:dr, CvS2, Alpha(s)?, GG:AC,…

What’s up with a KOF XII tourny? Since it’s gonna be coming out July 7th it will give people more than a month to practice.

Is anyone interested in working on a video promo? Maybe even two video promos over the next 5 months? There was a lot of talk and a lot of interest about this last time, and I think its a great idea. Neh, A NECCESITY! If anyone would like to be in charge of it, it would be a great way to get word out about the tournament.

It doesn’t have to be long, or amazing quality.

If someone could post links to all the match videos (like any) and the pictures from the last NWM, I wouldn’t mind working on it. After all, I’ve been looking for a chance to contribute to this year’s NWM (mainly because either GG or BB will be included :lovin:).

BUT then, if someone else wants to do it instead, then I’ll step back.

PS. I’m gonna use Vegas to edit the videos, if I do get to work on them.

howabout a fat person cooldown area that sprays a gentle mist.

Interested in attending, have to see how things go though. NOFWESS FOH EVAH!!

Ok so I know melee is a better game then brawl, that goes without saying, but honestly Brawl will get you more attendance. And once the brawl players come flocking to this tourney, they will be introduced to quality games like GG :AC, SF4, MvC2 etc…

Also, what system will SF4 be played on? And will you need any TV’s or systems. I can provide a PS3 with SF4 and a wii with melee or brawl.

We have seen in the past that smash players have ZERO interest in fighting games even when exposed to them.

GOOD question… I am hoping 360 cus I do not have a PS3 stick.

I dont know it might be worth a try =/

Maybe both would be a good idea. A 2 system tourney wouldn’t be that hard to run.

Oh wow, had no idea this was in the works. I’ll definitely be attending (and will throw out the word to friends).

whats the fee for every person?

$10 one time regsitration, and $10 for every game.

Kind of confusing way to phrase it. Sounds like you’re saying it’s $10 to get in and (an additional) $10 for each game?

There is a registration fee of $10, this fee does not enter you into any tournaments but you must pay it if you wish to compete. Entry into a tournament costs $10 per tournament.

So for example if you want to compete in only one game, it would cost $20. If you want to compete in two games, it would cost $30.

Spectating is FREE, it doesn’t cost anything to enter the venue. It’s hard to phrase no matter how you put it haha
