Fellas, good ish. Props to Brent for setting up such a successful event. Good work fellas, we gon do serious work next time.
Who got 1st and 2nd in GG?
1st was Jais
2nd was Hellsap
Ah, tell him GGs and I’m sorry I gimmick-character’d my way through him. I always feel kinda lame when I know I just snaked wins because fuerte is a fuggin maniac and people don’t know how to play against him.
Going to try to get what brackets I have up in the results thread tonight.
I think Taramoor was on one of his 10 win streaks on that casual setup when the whole synced controller thing happened.
I’m certain it was him, he even told me that he might’ve accidently messed someone’s game up.
But what’s up, bro?
Haha, a win’s a win in my book. I even told him some stuff about your fuerte before your guys’ match, like pointers and such just so he wouldn’t be going in completely blind. :wgrin: But, sure thing, I’ll pass the word on.
All in all it was a ton of fun and sorry guys that the team tourney had to go the way it did but I’m thinking next year we’ll have an open single elim to allow for such awesome teams like team hardbody.
Carlos, gloating like that is not cool please makes amends with those you offended.
Congratulations to all who made it to the top in their respective games.
and Mandel, I talked to Jamie about what was said so if he doesn’t at least talk to you about it lmk cause until this is resolved Kuenai is not rolling with me to anything.
^My bad if I offended anyone. I was again disappointed that I got 4-0’d by James again in loosers and James if you were there a little earlier I would have gladly stepped aside to watched you Viper some people on the 5v5. I hope to see you on the Arcade Infinity videos doin your stuff good luck in SoCal. I really am excited about the Tournament Wars this will keep the competition tough and people will keep leveling up until evo and another NWM. Also I never got to give any of my money away in money matches to air or scrubbydan because I really wanted to play them more for some learnin. Brent this was an event to be reckoned with and I hope I can help more next time.
Zach, just wanted to say sorry that I didn’t say ‘what’s up’ at NWM, I meant to, but then got distracted by many flashing lights. Wish I could’ve caught some MegaMan beasting in Marvel.

Axel Kelly Jr.
That’s the guy whom Axelz was checking out from behind at Winter Showdown, right? Paul Lee has a great story from that one.
You know what was tight? Seeing Grant passed the fuck out right next to the marvel set up. There were many other places he could have slept and not worry about getting stepped on. But no, the force of marvel was too strong. He wasn’t going anywhere.
I saw him sleeping next to the organizer’s table at one point. I suggested that he sleep UNDER the table instead, since that way no one would Sentinel stomp him. He took it under advisement, and stayed in the same place.
Random Select 1:
Axel Kelly: Hey wassup guys?
Me: Hey man! How you doing?
Axel: Good, hey who’s that chick over there by the Melty Blood?
Me: That’s ur son dood!
Axel: What?
Me: That’s Alex Kelly Jr.!
Axel: OH NOES
:looney:
Thanks to all the people who told me where I could sleep. I was kind of worried that if I slept somewhere else (balcony, etc.) that I wouldn’t wake up until after everybody had left.
True fact, I just got back from falling asleep in some tennis courts where my friend was playing bike polo.
I am glad to say that I find narcolepsy hilarious.
Guy in the green shirt is Valdens. LOL #1/#2 Smasher in Washington.
Thanks to Brent for a GREAT event and allowing Smash to be a part of it. I know, often, Smash is seen as some lame ass kids game… but for those few of you who understand/knew the game, you know it is a very competitive game and when you look at Melee, you understand it is possibly one of the most technical fighting games ever made.
Brawl…well its Brawl and not Melee. Still competitive, draws large crowds, but its Brawl.
Anyway THANKS for the great event everyone!!
Hope to see you SF4 people at TourneyPlay on Oct 18th.

I am working on the Entry Fee structure for SF4… so it will be less then the $20 venue + $15 event that is posted now, just not sure exactly what it will be until the venue is booked.
Melee definitely isn’t one of the most “technical” fighting games ever made…it’s technical, but not very technical compared to all other 2d fighters. It has it’s moments, but when you think about cvs2, 3s, sf4, marvel…I can’t see how it would even compete as far as “technicality” goes.
Can’t wait to see where the venue is!
