Northwest Majors '09 - Saturday, August 22nd- Landmark Convention Center, Tacoma, WA

You don’t have to be there at 8am if you are registered for your tournament. You do have to be at your tournament before hand and check in with your tournament director.

Brent, I have some important questions.

  1. Let’s say a GG/HDR player has not preregistered. Can he still register for the tournament during the 30min break time before the tournament starts? Or can he only register during the registration hour (8am-9am)?

  2. How many matches do you want to see in the first final (2:30-4pm)? Grand finals only? Grand finals + losers final?

  3. Will you allow casuals during the final or no? (Evo didn’t allow casuals during the finals, so I’m just wondering.)

That’s it for now.

  1. Yes, they can still register. I am editing the schedule to include a few more registration times during the day. A registration time 15 minutes before the start of each round of tournaments. I talked to Paulee and he will be available to run the registration.

Could you call me at 253-740-9157. I wanted to ask you about the GG: Accent Core Plus discs.

  1. Ideally, we would do loser’s + grand finals. If we find we are running over on time, then it will just be grand.

  2. Casuals will be fine during finals.

BC players please be here by 4PM AT THE LATEST!!! in order to be on time for the 5v5 and late registration for SF4.

I talked to Play N’ Trade, a games store near where I work about “sponsoring” the NWM a month or so back. They just opened recently and were interested in getting to know the local fighting games scene. In the end they ended up donating some TV’s and will be there with a booth! It’s not quite full sponsorship or anything, but hopefully in the future we can score some funding and prizes for NWM!

Hi guys,

I apologize for the last minute change, but hopefully this makes it a lot easier for everyone to register on the day of. I will try to get this on the site as soon as possible, and I am updating the other forum announcments.

is there Casual play at all during the whole tournament… or ppl just got to watch and sitting around?

… WoW, just wow.

Casual play during the whole tournament!

But you should really enter a tournament if you can. Just one! It’s a good experience, it’s a big help to all the coordinators (who have put a lot of personal money and TIME into this), and it’s fun. You’ll get your name up on web pages, and you will probably even get some of your matches recorded, which is awesome for getting tips and comments later.

last minute notice, I will not be making it =|

hmmm

oh yea! for sure… i was j/w b/c SF4 is at night so i was like damn do all the players just kick back until play time LOL…

So, seriously, someone up north should bring me some Everclear.

Also, if Greg from Tri-Cities wants to MM, I think I owe him a runback from the weekend at Gameworks.

Hey Paullee, so SF players can come in at like 3:30 pm and still be fine for the tournament? Instead of coming in at 8 am and registering.

Yes, but the sooner you register the better. If you wait until the last minute to register, it is going to creat problems if everything plans to register 15min before the tournament starts. Please register in one of the many hours beforehand.

Brent, I know I’m bringing my CRT TV, an Xbox, and SF4. Will it be fine to get there around 10-11AM? I don’t exactly want to wake up at 6AM to get down there!

P.S. Am I bringing my TV for another person’s set-up and my set-up will be used elsewhere? Just curious!

Your TV is going to be used for a tournament setup. We can use your console in a casuals area and move it to tournament later in the day since it only has SF4, but we need the TV on the tournament floor.

If you could get up by at least 7 and make it down by 9 at the latest, that would best. We need peopel who are bring things to get there by the start time to make sure we have the equipment to run the first games.

I just registered but I didn’t get my name/handle/location in. What do I do?

You can post it up here, or email it to the email that came with the payment confirmation. Brent.cleary@gmail.com

ill just post it.
