Wait so questioning people who I thought I would be playing and then finding out they aren’t is offensive? I thought it would be the opposite since I thought so highly of said persons. Alright my bad then. I’m not really sorry I get exited over a game I like to play (I’m an excitable person) I thought you guys were all hype his and hype that. If I give out random bits of info that are my opinion on the game or any aspects, seriously that’s my opinion and I’m not going to change it based on other people believing it’s wrong. I like to help anybody who ask for my opinion on any aspect out as best I can. I know I’m an average player at the moment and was honored to play on the 5v5 (and exited-why wouldn’t I be?) and I did pretty well I thought but it was an exhibition and in no way that serious, at least to me. I’m constantly playing people better than me and going to the training room so I can be considered better than average and I hope to display that at the tournament wars truly I can’t wait for this to start but seriously I’m disappointed at how I was misconstrued over me just being exited. I don’t know of a single time I’ve been a downer on anybody during any match (quite the opposite) and opinions of me are swayed so easily which is sort of offensive to me. I go out of my way to be nice to people I usually hope to receive the same back and for the most part as I’ve said people are generally awesome this just sort of pisses me off.
In my opinion the Wild Card team almost made sense as it was a mix of people from different areas (BC, Mt. Vernon, Lynnwood, Everett, Bothel) but I would have liked to see someone from Portland in there and maybe if someone was from even further out them because to me that was what the evo wild card team was about players who didn’t fit into other regions or didn’t make it on their regions teams. I would have gladly watched someone from Portland rep the Wildcard team instead of me because that would have made more sense to me and I still would have rooted them on to win because I like teams made that way. All in all the event was a huge success again I thank you Brent for all you work and I am sad to hear how little you played. Wow I just looked at how much I wrote and sorry to whoever reads it I just got a little worked up.
Edit: Ghrrk that guy definitely has some talent (at least at reading me) and got his fair share of wins so definitely encourage him to come to some stuff he was a really nice cool guy as well.
Edit: Mickey I understand how I may have been interpreted but that was not my intention and really I would like to MM you playing good people is how I get better so what like FT3 for $20 or if that’s to low we can hammer out the details later.
I’m complaining because the 5v5 kinda fucked everything that came after it. I didn’t get to see Marvel or Third Strike finals because of the 5v5. The SFIV finals were on the small-ass screen because of the 5v5. We ran over time because of the 5v5. I could go on.
The only way I am in favor of a 5v5 next year is if it’s part of a multi-day event.

The easiest thing you can do is apologize. Even if you aren’t sorry about what you said, and feel that you came off the wrong way, you can at least apologize for unintentionally offending someone. Kriangkrai’s like the nicest dude, I don’t see why there should be beef between the two of you.
I think people were more ‘pissed’ about the team touney causing the singles to be pushed back an hour and a half (at least). Was fun to watch for a while but double elim? Really?
Yeah if you guys ever watch the loser 5v5 vids of me playing you’ll hear me complaining about how we shouldn’t be playing losers and that we should be running SF4 singles and other finals lol It’s pretty funny.
You just don’t understand how to take criticizm do you? Your lucky that I’ve learned to hold back since last year dude…I gave you a tactful post as to exactly WHY people aint feeling you, and you come up with a post that says “Well thats the way I am! DEAL WITH IT!” Thats the reason why people DON’T want to deal with you…What you pretty much convey through your post is that your NOT sorry, and that you DON’T want to change.
I’ll money match you, but don’t think I’ll take it easy on you like I have other times…Let the match be a lesson to you…that you have things to learn, not just in this game, but in social fields as well.
I’m not defending Carlos but Mike, me and you have a lot to talk about as far as what I’ve seen in you lately. Not only have you openly said that I and other players “suck” but you start unwarranted beef through out the scene. Constructive criticism and beefing are completely different things and I don’t think you understand that. This was between K and Carlos and now you made it about yourself. We need to let THEM handle it and leave it at that.
I think the whole “are you on a team? Oh, well I am!” thing is what came across the wrong way, man. A lot of people were butthurt that they weren’t on the wildcard team/any team, but I don’t think they realized it was because we made the team early before a bunch of the tough sf4 players had even arrived. We didn’t know who would be here in time, so we made a team with what we had.
Do you see how it could be misconstrued? That’s all that happened. Trying to clear this up before it gets beefier.

I think we all agreed/realized we shouldn’t have made the team tourney double elim. I thought we were out once dan scraped our team and was confused when I had to play again.
Riki, I’m not necessarily defending Mickey and I don’t know what happened between you two. However I’m sure that I talk to Mickey the most out of everyone and recently he talked about how he’s happy that our scene has so many new, dedicated players now and he specifically mentioned you, Jared, and Doug. So for what it’s worth, I have never heard him say anything negative about you.
I hope that everyone can put this nonsense behind them and concentrate on the game. Because in the grand scale of things, Seattle is steadily falling behind the rest of the US in SFIV and we can definitely compete with the other areas with the amount of talent we have here.
Riki, Bokkin, I’ve got plans to sort through things…please understand that I’m truly not trying to attack anyone, and I have the best intentions for the scene as well as improvement in our community. I plan on talking to you guys in person about this…and I truly look forward to it.
I agree with Elias we were the what we had squad. If I seen James (Red Venom) a minute before the exhibition started I would have been like hey James get over here because that dude 2-0’s me like clockwork, but alas alot of people came realllllly late so we managed and again I’m sorry for how I may have come off but I’m not that kind of person and anyone who thinks I am is dead wrong. I’m pissed at how people are viewing me when that’s not who I am and the PM function isn’t going to help because the rest is here anyway. We’ve got alot of random drama of misunderstanding and word of mouth. I think it’s kind of funny that people have such drama over a competitive game but I won’t let people sully my reputation because of the misunderstanding of my being inquisitive (sorry for the long words but they are necessary here). I happily play this game because it’s fun, not because it’s a job so I am very happy go lucky about it. Seriously stop talking about other people and just play the game. Also JalapNo just don’t do it in public

Time for me to post the one post to rule them all:
I’m not the kind of guy who has any sort of status in the scene/community, but I feel things are being misunderstood on all ends. I’ve talked to almost everyone involved/contributors of the situation quite a bit as of the last week about the situation, and feel like I could actually do some good and talk to everyone to help convey the message.
I would really hope to ask this of everyone/anyone, to please stop posting further on the matter, because things are being taken the wrong way (out of context), and until we all can talk in person, it will only hurt us more as a friendly community. The tension and animosity that needs to be fixed before we all go to gatherings together will be high if we let it slide and continue talking about it online. I hope everyone can respect that what everyone has said has been misconstrued and taken the wrong way.
I (should) hope I have given everyone here the respect they deserve and a great deal of understanding as a person, but in the end, I guess I haven’t been contributing to help the cause.
Anyone who feels that they would like to fully understand the situation, I am willing to talk to anyone about it so that gossip/beef/anger can be put to rest. I mean that in the sense that I would rather kill the calf, than let this beef grow into a Bull with horns where I’m running in Spain and get gored in the ass.
This is really graphic to say, but has to be: No one wants to hang out by the ranch where the cows get away with shitting where they eat, instead they would rather be at the butcher wanting this beef get cut up, tenderized, seasoned, eaten, then put right where it should be, in the Porcelain gods mouth and flushed down into the sea like Charybdis did to Odysseus’s ship.
(Charybdis was the giant toilet monster in the ocean that was a “maelstrom”, not the Scylla the Hydra who ganked sailors as they tried to sail by the rocks)
